Campground with tours near Boston

I gave all my books away when we sold the big rig, have new on order but thought I would ask on here. We are going to NS and will be near Boston but have never taken a tour and we aren't taking the toad. Suggestions anyone. Thx

RE: What do you do about dirty clothes?

NOT a good idea to use a black garbage bag, use a popup hamper or mesh bag for storage instead. My cousins dad very helpfully put her 3 kids clothes out for the trash after they came home from a trip.

RE: Resort Fees

We have paid resort fees for short term stays but $10 is way out of line. We have paid 3-4 but at only a few times over the past 20 years. If you are a monthly renter, they shouldn't be charging any fee as that should be reflected in your rent.

Any campground suggestions for Renfro Valley KY

And could we get away with not taking a toad or is parking at the venues really tight.

RE: RVI2 or Blue Ox Patriot

We use a Patriot, it replaced our old Brake Buddy. Like the fact that you can transfer to another car.

RE: Towing

We used a transmission pump on a 98 Chevy Venture Van that we towed some years ago. We have a Town and Country but don't tow it. Our friends tow theirs on a dolly.

RE: Pilot GS Discount

Get the RV credit card, 5 cents off gas. We always used Flying J and still do even though we aren't 56 feet long anymore. Easy in and out, good coffee and we stayed overnight many times. There are a couple of bad ones, only a few, don't use the one at the Breeze Wood interchange on PA turnpike. It's small and the road is bad. Your RV credit card is good at the Pilot stations too but they don't have the special RV islands.

RE: what do you guyd do with short rv's with rear corner beds

We downsized to a 24' with a corner bed. I just crawl over DH when I get up. We started with a tent then popup, 3 trailers , one with a corner bed, 3 MH's each bigger, went from diesel with everything to this little one, I am 78 and no problem but do use a Travelsack.

RE: Florida Seasonal Camping

Traffic on 441 and 19 is usually pretty bad in winter. We stay near Haines City, 18 miles S of Disney. Traffic isn't really bad on 27 and there is lots to do in the park itself and near several bike trails and shopping. Winter Haven, Lake wales, Sebring, all have many campgrounds that offer reasonable seasonal rates and you are less than an hour from either coast.

RE: Campground help needed for June trip to Alaska by RV

Don't forget the service clubs, Elks, Legions, VFW, most have campgrounds. When we were there 5 years ago we only stayed in a campground every 3rd day to dump and fill up with water. We had a 36 ft Class A a that time and there were lots of pull offs where you could overnight. We would stop and by morning there would be several other rigs there.

Update on E 350 handling problems.

Finally took the rig and had it weighed, set the front at 55 lb and the back at 60, could have gone a little lower but the rig wasn't packed for a trip so went for the higher air. It was still wandering so we had an alignment done. The caster was only 3 so he bumped it up and the front wheels were way off, apparently it wasn't aligned when they put the new tires on. Now it is driving great, not so much correction.

RE: Steering play in E350

We need to get it weighed and check the charts, DH has it at 65 which I think is to high for this little unit, then off to the garage for alignment. I hooked the car up to see what it would do and when it lightened up the front end , it was a thrill ride. Thanks

Steering play in E350

We have a 2012 24V on a 2011 chassis. We have a lot of wandering and steering seems loose. The unit has 14,000 miles on it. Is this a known problem with this chassis? Anyone had this issue?

RE: Buying a Rental Class C. How many of us out there? (Long)

Our 24 foot rental did not come from CA but from a private dealer so it has electric steps a hitch and an awning. It also only had 14,000 miles. It all depends on what you are going to use it for. We had a pusher with all the bells and whistles and lived in it in the winter. Now all we want to do are camping trips and cross country trips so we can handle small quarters and don't mind leaving it sit for months at a time. We don't miss all the maintenance that we had on the big rig so there are pros and cons depending on what you plan to do. I'm sure on a rainy day with 3 of our great grands it will seem really small. lol I'm looking forward to see how it tows our Vue this summer with the tow-haul I hope it will have enough power.

RE: Traveling without a spare tire

We took 2 class A's to Alaska, both mounted on a rim, didn't need them but felt it was good insurance. Have one on our lil C too.

RE: Safety in the RGV

Tom that is FL too, we always look to see if cars are stopped before we enter intersections. That said we own property in FL but until recently always stayed in the Vally every 3rd year and sometimes more often.. We never felt unsafe in the Mission area but always took the same precautions that we take here near Orlando.

RE: Dentures made in Progreso, Mexico?

I had a Valplast partial made at the Apple clinic 6 years ago. My home dentist commented on the excellent work that was done.

RE: Tow Bars

Blue Ox, be careful buying used, we traded ours in after 100,000 miles as we were concerned about metal fatigue. We have had both the Brake Buddy and the Blue Ox Brake, both are nice in that you can change them between different cars.

RE: winter road south

I would stay off 81, lots of mountains. We sometimes take 81 home in the spring. We need to return North next week and will stick to 95 when coming back in January. Usually warmer on the coast, although we did hit a snowstorm on 95 one year. Learned never to get off 95 in North or South Carolina, they have no equipment in that area.
