RE: Should we cancel Cedar Point's Camper Village?

That prediction has already changed. They were forecasting that considering the remnants of Isaac. Seeing as he has slowed down they are not currently predicting that rain will hit northern Ohio until late Sunday, if even that.

RE: Campgrounds around Washington PA

The only thing you are going to find will be a last minute cancellation or open spot that day. Not too many places don't have the 3 night minimum on holiday weekends; all I can think of is state parks but even most of them have 2 night mins on weekends.

RE: Looking for Lake Erie campgrounds – traveling from Virginia

East Harbor and Geneva State Park are the closest you will get to being on Lake Erie (with the exception of the Islands) in Ohio. Geneva is not "right" on the lake, but across the road from it. There are cabins that sit right on the lake and you cannot even walk the property without being asked to leave. But there is a 2 mile bike trail that runs from the campground to downtown Geneva On The Lake that is right next to the lake. In PA there are a few that are right on the lake...Sara Coyne on Presque Isle, Virginia's Beach, Camp Eriez. If you continue into NY there is Lake Erie State Park.

RE: What CG for Finger Lakes New York in the Fall

I am bumping this as we are planning on staying at Taughannock and am I trying to get some insight about the electric sites (1-16). We have a pop up so I am not so concerned about small/tight sites. We prefer some shade, a comfy area for sitting out and a bit of privacy. I thought that even sites backed up to a hill but I am not sure if I am remembering that correctly. Help??!!

RE: Went to see the movie Ted

If you are not a fan of Family Guy or American Dad then you will not like Ted. Seth McFarlane is a genius and I would love for one day to take a peek inside his brain. I sit and watch Family Guy and listen to the musical numbers and choreography that he comes up with (even though it is animated) and I just laugh. Yes, this man writes musicals. Yes, he is a choreographer. Yes, he is twisted. If you cannot appreciate taking a joke too far you will never appreciate his style.

RE: Cutting through campsites - how would you do it? (long)

There are some instances where cutting through a site cannot be avoided. I will try to walk on what would be considered the "property" line or I will walk as far away as I can from the awning side. I was recently at a state park that had hiking trails all through the campground. The trails started/ended in someone's site. We would be out on one and come to the end and have no choice. One of the trails ended right in the middle of a tent site. We apologized profusely and got through as quickly as we could. I have also been in a situation where a bathroom was across a site and have cut through in the middle of the night or when the people are not there. The way the campground wound around there was no easy way to get to the restrooms and it would have been ruder to start my car and run headlights all through the campground than to just walk through. If I am on a site that is close to the restroom I pretty much assume I will have visitors.

RE: MOHICAN RALLY - AUGUST 3, 4, 5, 2012

We will probably only partake in the Saturday food offerings. Not sure exactly what I plan to bring....thinking it will be dessert-ish.

RE: MOHICAN RALLY - AUGUST 3, 4, 5, 2012

We were on the river Saturday and it is very low. In a kayak I got stuck 2 or 3 times and had to pull the kayak through. Huge bottle necks happened in too numerous of places and I got stuck in the middle of 2 "crashes". I am not sure if it was the weekend or what but people were more drunk than usual which caused a few issues. Still lots of water fights, still lots of fun, but a little aggravating by the time the trip was over. A few times I wanted to take my paddle upside someone's head but I kept my composure.

RE: oxegenics shower heads

I was just going to mention how CRAPPY their customer service and warranty is on the product. Many parts are plastic and we had ours crack after about 2 years in the motor home. I ran into the same issue with their receipt policy and sent off some VERY nasty e-mails to management. If you have a lifetime warranty you should not have to have a receipt. It is stupidity at its finest. That being said, I did replace it with a new one and keep the receipt stapled to the warranty info in a file cabinet. I also have a shower head in my bathroom at home that has been trouble free for a few years.

RE: Margaritia Crystal Light

Just replace some of the water your would use with vodka. There are so many flavored vodkas out there right now you should have a ton of options. Raspberry vodka with lemonade, sweet tea vodka with lemonade, lemonade vodka with any of the teas, fruit punch with fruit punch....the possibilities are endless.

Campgrounds near Butler, Pa??

Yes, I have looked on rvparkreviews but there are not a whole lot of listings for the number I find doing an internet search. We will be participating in the Zombie Run on Labor Day weekend and I am looking for a place for us to stay. I would prefer to be no more than 30 minutes from the run, which is being held at Switchback Raceway, near the intersection of 8 and 138. We have a pop up so smaller campgrounds are okay. Prefer W/E but E only is okay too. Showers are a MUST. Also needs to be pet friendly. Thanks in advance!

RE: East Harbor State Park in Ohio?

I am also a lover of Geneva State Park. There is a great 2 mile bike trail into town. Geneva on the Lake is a mix of carnival, bikers, kids, bars and old fashioned stands. There is nothing quite like riding the Ferris wheel at sunset.

RE: Navarre

We have stayed at this campground several times. Yes the sites are tight but the rest of the campground makes up for it. The pool and hot tub are great and they have some of the nicest shower facilities I have ever seen. Extremely pet friendly. They always have some sort of activity going on.

RE: Looking for campground in MD, PA, WV, VA with hotel on site

Warerford, PA has a new campground called Sparrow Pond (very close to Erie). They have Sparrows Nest on site: Sparrow Pond Blackwater Falls does have a hotel on site but it is not really all that close to the campground.

RE: Camping in Savannah, GA

We were just at Skidaway back in April and thoroughly enjoyed the campground. We rode our bikes all through that campground and the surrounding area and have no idea what "swamp" you are talking about. There was a trail that led back to the water but not what I would call swamp.
