RE: Full-timing with an infant

We use a pack and play on the dinette for short trips but how long do YOU want to go to bed at the same time as a toddler. Could you pull a tagalong with your truck I saw some neat used ones at less than 30 ft that had 2 bedrooms. Some of the 1 bedroom ones have space in the BR for a packnplay. Sprinter and Keystone both make bunkhouse models under 30 feet for well under 40, in fact I think under 30 and that is for new ones. Good Luck

RE: Beware of Flying J

Also figure fresh fuel for dp, I like to stick with a company that will pay up if they blow my engine. We just did 7700 miles using almost all J's and none very few were higher than the competition. I always check fuel prices while on the road and skip any that were higher. They are usually 240 miles apart so works for us.

RE: Disney World Rv Parks

Tropical Palms or Lake Magic are your best bet. LL is about 40 mins from Main Gate, camping is back a long road in the park and gate is locked at night so have to access that also. Lake Magic is less expensive then TP but being near Old Town is nice. Thousand Trails is open to the public but Christmas is usually pretty full.

RE: I 81 closed both directions near Harrisburg PA

They have opened some ramps that were closed and you can get on the turnpike at several places toll free. Traffic is a real mess and backed up everywhere with folks looking for alternate routes. We are going to use Rt 15 to get to Hershey.

RE: Traveling from Florida to Los Angeles, California

Tonk Mom, Dockweiler has three rows beachfront $65, middle 60 and back 55. Golden Shores at Long Beach is further away and is 55 to 64 dollars a night plus one dollar per day for dogs. Anywhere near LA is pricy.

RE: Traveling from Florida to Los Angeles, California

Try to get into the County park on the beach , Dockweiler at Playa Del Rey Closest to LA.Since they close for maintenance during Jan, we stayed at Long Beach at Golden Shores which is a very nice pricy park not in a bad part of town. If you are an Elk there is a club with hook ups in Torrance but we were traveling with others. We just traveled from PA to Los Angeles to FL to home 7700 miles using mostly Passport America parks. The one in Las Cruches is near Old Town Mesina which has the wonderful La Posta Mexican restaurant. We stayed in Gulf Springs, AL. Boerne (near SA) Benson, Ft Stockton, Yuma, Quartzite,Desert Hot Springs, in PPA parks and in a county Park in Little Rock, Arkanas.

RE: Florida State Park Road Trip

Lake Louisa is about 14 miles from Disney. You can go to Disney Downtown, you can get a sandwich at the Earl of Sandwich (6.99-8.99) walk up to Giardellies and get a free sample of candy. If you have children with you, they will like the Legos and the water spouts.

RE: Gps for motorhome

You still need to use a map as none are perfect. Just did 10,000 miles with my Nuvi 2555 and found 1/2 dozen mistakes about the same as my old 450. I also have Streets and Trips and I print out the way I want to go..

RE: Planning for next year...Orlando Area

18 miles S of Disney is a private park Westview Ridge in Haines City. Sites rent for around 350 a month plus electric. There are usually sites available in both the dog and no dog section. A number of Disney employees live there. You can only stay in the state park for 2 weeks. Thousand Trails rents monthly to non members, it is about 10 miles from west gate, Lake Magic about 7 miles, Sherwood Forest is close but sites are small. Many parks around, listed as Davenport, Haines City, Kississmee, check on rvparkreviews.com Deer Park owners also rent out for around $600 a month. Good Luck

RE: Replacement Water Filter Cartridge

I drain it , put in a plastic bag and store in frige, used to put a teaspoon of bleach into it before I had extra frige storage. I only change it about every 2 years.

RE: Tow behind

http://www.fmca.com/motorhome/towing/204 this is the site that lists towable cars. You need to see if you have a 5000 lb or a 3500 lb receiver. You should always tell what model MH you have. Most have a 5000 lb. When we had our 32 foot V10 we towed a 3500 lb Chevy Cavalier. Check your car owners manual under dinghy towing, you may already own something you can tow. Good Luck

Put a review on service reviews listing the name of the CW you went to. We had poor service in DC and that one went out of business.
