RE: Thousand Trails and FHU availability?

We have been to almost all the TT campgrounds in the past 18 years, the only ones as I remember that we didn't have FHU was Bend and Morgan Hill. Most on the East coast, aka Hershey, Orlando are all FHU except the tent sites. That said, since ELS bought TT out, they have really pushed annual and seasonal sites and the best are being taken by those people. In Orlando you used to get a number on arrival and you could choose a site, now with the ride around system it is very difficult for a big rig to find a site. Even the 3 month people are complaining as they get bumped off a site for someone buying an annual. Still the best deal around, where else can you camp for 10 to 15 a night.

RE: Harrisburg Pa campgrounds

Check out campgrounds in Carlisle, there may be some halfway between Carlisle and Harrisburg. You could also stay at Hershey, not far from Hbg,

RE: Sleeping on a folding sofa/bed

Just checked that 24M floorplan, it has a full queen sofa so foam or mattress would work, looks like a great model. We took a short maiden voyage with our 24v this weekend and it fits anywhere, parked in a friends driveway, wouldn't have done that with our old 26,000 lb unit'

RE: Sleeping on a folding sofa/bed

The Winnebago 24V has a queen corner bed that works, put the one who doesn't get up at night in the back, and a dinette and the overhead bed.Our last 2 MH's were large Class A that we crossed the US several times and Alaska pulling a toad. Now we plan to do it again minus the car. We had the rest easy sofa on the last 2, I folded a towel for the center then covered with an eggshell. Guests said it was comfy but a queen air mattress would work then deflate in the am. Good Luck

RE: Looking to buy Used Class C - Question on NADA values

NADA only includes the standard , not optional equipment. If it is in very good condition with many options offer him less than he is asking then go from there Someone suggested new, well new depreciates when you drive it off the lot and someone else can deal with any issues that need fixed. Only 2 of our 7 trailers were new and 1 of our 4 MH's. If any of the rigs have Michelin 16' tires Jan 2010 thru June 2012 check the Michelin recall site, I just bought a 2012 C that has 2014 tires on it because they were probably in the recall as it only has 14,000 miles on the odometer.Good Luck

RE: Buying a Rental Class C. How many of us out there? (Long)

To Boxin, I ran the gen set under load for several hours as part of my PDI. was mistaken, antenna is powered. We have found nothing wrong with this unit, 14,129 miles and 1600 was from the factory. Bought from a local dealership. I did buy a one year warranty in case there is something in the power train that we don't know about. CCC is limited at 1385 but we will just be doing short trips. Will have it weighed next week when we go on a trip to W VA to check for correct air in tires and weight. Winnebago does a good job on side to side balance. Anxious to check this one. We paid $$35,000 for it and the Majestics we checked in FL stripped down and higher millage were around that. Hope we got a good one.

RE: CL scams

I sold a 240Z and our 2004 Journey on Craigs List. You can usually tell if someone is a scammer, that same Class C was on our Craigs List several weeks ago. I emailed where could I see it and got the old shipping routine lol

RE: Buying a Rental Class C. How many of us out there? (Long)

I am glad I found this thread, I am buying a 24 VR Winnebago Chalet with 14,000 miles. I will not pay for the unit until I have spent a day using all the systems. It is not fully stripped down, has ladder, electric step, fan, ducted air and power windows and mirrors. This is not our first MH and after having 2 new motor homes in the last 15 years , it will be nice not losing a chunk when we drive it off the lot. I test drove it on the back roads and at highway speed, It seems to handle well. I can live with the corner bed, had one on a trailer, It will sleep 6 adults. Only thing we don't like is the Jenson TV and the non powered antenna. Wish us luck

Michelin Tire Recall

I'm buying a 2012 Class C with the 16 inch tires. I just read on another thread about a recall on some of those tires. Where do I go to check the numbers. Thx

RE: Corner Bed Help?

We had a corner bed once and used a Travasak but they are pricy and the sheets are really big for your washer. Now that we are looking for a C, if we like everything else, I can live with a corner bed.

RE: Aadvice on a gas C or B Plus

Thx for all the suggestions. We always go to the Hershey show. I guess I was fishing for known problems with certain models. We will be looking at the 4 winds if they have one with a fiberglass roof. Might even go Fleetwood now that they have their act together. I've heard that the brite tec roof holds up pretty well. Our last 2 Class A's were Winnebago but don't want to tie too much money up at this stage in our lives. I've been watching for used. We took the big loss on 5 new units and we won't be using this unit that much. Am even going to look at trailer hybreds if they have one light enough for our Town and Countr

Aadvice on a gas C or B Plus

We are downsizing from our pusher which we sold in March. Would like to have a small unit that will sleep 6 and have seatbelts for 6 so we can do trips with gkids in a unit that I will help drive. Don't need full body paint, but want jacks. How about the 4 Winds? Pros or cons, we saw a 2015 that would be reasonable w/o the power awning and paint. Thx
