There are several different ways parks are incorporating online reservations into their businesses -- some are offering real time reservations and some are doing a variation of real time. We want to offer our Good Sam Parks the tools to provide Good Sam members 'real time' reservations, so you can book a site at your convenience and know it's a confirmed booking. While we can't make our Good Sam Parks offer this kind of online reservation service, we can make the necessary software and tools available to them - helping them with this piece of their business and meeting Good Sam members' needs.

This is Ann Emerson, and I work with the Good Sam Park Network. I wanted to let you know that we are actively seeking an online reservation solution for our Good Sam Parks and are meeting with several companies who specialize in providing online reservations to campgrounds. We know this is important for our members. Is it your preference to always make reservations online versus over the phone (or just driving in to a park)? Thanks for the great suggestions for the 2014 edition. We are hearing from many members that they miss the address information for parks, so we are definitely looking at adding that back in -- most seem to prefer the address rather than the driving directions and GPS coordinates.
We are looking at the number of listings, content of listings and the size of the Directory and appreciate the ongoing feedback to help us find the right balance. So keep the comments coming!

Thanks for the feedback. We did try to add more white space to the pages making the listings easier to read -- there's a lot of text! Good to hear you like the new placement of the maps, we've heard that from several members so will continue that with the next edition. We are looking at adding a US map to the front section of the book as some members miss that feature.

I'm Ann Emerson, Vice President of the Directory. And I want to thank you for this great feedback!
When we merged Trailer Life & Woodall's, we were challenged with keeping as much campground content as possible while still managing the overall size of the Directory. We are very proud of our first edition, however, we know that we need to make improvements going forward. The size of the Directory as well as the content are our primary focus as we work on our next edition.
We have heard from members that the Directory is too big. And we have heard from members that the size is OK as long as the content is there. Our challenge is to balance both of these schools of thought into a Directory that is of value to you. And we will continue to compliment our print Directory with digital options, including our websites and our mobile apps...with a new app that will work on both the iPhone and Android platforms coming this spring.
Please continue to share your thoughts with us as it is critical to help us deliver the best campground information possible. From your feedback we will be able to determine what our next steps are -- whether it's a smaller, lighter Directory or East & West editions...or somewhere in between. My team and I will continue to provide updates to you and we look forward to your continued feedback!

Thanks for the great feedback! We currently have 2 mobile apps that work on the i-Phone and i-Pad. You can find all of the parks that are in the Trailer Life Directory, including Good Sam Parks, on the app RV Park Finder powered by Trailer Life Directory. If you want a Woodall's version of the mobile app, look for Woodall's RV & Camping Co-Pilot app.
Both are free.
