RE: Sway caused accident on I-75

A Chevy Avalanche towing a 30' trailer???
X2 but the dealer and the tv commercial told me it will pull anything
What's the issue? It's the same thing as a crew cab short box truck that millions are towing with.

RE: Garmin Unveils 1st Navigation Device for RVers

I just spoke to a representative about my order.
He said many people have called in to reinstate their orders but now Garmin is going to just automatically reinstate all orders....so a phone call in to them is not necessary.
People who placed orders should get an email in the next day or two detailing the reinstated order.
He said there were some 1,500 orders to reinstate.
When I reordered mine..they said they have no CC info once orders are cancelled

Replaced my order!!!! They are even offering FREE shipping with orders over 100.00
Garmin is going to honor all orders placed saturday, but you have to call them... Customer service said Saturday prices were employees prices.
Good on you Garmin.

AFATG money hasn't changed hands until the CC bill is paid.
What if you carry a balance and charge a Garmin:h

RE: Black Warer Tank Q

After dumping the tank I run the sprayer but with the dump valve closed. I know that's not what's recommended but it's what I do.
I do the same.. Any reason why it's not recommended? Mine has a warning label.. Seems to be the easiest way to fill the tank when flushing.
So someone doesn't flood their camper?

RE: No refund from Terry Bison Ranch

If it were my son returning there would not be a second thought about losing
$160 for a campsite reservation.Being there to greet him would be worth infinitely more than any campsite fee.
Forget the fee ! Enjoy the fact that your son came home alive!
I am really suprised that it seems like I am the only one to think this way.Camping/RVing is fun,but come on folks...5 tours and a son
or daughter returns home and a $160 refund is important ? I don't get it !
x2..Well said

RE: How Long Should I have to wait for a title??

It would not be without precedence that an owner financed a unit personally. I have done it. If you are looking at a deal with a substantial profit, a large down-payment, a high interest rate, and a buyer you feel confident you can find it can be a good investment.
As long as the OP has possession of the RV and has the paper trail proving the payments made, there is little chance he will not get the title eventually. It is a little tacky for it to take this long to finalize the payoff but there could well be complications we are not aware of.True, but even in those rare instances, the vehicle will be titled to the individual and the dealership (or another entity the dealer owns) will be shown as the lienholder. You wouldn't make the check out to the dealer himself, in the dealer's name. The dealer's accountant would scream bloodly murder if the checks were coming in under the dealer's personal name. It would be a nightmare sorting out personal and business dealings and a grand invitation to an IRS audit.
Another red flag is this quote from happybooker from the previous thread. she bought the TT 10-9-09 and as 2-20-10 no plates
I HAVE been using it -- it's insured so no problem there. It just doesn't have current license plates -- still got the dealer plates on it.
IF a cop ever stops me for the 'expired' license plates -- well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it I guess. I'm camping in it this weekend!

RE: RV Season is beginning

I just think it's funny that "RVing" has a "season." :) Why would you spend that much money and then not use your rig just b/c it's cold? It's not like you're actually "camping" if you have a shower and microwave on board!
But then, I go backpacking in Colorado winters so I'm a little weird that way.
Not everyone has 4 season rv's

RE: RV Season is beginning

Got to the local Wal Mart just before 3 this afternoon. 2 Class A's in the front of the parking lot, slides out and awnings deployed. Guess they were getting an early start to the evening. Interesting, these people would choose to camp at Wally World when they can camp in the shade with water and electric for under $20 a night at the local fair grounds.
No pics?

RE: Dump station questions

..Most of the state parks do not offer full hook ups...
Not sure what states you travel in but I spend most of my time on the road, staying at state, county, municipal and COE campgrounds. I have FHU almost all of the time.
You haven't been to WI state parks then
To answer the question, the second one is the most common dump station. And please DO YES A SEWER HOSE. Don't be like the other lazy people

RE: RV Antifreeze

That's pretty piss poor service..you bring it to them to do it right and they screw it up and they don't want to make it right. And yes ask to see the clear antifreeze that doesn't exist
keep on them, I think they will make it right
If they don't pay you...DO NOT buy the valve from them

RE: Hail damage insurance claim

If the insurance company were to total it, you usually can have first dibs to buy it for the scrap value, which is usually pocket change.
Depends how much change is in your pocket..ours was $1200 to buy back
