RE: Goodyear RV Tire site pressures sound right?

To the OP: The are the pressures the chart said I should run. I added 5 lbs. and have been doing that for 9 years with no problems.

RE: WIND!!

At M/Beach: Daytime temps are in the mid to upper 60s. Night time; last night 55. Right now at 9:30pm; 62 and very windy. I think normal daytime temps are mid to upper 70s this time of May.

WIND!!

We're at Ocean Lakes, Myrtle Beach. I wonder when this wind is going to stop. Also when will it get warmer.

RE: Koni FSDs - how many miles do you have on them?

Are your rear and front shocks the same? My Koni fronts are different from the rears.

RE: Black tank exit

If you slightly loosen the bolts that hold the valve you could rotate the valve.

RE: Sears 125PSI Air Compressor

Does the OP have a 12V compressor or a 120V? I use a 120 volt for 22.5" tires and it works great and fast. If I would need it on the road I would run my genny and plug it in.

RE: Back in the day

Our family made a cross country trip in 1959 in dad's '56 Ford Country Squire wagon. It was a V8. Dad bought a swamp cooler for the desert travel. We went in August of '59. The swamp cooler mounted on the outside of a door window and you pulled a string to rotate the sponge medium to keep it wet. It wasn't 12volt powered; only powered by the forward motion of the car. We slept at night on the roof of the car in a a fold out car top "camper" that my dad made. There were four of us. We went to the west coast and back to PA travelling for 4 weeks.

RE: Leveling a class A DP

Roadpilot is correct. With Monaco/Holiday Ramblers you lower the front first. If the front is high to start with just lower the stabilizer enough to take some of the weight. Then lower the rears.

RE: I am new...what did I do

Just a question about the Neptune: Does it have the 4 bag suspension or the 8 air bags? If the 4 bags it might have a trailing arm issue. Others on this site have a lot of info on this issue such as what years were involved, etc.

RE: two 6 volt golf kart Batt. Enough power for slide & gen.?

Have had 2 6volt deep cycle batteries for the past 9 years and they work just fine for slide outs and starting the generator.

RE: Shore battery selection/setup

I've never been at a rest stop or Wal-Mart where runnung a genny is frowned upon; people do it all the time; rvers and truckers. Now campgrounds are a different story.

RE: to toad or not to toad

During our breakdown a long way from home we were without the use of the m/home for about a week while parts were ordered and the repair work was being done during labor day weekend. We used the toad for day trips and to get us to a town where we could get cell phone service when the breakdown occured. We would never leave home without our toad!

RE: West Virginia campgrounds

A couple of summers ago we were at Pipestem. It's a great park. When we arrived in the afternoon there was hardly anyone there and it was so quiet we felt like we had to whisper when we talked outside. During the weekend the campground filled up.
Canaan Valley was also great. Every morning there were several deer within a few feet of our door and they watched me take our dog for a walk.

RE: electric shades for window in RV

I can't see through ours. Even with remote you would still have to have wiring installed to the electric shades. You just wouldn't have a switch to be wired.

I guess Monaco finally wised up. Our H/Rambler Ambassador has a separate water filter faucet...from the factory.

RE: electric shades for window in RV

Our electric windshield shades are from Carefree of Colorado. Our m/home and info are not here at the house. You could google them and get info.

RE: Vehicles that you've owned that are no more.

We had a Ford Pinto and a '78 Olds 88 diesel. Also a '55 Thunderbird.
My dad had a Oakland (from the 30's I think), a '37 LaSalle and later an AMC Gremlin. Also a '37 Packard.

RE: Central PA to Cape Hatteras, OBX

We traveled the Hampton Roads tunnels several times with no problem. Just be aware that you must pull over in a designated area and turn off your propane. There was a guy there to witness that it was turned off.
