Differential Temperatures

Ok so I added the transmission and differential temperature gauges along with the appropriate Mag Hytec pans. While I have seen transmission temperature range sheets I have yet to find one for differentials? I am also interested to see how much the temperature will increase when under tow from the added weight. So far the temperatures (trans. & diff.) are pretty much a mirror image of each other.

Weber Baby Q Griddle

Has any one purchased one of the accessory griddles for the Baby Q. The Weber website describes them as enamel coated cast iron which sounds great. I just wanted to see how they actually perform. Do they take ofrever to warm up, what have you cooked on it and how did it turn out?
Thanks in advance for comments

RE: Norcold Refrigerator

Interesting I have the 811? Norcold and has experienced the same thing but I am getting a fast flash on both lights on the door which according to the manual indicates it is not able to find AC power. The unit works great on LPG. I unplugged the shore power as suggested below because I know sometime with electronic items that will reset the system. Plugged it back in and it worked great on AC until we left to go to a campground where as soon as I hooked up I got the fast flash and the unit switched to LPG.

RE: Pot Luck "Duck"

As the OP I wanted to provide something that one of our group, not the "Duck" found on-line. Enjoy and hopefully we all found some form of answer to the puzzling question or at least could recall and similar experience and smile. This couple of ours will no doubt continue to go with the group as it was they left a day ahead of weveryone else and we all had a few chuckles at theri expense. All and all I guess we're even.
Potluck etiquette
I do enjoy a good potluck, but it is a quirky experience for the gourmand. By definition, you never know exactly what you're going to get. If your pot has some luck, you won't end up with 15 potato salads and one liter of Pepsi. Smarter potluck hosts take a little luck out of the equation by assigning courses to attendees.
But just assigning people a course still results in a hodgepodge of selections that may not mix well. On Thursday, we had a potluck at work and I had barbecue sauce running into my chicken enchiladas and green goddess dressing dripping onto my egg roll. I love a variety of ethnic foods but not necessarily all mixed on the same plate. Chefs give a lot of thought to how foods go together. There's a reason you can't order sashimi at Olive Garden and you can't get pepperoni pizza with your udon noodles.
I can get over that, but as the potluck season continues in full gear, we should all heed the following rules of potluck etiquette:
1. Bring your own serving utensils. Nothing is worse than stalling a potluck buffet line while guests have to serve their own soup with a plastic teaspoon because you didn't bring a ladle. Don't expect that the host will have one for you.
2. Your dish should be ready to serve. At a potluck I attended this week, someone brought a bone-in ham but offered no assistance in divvying it up. Without a knife and a serving fork, it sat at the buffet table untouched, like a centerpiece to give homage to carnivorous living without actually facilitating its occurrence.
3. If you don't cook, you have two choices: (1) Don't come to the party, or (2) offer to handle other non-edible necessities like cups, napkins and plates. And one or two guests who are particularly kitchen-phobic get to bring the beverages. Bringing a bag of potato chips is not an option. At a potluck buffet, I regard store-bought items as if they were parsley sprigs--pretty adornments that are not actually meant for eating. Thanks for adding some color to the table.
4. If you are going to be a little late, bring a dessert. If you're going to be really late, don't bother coming. On Thursday, some poor sap showed up after everyone had already been through the buffet line once or twice. Everything would have been fine if he had brought in a homemade cheesecake, but he brought an appetizer. And as an added infraction, the appetizer was a cheese and cracker plate from the grocery store. As he was tearing open a plastic packet of cheddar cheese blocks, I wondered if he really expected everyone to jump up and come back to the buffet table for another round.
5. Avoid poisoning other guests--it's very uncouth. Use proper hygiene when preparing food, especially with meat. Keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. Bring your own Crock Pot, chafing dish or other warmer. Use ice to keep cold dishes cold. True, with the multitude of dishes, it's not likely that you will be fingered as the culprit, but don't push your luck.

RE: Pot Luck "Duck"

I like the idea about drawing assignments. It is a simple yet seems like effective idea.
In reading my original post I can see my message may have come off rather dark or greater then thou, that certainly wasn't the intent.
I appreciate all the your ideas you've shared. Thanks.

