RE: bedroom tv

Check that the cable for the bedroom TV is actually connected to the box and the TV.

Our Bounder has never given us the least bit of a problem in 10 years. That said, now watch it act up!

RE: Automatic steps

A rubber mallet to the motor sometimes does wonders for the steps. Also check the seperate ground wire running from the step brain to the chasis.

RE: Beware of Flying J

In Indiana, Ohio & Michigan Marathon Oil (Speedway) has a virtual monopoly and absolutely controls the prices, including all other brands as well. This has been written up in the newspapers in Ohio. So if at all possible I do not buy fuel for the MH in either of these states. We know Speedway as Greedway. I realize this thread is primarily about FJ and diesel, but just had to toss my 2 cents worth in.

RE: NYC campground recommendations

We stayed at Liberty Harbor a number of years ago, like fire instructor said, it's not much more than a parking lot with hookups. The view, however, of the Liberty Lady is magnificent from there though and it is close to city transportation. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

RE: Aerbus Roof Leak

The leak may very well be due to the A/C anchor screws being loose which allows it to leak under the seal. Take the inside shroud off, find 4 screws, one at each corner, you will likely find that one or more of them are loose. If so tighten them snug enough to slightly compress the seal. This could fix the leak, however, if they are loose and tightening them doesn't fix the leak it may need a new seal.

RE: Pioneer Museum in Minden Neb

Visited the Pioneer Museum in Minden just last fall. The campground and the museum really needs some TLC. That said we spent three days there and enjoyed the museum very much. The campground is adequate. Fellow in the office was a little sirley, but then that's not the first one, probably won't be the last.

RE: Question for Anyone with Southwind Ford V10

I disable the cruize on up-hill for this very reason. The cruize attempts to keep the speed uo to wherever it has been set, but when you hit a hill and speed falls off the cruize control essentually floors it resulting in downshift and high RPMs. It's trying to keep the speed to whatever it is set at, which it can't. Best to disable it before this occurrs.

As far as brands of gas goes. I am only loyal to my pocketbook. I try to buy the cheapest gas I can find, have never had a problem.

There is a campground practically on the beach at Cape Cod. Stayed there a few years ago, was pricey then so am sure it still is, but it was great!

RE: Quality of the new Fleetwood

Personally, I think Fleetwood did and still does build a very good product. Had some house problems initially, but ours has been solid since. Bought our signature rig new in April, 2003.

RE: Cable TV connection

I think you have a problem in the MH. Do you have an electrical outlet as part of the box that contains the cable & phone connectors? If so I would suspect that. TV cable carries nothing to get hot.

RE: Driving with air conditioner

Very rarely ever run the top-side A/C, dash air does just fine for us.
With respect to miles per day, we kind of suscribe to the 222 formula.
Two hundred miles per day.
Off the road by 2:00PM
No more than two days before laying over for a day.
