RE: Puma unleashed 356

Anyone have a real world pin weight for a 356? How about a measurment from the floor to the loft and from the floor to the beds in the up postion? I'm 6'3" so that could play into my choices. Thanks

RE: Short Bed Dually

I use my manuel slider every time I use my trailer. Why not have it in case you need it? Lot easier then needing it and not having it.

RE: Lighter 5th Wheel TH?

Have you looked at Cherokee Wolf Pack 295? On my short list.

RE: Toys for the Toy Hauler

How about rehabing the knee and keep the dirt bike? trail riding is eaiser on the knee than motocrossing.

RE: Towing a Trailer...Behind My 5th Wheel ?

See my sig for my set up. Same 5x8 trailer you are thinking of. With 2 dirt bikes probaly about the same weight. I have no issues pulling my set up. I don't drive fast( 65 tops) and I watch where I park since backing isn't much of a option. Have a good shop put on your hitch if you aren't a good welder. A back up camera would be nice. My next one will be a toyhauler too, but this one is paid for and in excellent shape, so I don't see a hauler in the near future. Double towing is a great way of getting your toys where you are going with only one truck being used. Its not for everyone, make sure you are comfortable doing it. Most of all, have fun!!!!!!!!

RE: Forest River vs Dutchman products

What are you using to pull the Puma Unleashed? I like that model, but the dry pin weight seems heavy to me.

RE: Yamaha YZ Dirtbike Issue with Picture

Glad to hear it. However, don't forget to keep up with topend maintance. A new piston kit from RM for my sons 125 is about 80.00 plus gaskets. Pretty cheap compared to a new jug or a lot of machine work.

RE: New Polaris RZR ?

So they want you to wear a seat belt, wear a helmet, and supervize your kids when you are rideing? OMG! how horrible is that?! The reason there is a law making you do this is because some where some place some moron used a SxS for a baby sitter. Some one got hurt and then some one sued instead of taking responsibilty for their actions. happens all the time. I come from a strictly 2 wheel background. I wear all the gear all the time. I really don't see why a helmet and a seatbelt is so bad. What I do see as bad is the fact that the state feels it needs to step in and make a law so that you will do it. You should already be doing it. You guys would nut out if you had to ride here. Most all rideing is on private property and there are rules you have to go by. Like wear a helmet. Some places SxS are not allowed. Some trails are motorcycle only.

RE: Yamaha YZ Dirtbike Issue with Picture

I agree with that. I have seen many riders scared of getting it on the pipe, so they just up shift and end up bogging it all the time. That wicked two stroke hit is what I miss the most now that I am on a four stroke.

RE: Where are you going for Thanksgiving?

We went to Red River Motorcycle Trails in Bulcher, Texas for the day on Saturday. We did what my brother called the "Deathmarch 2012" !! It was awesome!! 40 plus miles of killer single track!

RE: Yamaha YZ Dirtbike Issue with Picture

Maxima Super M is the cleanest buring oil I have seen. Used it in a 85 and now a 125 @ 40:1 with no problems ever. Also used it in my old 250 smoker and my buddy uses it in his 300 KTM with no problems ever. My .02

RE: Yamaha YZ Dirtbike Issue with Picture

You need a new top end and new muffler packing. 40:1 Super M is what I use in my sons 2003 RM 125. He keeps it spooled up tight in Hare Scrambles and Enduro races. We never have this problem until it is time for a top end rebuild.

RE: Where are you going for Thanksgiving?

Heading to St. Joe State Park for some off road riding. 2000 acre ORV park 40 minutes south of St. Louis. Should be good for sure. Wait, there's riding there?? My oldest is a junior at Missouri Western State University (Go Griffons!) in St. Joseph, MO. How big is the park? Do you have a link or details? He is flying home on Monday and we are heading to the Oregon dunes, but it would be awesome if he could get some riding in while he is at school. It has been the site of a National Enduro for a few years

RE: Tire challenge - 15"

Can't help with wheel options, I don't know that much about it. If you stay with 15" wheels, try Maxxis tires. Best I have found in the 15" ST tire.

RE: Looking for info from those of you who double tow

See my sig for my set up. I would advise to check your weights closely. I would not do it with a bumper pull trailer. I try very hard not to get myself in a sitiation where I need to back up. IE: fuel stops bathroom stops etc. So far,in 4 years, I have only had to unhook at my final destination not in the trip there. I watch my speed carefully. I never drive over 65mph. Have you looked at a Cherokee 295wp 5thwheel toy hauler? About as lite weight open floor plan as I have found. Good luck.

RE: Do you use a slider hitch with your short bed??

I have one and use it every trip at least twice. Storage lot and driveway every time. Love it. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

RE: Assembly Bill 1595: CA law change affecting OHV riders

Do you guys have a problem with this? Just curious. I don't know where you're coming from but I don't like the government continually taking away freedoms on the premise that is 'for our own good'. Whats next? They mandate neck braces because there are too many neck injuries? And after that??? I think it should be up to the rider. Personally, I ride dirt bikes, not dune buggys, and I wear a helmet for my own safety because I want to. I too ride only dirt bikes. I always wear a helmet as well as all the other gear. I dont' like govt. running my life. I also think quads, sxs, and dune buggy riders should wear helmets. But that choice should be up to the rider, not the govt.
