RE: Best Truck Camper - Opinions and Advice Wanted

For a F250 I would suggest looking at a Bigfoot 1500. I have to agree you should not be thinking about a slide with a 3/4 ton truck. But look at several campers beacuse they are all good, Northern-lite, Lance, Wolf Creek 850, etc. You will be surpriced at what you like and dislike about each. Paul

RE: what do ya think...another suspension post

There are more differences between the F250 and the F350 than people write about. I believe you would have been a lot happier with the F350 and thats coming from a Chevy guy. But if you already have the F250, I hope it works out for you. Paul

RE: georgia wallmart

I never take free parking for granite, I always go in the store and ask. I know you don't have too, but I always feel better asking. Paul

Travel Ideas for the winter months

Hi Everyone: We are looking for a place or places we can take our Truck camper too for the winter months next season. We live in Ontario, Canada and need to go somewhere warmer. Been to Florida and looking for somewhere different. Any suggestions or recommeded campsites welcome. Paul

RE: Looking for AF 996 owners feedback

You are not going to get by with a SRW truck. The camper dry is almost 4000#. The web site shows 3339# then you have to add the mandatory Fox value package that is 595#. This puts you at 3934# dry. If you plan on having batteries, propane, AC, generator, water and then some personal items you are going to be bumping up against 5000# if not over. There is now way I would ever want that much on a SRW truck, there are some people carrying this size camper but I wouldn't feel comfortable with it. My camper is about 3700# ready to camp on a F350 SRW with 19.5 tires and a rig that is rated at 11200# GVWR (one of the biggest GVWR on a SRW with a gas engine). I am over my GVWR by 300# but I was not over on my rear tires but I wanted some additional capacity for when I start pulling my trailer. Not a big one either I well most likely only be about 2500# also. The floor length is 10' so you well either need an extend hitch or an extended trailer frame. X2

RE: SRW diesel truck choices

My camper wet weight is 3700 lbs and I carry it on a 2011 Chevy 3500 SRW Crew Cab shortbox diesel with no problems. I added 19.5 to my truck. Paul

RE: Overall Height on Northern Light or Bigfoot 2500

My 2500 Bigfoot on my truck is 11.5 feet. My garage opening is at 14 feet. You need room to get the camper off the truck. Paul
