RE: how to persuade wife to camp?

Buy a camper with a comfortable couch.
Kidding aside, what does she say that she doesn't like about camping?

RE: Please advise on gold panning trip

Sacramento has a light rail system, you could use if you need to park far afield. Folsom is just one place that has a station. The light rail does go downtown. Kids would probably like that.

RE: Please advise on gold panning trip

What routes are you taking? Every town along 49 is going to have cute places to eat or have ice cream. Can't help ya on the flatland areas.
Sacramento at Cal-Expo has a huge water park. If it were me I would spend one day in Sacramento, the rest of the time along 49. Much nicer!

RE: Please advise on gold panning trip

Well off the top of my head...
You could really bring home the historical aspect of the California Gold Rush. Old town Sac, Train Museum, Sutters Fort, Crocker Art Museum. Very significant to California's history.
For thrills and excitement, there are plenty of river rafting outfits along the American River near Coloma.
How old are the boys?

RE: Memorial Day Mishaps????

Not exactly the weekend, but a few days before. Took our new rig for her maiden voyage to Bodega Bay. The winds out on the jetty were awful, hitting us broadside the rig was rocking bad. Freaky.

RE: Glad we can entertain you

Add me as another who likes to watch the kids having fun. Even the squeals and meltdowns make me sweetly nostalgic.
Glad you all had a good time, and good for you for being foster parents!
