RE: Overhead fluorescent light not working - fix??

Recently had a ballast in a flourescent go out. Googled manufacturer of light, found part number and ordered ballast. About $25 w/shipping, I think. Ballast will be under metal cover between the bulbs. When you get the new one, compare and replace wire for wire. Was really pretty easy.

RE: Intellitec multi-point switching system

Have tried contacting Intellitec, but got no response from email, and I'm growing old waiting for a return phone call. Did find a manuel at this site. http://www.flemingsalesoem.com/intellitec/PDF/5300837.000.pdf (Sorry, don't know how to make it clickable.) There is a trouble shooting section, but I may not be smart enough to fully understand the instructions. The green LED on the Master Control is lit and everything seems to be in order. All buttons work, except the backlighting goes haywire. Thanks for your response

Intellitec multi-point switching system

To start; system is in a 2003 Islander by National RV. My problem: The red backlights on all buttons on 8 of the 10 multi-point switch panels come on for no apparent reason. The system can be reset by switching the disconnect on the house batteries, or removing the backlight fuse for a period of time. All will be ok for maybe a day or two, then the gremlins go to work and everything lights up again. The buttons, even though showing red will operate all the functions. The system has a Multiplex Control Master p/n 00-837-000 and a Latching Module p/n 838-000. Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix or how to trouble shoot. Suspicious that the Control Master may be failing since it powers the backlights, but I expect to get another, would be an expensive experiment.

US 50 thru Nevada and Utah

We are in Reno area and contemplating hwy 50 across Nevada and Utah. Are the mountain passes big rig friendly? Is IH 80 a better option? We are flat landers but have fair experience with mountain driving. Will appreciate comments.

RE: 2004 National Islander

We have "03 Islander" on Dynomax, bought 2 years ago with 51,000. Now has 71,000. Replaced tires, serviced, etc. Absolutley love the coach. Your price sounds about right (some less - some more). I have about $130,000 in mine.

ATT/Cingular cell service in Montana

We are planning a trip in Sept thru Montana (Glacier Park), West to Seattle area and South along coast line into California. Concerned about how reliable cell service will be thru North Dakota and Montana. Any experience with ATT/Cingular out there?

RE: Need Help? Trip to midwest

In Arkansas, consider visiting Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River (Heber Springs)COE parks, Mt View and Bull Shoals Lake State Park on White River near Mt Home. Also, Branson, MO probably another 1 1/2 hours from Bull Shoals with tons to do. Lots of good camping in any of Arkansas' state parks. Encourage you to visit if you haven't before.

RE: When are Autumn colors in Maggie Valley?

I think you are right on with 3d week. I know we always get anxious and generally get a little ahead of change. Love that area. Played the golf course in Maggie Valley one year, and caught the color at the absolute peak. Rained the next day and lost probably 1/2 of it. Here's hoping you catch it right.

RE: Trouble with Jeep Gr. Cherokee transmission

I have 04 GC. Before starting, shift from Park to Neutral. Then shift Transfer Case to two wheel mode. If transfer case is stiff, put foot on ground and roll Jeep a few inches. Mine usually goes right in. Then start engine.

RE: Is the brake away really need on the Ready Brake?

I have just installed a Ready Brake and haven't yet had an opportunity to use it, but like you, liked all the reviews. Ran my wire underneath MH w/wire ties. Installation looks good on both car and MH. Did not include breakaway kit and am not concerned in the least. With good safety cables, rear view monitor and reasonable speeds, will take my chances that it will never separate. I have towed over 100,000 miles without an incident.

RE: Amish Country

I vote with joppa. Beacon Hill at Intercourse is a great place to watch Amish farming. With binoculars, I spent a lot of time watching a farmer work with his team (5 mules abreast), as well as all the activity with other livestock around the house and barns. It really carries you back to an age that is long gone except for this micro culture that is being preserved by these people.

RE: King Dome Satellite Antenna - model 9702

Finally solved the problem with help of tech guy from Radio Shack. My old satellite receiver (which I replaced) provided the electrical ground for the operation of the satellite antenna (King Dome). The new receiver did not and therefore we had to make a new ground by splicing into the 12 power provided for my windshield fans. Works like a charm and all is well. Also had Radio Shack install a digital converter for convential antenna operation. Everything, including converter and two hours of trouble shooting came to $112. I'm one happy camper.

King Dome Satellite Antenna - model 9702

My King Dome does not respond to the switch to seek satellite. I had to replace my Direct TV receiver and got a picture, but moving satellite antenna was not required since it was already in position. Am wondering if something needs to be reprogrammed, or if I just coincedentally have a switch or power failure to the satellite dish. I replaced the receive about a month ago, and have not had an ocassion to use it since. Any thoughts??

RE: Branson in 2 weeks - stay where? - ABC closed?

LuckieChuckie is referring to Musicland. Have stayed there several times, and it is very convienent. We're a 40' moho, and while the park feels really tight, we didn't have any problems getting in or out.; Our favorite place when we visit Branson.

A Florida State Park, but one of our favorites. Has a big rig section with wonderful landscaping. Near Santa Rosa Beech (Destin) area. If this link doesn't work, google Top Sail RV. Don't know how to make it active.