Pot Luck "Duck"

Okay gang I'm not quite sure how to handle this one and thought what better group to ask.
A bunch of us go camping on a regualr basis maybe once a month. In most cases we are usuall 6-10 RV's. To make things more fun we have been pot-lucking meals as you get a wider variety and it is generally easier then making an entire meal for two.
My rub is we have one couple who is a few years older that "if" they bring something to contribute it is generally expired pastries with a line drawn through the price or a simple lettuce and dressing salad. Having had parents and grandparents who had lived through the great depression I am aware that as we get older we are a little worried about having enough money to live on. In this case we happen to live right next door as well and I don't get any indication that they are destitute.
The real issue for me is besides them not bringing food, their having to be first in line and always taking the biggest steaks they, especially she likes to tell everyone how well they are doing financially, big investors, lots of property always looking for forclosed homes, etc.
My opinion is to pull the husband aside express my and just about the entire groups impression and suggest they put up or shut up. To that my wife tells me that I am going to hell.
What would you do?

Been there, experienced it and will never return for the exact reasons you mentioned. Nice park, but the kid zoo is out of control.

Water Quality / Safety

We're going to Yosemite and will be staying at Lower Pines campground. My question is we want to go in with empty tanks and fill up with water at the dump stations.
Does anyone know what the water quality is like, are we safe or should it be only used for washing etc.?

RE: question about states in signature

Okay, "My Rule".... I am going to transfer credit from our previous trips to our current rig. For the simple reason that this is our first rig and since buying it two years ago we have not been able to go on a trip outside the state of Kalifornia. (wife, new job, no vacation)
See we borrowed my wife's Uncles rig a few years ago and took it for two weeks to see if we really wanted to buy a fifth wheel.
The fact that we totaled it and he still speaks to me says volumes about him and my wifes family.
The other thing is by transferring credit we are going to make some people think about the routes we've taken because his house and our starting point is in Idaho.
This way we'll have Kalifornia, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming on our map. Oh wait I forgot about our trip to Las Vegas, I can add Nevada too.

Also do you transfer the states when you replace your RV or start over from state one each time you buy or replace your RV?

RE: Cummins Onan P4300ie, Robin Subaru, John Deere genny

Missed Costco, sort of, bought one from someone who didn't off ebay. One issue about am month ago was running the AC in the driveway and all of us sudden it just quit. Restarted ran fine as soon as I put a load it quit. Called Cummins repairs, they weren't familiar with the unit, hadn't seen one. Little worried but figured it had to get fixed. Day before taking it in I started it again and it ran fine on load. Never touched anything no reset nothing. Soooo, we'll wait and see. Wished it was a bit quiter but heck for the price I ain't complaining.
Oh by the way the one that Costco said they diodn't have because they were sold out and weren't going to offer rainchecks came two days later.

Adding Chlorine

How do you add chlorine into your fresh water tank when the fill connection is a female hose thread coupling? I don't have the old fachion opening that you shove your garden hose into it is a closed system.

Antennae, Cable, To Dish

We are thinking of leaving the stone age behind and upgrading from cable tv to a satellite, or dish service. One of the side benefits is being able to get reception during those occassional rain events while camping.
My questions are,,, what service is most portable, least expensive? Do you own or rent your equipment and the benefits of eiither options?
My sister-in-law and her husband pay almost $200 a month, being sports addicts they have every sports channel / package available. I am just looking for basic tv, local channels etc. I believe I'll have to get two packages as we have 6 televisons at home, should I add an additional receiver or take one from the house when we go camping?

Pushed In FRont Caps

This last weekend coming home on hwy 99 around Modesto, CA we passed several fifth wheel trailers which had the front caps indented. Is this a quality or lack there of thing or speed. I never imagined this happened, would hate to stand next to ine when and if the cap popped back out. Is this common, I can't see mine when I'm driving but I seldom go over 60 mph.

RE: Carrier Air V

Okay, those that have answered my question I thank you for that but maybe I asked it incorrectly. Is there a way to measure the amperage available at the breaker or panel. Case in point. I have reviewed the specifications of my AC unit and it appears possible to run it on a 20 amp breaker but when I do so after about 45 minutes run time is pops the breaker, so I don't think it is a start up issue.
So if my understand that the breaker regulates me from applying more demand then my wiring / breaker can provide, and my AC unit trips it after running for a period of time I suspect that my available amperage isn't adequate????

Carrier Air V

So my question is this. I know you can measure voltage at a plug, is it possible to measure amperage at a plug?
May be a stupid question but when it comes to electricity I am omitedly not the bright bulb in the drawer.
