RE: New Format

Another vote for the old format, but this is not really a democracy is it? The bills gotta be paid someway.

RE: Need help, homemade rubber roof cleaner!

I just cleaned mine, used 1/2 cup of Maguires clear car wash, three cap-fulls bleach in a three gallon bucket of water. Used a long handle car wash brush and a bristle broom. It worked great, it is blinding white again. I could have bought a special roof cleaner, but I just decided to use what I had on hand.

RE: Light Switch unknown? '00 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Vision

In my 1999 Pace Arrow Vision, that switch turns on the light above the recliner just to the right as you enter the door. The light is actually mounted on the bottem of the overhead cabinet and has a rotary switch on the rear of the light fixture. I leave the fixture switch in the on position and turn the light off and on with the panel switch you asked about.

RE: Mail Forwarding Sevice

We use SBI mail service in Green Cove Springs, FL, they do a lot more than just handle your mail and they scan the envelopes and put them on your net box so you can see them and have them destroy what you don't want. Google SBI Mail service. We move a lot in the summer.

RE: Roof repair

If you have a fiberglass fabricator in your area, they would be able to shoot a layer of fiberglass on your roof and it shouldn't cost all that much. I had some marine plywood that I was using to replace a deck in a boat fiberglassed on both sides to waterproof it, that is not that different from your roof.

RE: Length of units

Trust me, get the biggest thing you can afford. We do fine in a 36 footer but if you are going to do any kind of business you will need all the space you can get. JMHO

RE: GFCI in fault

Just to update, I tried the reset again just before I went to bed last night and it did reset. I am plugged into one of the downstream outlets now so it seems to be ok now.
I am leaning toward moisture in the outside outlet or a worn reset mechanism. I stopped by a builder's supply here in Cleveland, GA and picked up a new one in case it trips again, I will just go ahead and change it out.
Once again, thanks to all that posted their thoughts and to those who gave me the benefit of their knowledge.

Thanks for all the help guys, now I can sleep tonight, I tend to panic a little when something goes wrong with the coach and it has always turned out to be not much.

RE: GFCI in fault

I like that Dennis, I was just concerned that it would damage something else if I waited. I know how to do what you suggested, I will just unplug the shore line so I won't get lexicuted.

RE: FISHTAILING TOW DOLLY ?

JawPaint, I have the same dolly and the book specifies 18 inches from the top of the ball to the ground for correct towing angle.
Bob
When I first started using mine, I had to find a 4" drop tow bar.

RE: GFCI in fault

Tropical36, your plain english was very helpful in figuring out what to do, Malibufam, I understood what you were telling me but didn't know how to follow your instructions. I have always been afraid of electricity even though I understand it, it is irrational, I know, but in the light of day, I probably could get up enough nerve to try this.

RE: GFCI in fault

OK guys, I don't know much about electricity and you are both over my head with these tests. Everything else is functioning properly, we have been in this park for 6 weeks, nothing was going on when the thing tripped the first time. The only thing plugged in was this laptop. Nothing moved, nothing did anything and suddenly, the thing tripped. I am now plugged into another outlet and no problems for about an hour now. The other circuit is still in fault and it seemed to happen without a reason.
Since this is not a critical circuit, do you think it is ok to leave it till I get to my winter quarters in FL?

RE: GFCI in fault

I just checked and yes, the outside plug is on that circuit. It is insulated from the side of the coach with a rubber gasket. The drain from my fridge is in the grill above that plug and water runs down the side of the coach from that drain and around that gasket. It was that way since I bought the coach about 14 months ago without a problem but that is a place for me to look tomorrow. I just tried to reset again and it popped right back out so there is either a dead short in the circuit or the GFCI is faulty. Thanks for the info, I guess it won't be a problem to leave it in fault as that stops the electricty, somebody correct me if I am wrong about that.
Thanks again
