RE: Ram Hemi fuel mileage

I have a 2004 1500 2wd 3.92 gears and the 20in tires. According to my mileage keeper app on my phone, I average 13.5mpg per tank.

RE: Used truck choice.

I was able to drive the 07 dodge with the 5.9l. It was an awesome truck but price was an issue and he wouldn't budge. I might check out the 08 today but having a bad feeling that with the popularity of these trucks and the high cost of a new one, I may be out of luck. I am not ruling them out but I think i am going to shift my focus to something older, with a few more miles on it. I have seen a few nice F-series 4x4 crew cabs in my area in the $10k to $16k range with the 7.3l. Mileage varies. I havent seen GM truck that fits into my price range with less than 100k miles. On another note, and possibly should be a new thread. I am curious about the new F150 4x4 with the 5.0 They seem to be heavily discounted right now. More so then the eco-boost versions. How would this compare to my Dodge? I know the hp/tq numbers are similar but not sure how tranmissions or gearing would be. Better, worse, same?

RE: Used truck choice.

Thanks for the replies. I know I do not want a Ford 6.0. I did not know the 2002 and early 2003 had a different transmission. 75% of my driving is city driving but I do make trips to the desert and to our cabin in the mountains. I have considered a gas motor and have not 100% ruled it out but I think I want to try diesel. Unless the perfect gas truck comes along at an unbelieveable cheap price.

Used truck choice.

I currently own a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 with 150k miles. I am the original owner and overall this has been a great truck for me. It still runs excellent but a lot of little things are starting to break and looking to upgrade as there is a strong possibility of me getting a bigger, heavier trailer. Now I tow an 18ft Baja toyhauler, looking at a 26 footer now. I have actually been thinking about this for a while and feel the time has come. For the past year I have been looking at all types of trucks, diesel, gas, 2 vs 4 wheel drive, makes. I believe what I want/need is a crew cab, 4x4 diesel. Any make really as long as it is in good shape. Definately not new. Things I have considered are 1999-2002 f250-f350, 2002-2007 Chevy 2500hd/3500hd, and Dodge 2500/3500 2006 to ?. I know all of the trucks in these categories will suit me fine. I do have a couple questions. Budget is up to roughly 28k but would like to pay a lot less if possible. Depends on the truck. Question #1 Assuming both trucks are in the same condition and same options, what would you prefer. 2007 Dodge Mega cab 4x4 with the 5.9 or the 2008 Dodge Mega Cab 4x4 with 6.7? Trucks are priced $2000 difference. These are the top of my budget. #2 1999 F Series to 2002 F series- Is any one really better than the other or just find an nice clean one and be happy? Considerably less than the Dodges but with up to 100k more miles. Extra money can be used to upgrade or repair possibly worn parts. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: New Generator at Costco

I picked one up. Put gas and oil in it and it started on the 3rd pull. I have not used it camping yet but have used it around the house. So far so good.

RE: flexible hose as advertised on TV

I have one. It is ok. I like it because when the water is turned off, the hose is small and fits nicely in my kids beach sand bucket. It has to stay pressurized or else it will collapse and shrink. I can not use mine and heep the valve 100% open.
