RE: Diesel TV as a Daily Driver

08 GMC 2500 Duramax, it has been my daily driver since I bought it new. It is the best vehicle I have ever had.

RE: Batteries

"which will last longer before they have to be recharged" That is a specific question that can entertain a specific answer. All other parameters aside, the battery or combination thereof that offers that highest AMP HOUR NUMBER will "last longer" before needing to be recharged. This is limited to "normal" cyclable battery usage and not applicable if a person wants to throw a three hundred ampere inverter draw onto the bank. Let's do a comparison. A pair of 115 amp hour group 29 cyclable batteries versus a one paralleled group of GC 220 batteries... While the two 29's equal 230 amp hours, the GC's offer 10 less. Yet the golf car batteries will last longer than the 29's if amperage draw is less than what is specified in the 20-hour rate. In short, the GC's will far outlast the pair of 29's with a 5-ampere load connected. I am glad the question was refined. It makes things a whole lot easier. Thanks, this is all I was after, a simple answer.

RE: Batteries

O.K. I did not ask about the best religion, coffee ect. I simply asked which is better 2- 6 volts or 2-12 volts, which will last longer before they have to be recharged, I do not care about weight, brands, or cost or will they still be good years from now. I have room for 2 batteries and I'm trying to decide weather to go with 2-6ers or 2 12ers. Thank you

Batteries

Which works better; 2 6volts or 2 12volts, as I do a fair bit of dry camping in our 28 foot Cougar Thank you

RE: Diesel Additives ?

Again I ask, where do you guys get this information, there is no difference in diesel sold in Canada or the U.S. The auto industry and fuel industry are pretty much integrated as one! The trucks have to be able to operate in each country with out problems.

RE: Diesel Additives ?

I did answer the question, you do not have to use anything, but if it makes you sleep better at night go ahead.

RE: Diesel Additives ?

Wow! I don't know where people you get your information from, who ever is telling you all this about fuel additives, and all these ceremonies you should preformed before you drive your truck are totally wrong. This is my 7th winter with my Duramax in northern Alberta, all I have ever done is get in and drive, no fuel additives ever! Oh by the way, oil changes are about $90.00 and you get twice the mileage as a car before you have to change your oil. I feel for the O.P. as he probably is totally confused and will buy a gasser and never come to appreciate the pleasure of towing with a diesel.

RE: thoughts drilling battery box on A-frame for 2nd battry

A couple of holes is not going to do any damage to the frame or void your warranty although many will say otherwise, or do as the other poster said weld a couple of angles to the frame. People are going to chime in and say do not weld on the frame as it will weaken it, the whole frame is put together by welding, either way you will be o.k.

Water Tastes Funny

Hello I have a 2011 Cougar trailer and I have a funny taste in my drinking water, it does not matter if the water comes form my holding tank or connected to city water which makes me think it is the plastic lines in the trailer. This is my second season using the trailer, I do not use antifreeze as I blow out the lines in the winter. Any thought on why this is happing would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

RE: 1500HD vs. 2500

Quick question.... Chevrolet 1500HD crew vs. 2500 crew - do they tow the same, given all other specs are similar?Quick answer: No they do not.

RE: 2011 Chevy 2500HD tranny temp

Lets see if I can give you a simple answer, 225 degrees is fine, you don't need to rebuild your transmission or put new sensors in or any thing like that. If you are still not sure ask your dealer they will be able to give you the correct answer.

RE: Diesel vs. v-10 useage costs.

I think some key elements have been overlooked. Diesel fuel is now less expensive than gasoline here. Length of useable life comparison of the two engines. I suspect the mileage differenceI don't care what kind of spin you put on this, diesel is the best way to go! Did you sit up all night trying to come up with this formula? Take a look at diesels from 2007 and on,no we do not pay $200.00 for oil changes, fuel is cheaper, gas engines require more maintenance than diesels period. is larger than you expect.
