RE: Lynchburg, VA Campgrounds?????

It was the Issak Walton that was $8/night. Are they membership? Why so cheap?
Dunno -- never been there, although I have driven past. And it is my understanding that Issak Walton does require a membership.
Either Paradise Lake or Issak Walton should be a doable cab ride. Walton is closer in distance, but Paradise is down a 60 mph highway. I recon which works better will depend on where the concert is.
I don't know the address off hand but it's at Phase 2....some sort of venue.

RE: Lynchburg, VA Campgrounds?????

Depends on how far you want to be from Lynchburg. You are within a 45 minute drive from Holiday Lake State Park, Smith Mountain Lake State Park and James River State Park.
Want to be as close as possible, as I'm sure my party will be drinking so we'll probably have to pay a cab for our ride back.

RE: Lynchburg, VA Campgrounds?????

There is an Issak Walton park in Amherst County, just north of Madison Heights. It is a little closer to the city center. All other campgrounds are farther away. Paradise Lake has been back and forth with the membership thing for years. Last I knew they did take non-member campers, but not at the $8 rate. Which ever you wind up at, enjoy the concert, and welcome to my town.

Lynchburg, VA Campgrounds?????

Anybody have any good references for CG's in Lynchburg, VA? Planning on going up there in June to see a concert. Think I've seen a "paradise lake" CG, which looks okay but it's about 25 minutes fromthe venue. Also, there is an Isaac Walton chapter CG?????? This place looks okay but wondering if it requires some sort of membership b/c the rate is only like $8 per night for w/e/s. ????

RE: Rusty at backing up TT

put your hand on the bottom ofthe wheel and push the way you want the trailer to go.
This is the method I used to learn and to this day still use it when I'm rusty. Hands on bottom of wheel...left if trailer needs to go that way....right if the other.

RE: spray lube on hitch????

I just wear old clothes ;) And thanks for all the responses guys. As always, I end up where I started, so in this case, I think I'm gonna keep using my handy lithium grease / grease gun. Seems like the best protection for my hitch. I am NOT going to take my dealer's service guys advice to just carry a bottle of wd40 around with you everywhere. ;)

RE: spray lube on hitch????

Been using the stuff in this jar for years...Teflon.
One jar lasts forever.

This reminds me of a buddy who refused to tow without it:
After working on a racecar to get it ready all day, we start loading up to go. All of a sudden, my buddy stops the loading procedure and yells into the quiet night: "honey! Where's my ball lube?!?!?!"
haha...funny story!!! That looks like a good product....I assume it doesn't turn black and ruin clothes???? Can that be bought off a shelf somewhere???? Wally world???

RE: spray lube on hitch????

Never used anything and I never will. never had a problem.
Same here. No need to put anything on them. I've never worn anything out in MILES of towing.
Are we talking just the ball or the spring bars as well? I can't imagine not putting anything on the bars. Manufacturer's reccomendation.......?????? Seems to me that's a LOT of metal-on-metal movement to not use a lube.

RE: spray lube on hitch????

Thanks for all the info guys. I DO currently use a heavy grease....just keeps getting dirty and then ends up on kids or wifes clothes or skin before I get around to cleaning it. Just looking for a cleaner option. Might look into the white lithium.

spray lube on hitch????

I have another question that has probably been beat to death but I can't get anythign to come up in my searches.
Is it okay to use a dry silicone spray lube for my hitch ball and WD components? I've been using actual grease applied with a gun and then rubbed all over. Seems like overkill if I can just give her a quick spritz with some silicone spray. ???

RE: Shock replacement question

So how did the Bilsteins help the ride? More stable? Less bounce? More compliant?
Most importantly the truck is much more responsive...better turning, handling, and control overall. Also seemed to cover up a lot of "shakiness" when I hit hard bumps...seems to take the hit better without feeling like my dash is going to jump off into my lap....very important for me considering that I have load range E tires. Truck rides like a truck now. I'm very satisfied thus far.

RE: allshocks

Did you try eshocks.com, they were the least expensive place that I found.
Thanks for that man!!! That was good timing. I've been procrastinating and finally decided to pull the trigger this a.m. eshocks.com had everybody beat....$445 for all four shocks w/ shipping included. Couldn't be happier.
Thanks for all the help guys.

Has anyone ever bought from Allshocks.com???? I can get my shocks of choice about $40 cheaper from there vs. 4wheelparts. I usually tend to sway away from unknown or unpopular vendors...have had bad experiences. Any advice????
