RE: LCI electric tongue jack - fix that worked for me - some oil

Dman1Well, we'll just keep on going until it does fail. At least we can always crank it manually if need be. Anyone else out there with an LCI that has worked well for them? This will be my 4th summer. I'm sure there are some longer lasting ones out there?
Don't be so sure of that. When mine failed it would not even manually crank. The inner shaft just moved up and down(had to use bungee cords to keep it from falling out). I was extremly lucky that mine broke when I was disconnecting in the storage lot and it had not put enough pressure on the block before breaking. I was on the ball and was able to get the block out. Drove it to my dealer for replacement. LCI is junk. Plenty of posts on here to support this. If you want my spare LCI I'll sell it to you for $50 + shippping. Works but I don't trust it.

RE: Lynchburg, VA Campgrounds?????

Depends on how far you want to be from Lynchburg. You are within a 45 minute drive from Holiday Lake State Park, Smith Mountain Lake State Park and James River State Park.

RE: LCI electric tongue jack - fix that worked for me - some oil

Knock on wood...since August 2010 with the LCI 3500 lb jack never covered or lubricated (per the manufacturers recommendations) no issues.
Knock on wood.
It will fail it's just a matter of when. Mine failed in a year. Since it was under warranty they sent a new one for free. used for a few months and had a bad feeling it would break. It just made a funny sound when extended further than 3/4 of its maximum length. Put on a Barker 3500 18" VIP and it has been perfect and trouble free.

RE: RV park in North Myrlte Beach,SC ?

If you want to, Walk on the beach, sit on the beach, fly kites on the beach, watch the ocean, watch the sun come up over the ocean, and watch the dolpins play, In other words, Be at the beach. You need to be at a beach CG, and MBTP is the nicest one in North Myrtle beach.
Willow tree may be nice, But it is not at the beach. and the beach is the only reason to go to the beach.
X1000. If I wanted to be in North Myrtle then MBTP gets my vote. Why go to the beach to have to drive to the beach. Even if you don't go to the beach every day staying on the beach with pools, activities and in the heart of restaurants and shopping is right there with you.

RE: Recommendations for a preferred TPMS System.

Started using the tiretracker system this year. 1900 miles later and all is well. Any system is better than no system.

RE: Bolar Mountain in Virginia

First campground on the left has good sites but no W/E. The other 2 or 3 campgrounds have electric but only potable water spigots so bring water in your tank so be prepared to fill up there is nice. Nice place

RE: Virginia State Parks and dogs

The VA State Parks we visit are always full. We were at one last weekend and I think there were 2 open sites. They were calling for rain on Sunday and with the liberal cancellation policy you can call up until 4pm on Friday to either change dates or cancel entirely. People do camp based on weather especially if they are in a tent and probably utilize this liberal policy to their advantage before heading out.

RE: Can't Keep It Looking Good

To keep the front cap cleaned on my TT, I either use Meguires QD or Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover within an hour of pulling into the CG. try to do the same when i get home. this way bugs and grime dont get a chance to bake into the gel coat and it stays clean and shiny. Also, wax the front cap a couple times per year

RE: Using Weber 120 with RV Propoane

Here's how I did the conversion on my Weber Q:
Weber Conversion
BTW, like Jim posted above, some members have left the regulator on and are satisfied with the performance. Some members have reported lower flame and BTU outlet with the regulator on and claim the bbq does not get as hot. The fitting to replace the regulator was so cheap I went that route.
Thanks for the additional information. Maybe it's hard to tell from the picture but the Calore part 401153 looks like something screws into it. If I remove the regulator from the Weber I will need a fitting that screws onto the threaded metal pipe. tks

RE: Using Weber 120 with RV Propoane

Thanks for all the replies. I don't mind the location of the grill being next to the TT. I have a 19' awning so we have plenty of room to move away and still be covered under the awning if we need to be. My outdoor kitchen(built into the TT) is only a few feet away so grabbing cold ones and grilling is just too much fun :)

RE: Using Weber 120 with RV Propoane

I had the sidekick grill with a QD adaptor connected to a hose which was QD'ed to the trailer fitting.
My TT had the two bottles, the regulator going to the QD fitting. When I replaced the grill I removed the fitting from the sidekick and installed it on the weber, and yes I had to remove the regulator, it works and is hot as I need it.
If you have a class "A" or "C" you may need other fittings that I am not familiar with.
Others mentioned getting a small propane bottle but that defeats the purpose of using your 60-150 pounds of propane you are carrying around. Too bad I didn't take pictures.
This sounds like the plan. I currently have the quick connect attached to the propone hose that I pull out of the TT wall to connect to my Sunbeam Sidekick grill. So all I have to do is remove the male fitting from the Sidekick, remove the regulator from the Weber and screw the male connector onto the Weber and call it a day??? Sounds too easy? Have to missing something or more importantly a part. If so, I'll pick up a stand for the Weber and I'll be good to go.

Using Weber 120 with RV Propoane

My RVQ is getting a little worn and I have a Weber 120Q in the basement that I could easily use. However, I refuse to use those green bottles. We camp every weekend and I use the BBQ everynight so using the built in propane hose that attaches to my RVQ is very convieneint.
With that said, can I outfit the Weber to accept the RV connector. Do I need to remove the Weber's regulator? Where do I get the parts and is it a simple DIY. tks

VA state parks need money like any other state. I would rather they charge for a dog than raise rates for non dog owners

RE: Just found a super easy way to take the black streaks off

I tried the lemon pledge tonight. It actually worked very well. Great tip!!
Magic Eraser is a double edge sword. Works very well on things like glass and not painted surfaces. I used it on a few interior doors that are painted semi gloss. Well, guess who had to reprint about 4 doors. I am very careful on what to use this abrasive pad on after that.

RE: golf cart batteries

Trojan t 105 are the most recommended brand by those on buggies gone wild. I just put 6 new ones in my GC. $600. Call around. I bought mine locally but was first given a price of 800. Called another plan and they sold them for 600. But we're out of stock. Called the first place back that had them and they agreed to match price. Also, I heard Batteries Plus sells CG batteries. They told a friend of mine they will beat any price.

RE: golf cart.

We put our 5" lifted ez-go in the back of our f250 short bed. Tail gate closes more than half way and I swivel the electric tounge jack sideways to give more turning clearance. Towed our TT with GC 1600 miles round trip over spring break. No problem. TT weighs about 8k lbs with the tongue weight over 1k.

RE: fort wilderness question

The only way to get to Magic Kingdom from the campground is to take the boat. Other parks can be accessed by taking the buses which can be picked up near the front f the campground.
Or drive. Much faster and easier to drive if you have a vehicle. Parking is free, easy to get to the other 3 parks and easy to leave even after late shows like Illuminations. We never got on one bus the entire 9 days we were there.
