RE: Need help with hood locks - pictures included

Cam Lock
This item on Ebay might work for you. If you don't need a lock, there are also Thumb Latch Cam locks available on Ebay.

RE: Full-timing with an infant

The problem I had with a toddler is all the switches in a Class A. I can remember my son hitting the air horns at 2 am. Another favorite stunt was to start the generator (or at least crank it over) from the bedroom convenience switch.

RE: Kelderman Air Ride

As others have said, have the factory do the install. Proper installation and correct ride height is key to a great ride especially with a Ford chassis.

RE: F53 Oil Change

I use a wide mouth funnel which drains directly into a Tide liquid laundry detergent container that is approximately 2 gallon size. Learned along time ago to only buy oil in quarts to do oil changes on gas engines.

RE: Inexpensive Kids Toys? Foam Planes, etc.....

Miniature cars and trucks like Hot wheels or Matchbox. The $5 each at the dollar store sounds like a great idea!

RE: States with the lowest Gas Taxes

Using "Gas Buddy", I now plan my fuel stops based on states and counties with the lowest fuel prices. I have saved anywhere from .10 to .60/gallon and estimate an average savings of $.30/gallon with a little planning.

RE: Onan Genset failure. What are my options.

The following clicky is a method to re-energize a generator. I have not tried it but thought it might be useful.

RE: Smallest but a good bbq.

Weber Go Anywhere Gas Grill is my choice. First one lasted 22 years and just bought a replacement this year. Walmart sells it online for about $60.

Ford 1991 Cruise Control Cable

The cable between the vacuum servo and FI throttle, P/N E7UZ9A825C broke and I have been unable to locate a replacement through Ford, Ebay, Amazon or Craigslist. Does anyone know of a source for this part or has been successful using a similar part with modifications? Any help greatly appreciated.

RE: The big 'cut-off'.....

Some people do not want to follow behind a Motorhome no matter what their speed is.Several times on my most recent trip I had people pass me and then reduce their speed causing me to slow down or pass.

RE: Fly into Ouray/Silverton/Durango, Rent RV ???

They could always rent a Kamping Kabin at the KOA. Probably more economical than renting an RV.

RE: Getting through my gates

Wait for a gap in traffic and use the other lane. People behind you will have to wait. Not an ideal solution but it is better than damaging your equipment.

RE: Tips on cold winter camping

You will do fine! I just returned from camping in a 3 season Class A in weather colder than your forecast. Take a couple electric heaters to supplement the furnace and reduce LP consumption. I would shower in a bath house if available to reduce condensation in the RV. If one is not available, use the shower midday when the sun is out which will greatly reduce condensation.

RE: New tires?

I have run Michelins for 22 years without a problem. Whatever tire you decide, shop around and negotiate. I was able to reduce my tire cost by 25% as compared to the average asking price in the Chicago Metro area.
