RE: Amish cooling unit safety fuse L1200 Norcold Dometic

That's probably the correct number. Most of these Amish cooling units are built in a garage type building.

RE: Awning size , how to measure?

If possible, contact the manufacturer of the RV with the VIN number. They should be able to give you the exact model number and make of the awning.

RE: ac duct covers

Use caution when closing off registers. Do not close off too many, as it will retard the air flow from the air conditioner and cause the evaporator coil to freeze over and stop cooling.

RE: Thermostat replacement

Unfortunately, you will have to replace it with an exact replacement. Is it a 4 button or 5 button thermostat?

RE: Dometic fridge door gasket

They have door gasket kits available. If you do purchase one, be sure to follow the instructions very close. Last info I had, you are in for a 3-4 day process.

RE: Open Range 5th wheel

I live 10 miles from Shipshewana and reading the local news, this company seems to be growing very nicely. They just obtained zoning approval for a new service building. They are certainly doing something right.

RE: 13,500 btu or 15,000 btu?

The 15,000 btu could possibly freeze if the RV ducting will not handle the additional capacity. You can always change to the ceiling assembly to one that has the cold air dump feature. That would eliminate the freeze up problem, but will add some additional air noise.

RE: New Dometic 13500 AC only cool down to 71 degrees

Good grief! Below 70 degrees is furnace time. I do not know the characteristics of this new R410 referigerant they are required to use. Perhaps it causes the unit to freeze in temperatures below 70 degrees. If that is the case, all A/C manufacturers have to use it and may have the same problem. Best check before switching.

RE: Air conditioner help

Have you got up on the roof and removed the outside shroud of the air conditioner and tried to free the motor? If you cannot free it there, the motor will need to be replaced or the a/c replaced.
The hardest job is to get the new unit on the roof and the old one off. There are four anchor bolts that hold the air conditioner to the roof. You will have to remove the ceiling assembly to gain access to the mounting hardware. If you stay with the same brand it might save you purchasing a new ceiling return and electronices.

RE: Motor for WeatherPro Awning

The left hand torsion spring may be broken. It assists the motor to close the awning. It is best you have a trained technician check this for you becasue the torsion spring can be dangerous.

RE: K&N on Carbed Ford 460

I would not waste my $$ on one. Had one on my 2000 Power Stroke, saw no difference in mileage, performance and it was a mess to clean. Threw it away after 2 years.

RE: AE Weather Pro Power Awning .... Tired

It is possible the left hand torsion spring has broke and is not assisting the motor to close the awning. It is best to have this checked by a qualified technician as a torsion can be dangerous.

RE: Dometic RM3862 refrigerator "Auto" button does not work

Be sure you have 110 Volts at the refrigerator plug. If you have a volt meter, check there, then pull the cover off the module board and check there as well. If the refrigerator board does not see 110 volts, it will not switch from gas. I had a freind with the same issue and found his outlet was bad. If you held the plug in a certain position, it would switch from gas. If you do not have a meter, run an extension cord to the refrigerator from a good power source.
Hope this helps.

RE: Picking up new 5er next Monday what do I need to know

Be sure to swing wide when you turn corners. The pivot point on a fifth wheel is in the center of your truck bed, versus on/near the bumper.

RE: Replaced Dometic with Whirlpool. Any use for old fridge?

I would remove the electronic parts. You may have a camping friend that will need a part in the future. I have also noted requests on the internet for door shelves from time to time.
