RE: Volkswagen Rabbit "toad" ?

I had one that was a permanent toad because it would NEVER start...it got 'toad' just about everywhere it went, mostly to the VW dealer...who could never fix it.

RE: Aqua Hot, Diesel versus Electric, efficiency

...I was also not aware that with both switches on that the Electric element will start first and the diesel operates as the back up...
Check the manual, I don't know which "starts first" but the diesel burner is the primary source for heat...at least that's what my manual says.

RE: Aqua Hot, Diesel versus Electric, efficiency

When it's really cold, the electric element in the AH will not keep you warm. In fact, it won't even provide enough hot water for a couple of showers. If you want to use electricity to keep the coach warm you'll have to buy some portable heaters.

RE: Shore Power

...Now that I read more in what 2oldman posted, it is really important to make sure your inverter/converter does not destroy the batt's. My converter shuts off the power to the batt's then back on at a certain voltage...
Agree, you need a smart charger that reverts back to a trickle charge when the batteries are fully charged.

RE: Tires, 29580r22.5/16 ply

We changed from Michelin to Toyo about 12,000 miles ago. The Toyo's have been great. I'm pretty sure they were made in the USA.
We have friends that swear by Toyos...less money, good service.

RE: Bicycles on the Ladder?

I would not use the ladder, most are not very stable. I have a rack that fits on the tow bar between the MH and the toad...it can handle three bikes.

RE: New owner. Question about GVWR, actual weight & towing

Work the numbers, the tow rating is the lower of:
1. GCWR minus RV's actual weight (if it's not over GVWR).
2. Hitch capacity.
3. Coach tow rating.
4. Chassis maker's tow rating

RE: Tire pressure on 2012 Winnebago Tour QD

There should be a chart that came with the 50 lbs of paperwork with your MH that gives you the TP for the appropriate weight.

RE: Why so many Goodyear G670's?

GY pushes the 670s as having anti-oxidents and anti-ozidant compounds to help guard against weather cracking, an enhanced belt system that enhances the ride, fuel efficient casing to help get better mileage...and more.

X2 on that. Full tank with Stabil is the way to go.
Agree, and if you have a diesel, add a biocide.

RE: How do I know if it's really a 2013?

look at the title document
That is what counts. When you go to sell it, the year noted on the title is key. When it is built is irrelevant.

There are hoses to all your outlets, check them and all the conections/hose clamps. I had a hose clamp that was leaking.

RE: Class A Storage

If you have a smart charger leaving it plugged in makes good sense, I think most if not all do these days. I don't have power at my storage so I just unhook the - cables and the batteries stay fine for 3-4 months of non-use.
I don't see any reason to leave the refrigerator running unless you want to be able to go on a moment's notice.
Agree, I have a smart charger, so it stays plugged in 24/7. I see no advantage to running the refrig if it is not being used, lots of wear and tear for nothing.

RE: I meant quick release oil change valve w/ hose

Clicky
Thanks but, I think many members are familiar with the Fumoto Valve.
As new people join I am sure some will benefit from the information they are a good product and have had them on a few vehicles back when I was racking up the miles and doing monthly oil changes.
Agree, some items are worth repeating for new members...this is one.
