RE: Too many t-shirts

My wife did that with our t-shirts. We have enough for another quilt already.

RE: Stockton Ca... nearby.. monthly?

Kris, have you looked at French Camp RV Park on Hwy 99? It's a nice park and not too far outside of Stockton. Didn't you use to own a Jazz 2750? I remember your previous posts and I think you had a Jazz.

RE: Camping near Incline Village - Lake tahoe

We stayed at Zephyr Cove and loved it. Close to the casinos and lake activities.

RE: Replacing carpet with vinyl

I will be doing the same thing as soon as the weather warms up. I'm using the Allure from Home Depot also. Keep me posted on how your DIY project comes out. Maybe some lessons learned would be helpful also. Good luck.

RE: Custer SD Camping HELP!!!

We stayed at Custer Gulch last year. Really nice park with level gravel sites. Close to all the major attractions. Don't miss Custer State Park to see the massive herd of buffalo. Also, a trip to the Needle Highway is worthwile. Just don't drive a large vehicle up there.

RE: Black-eyed Pea Time!

Wife cooked the beans yesterday using bone from spiral ham. Ready for some good cajun food.

RE: How long of stay at Devil's Tower?

I would say at least a day. We stayed in Sundance, about 30 miles away. Also, a drive along Highway 24 to Aladdin is worth the trip. The campground at the monument appears to be very clean and nice. The walk around the monument is easy and shows different views of the monument.

RE: Fall color spots near California 395

Not sure where Bishop Creek is exactly, but the road around June Lake usually has some good color. That's north of Mammoth Lakes, so you'd have to go further than Bishop. Should be some good color this weekend. Sorry, I'm not familiar with anything south of Bishop.

RE: Our new floor!

What is Allure? Laminate flooring? I've heard good things about Allure. It is a vinyl laminate flooring that is very easy to install. There is a video on line that you can watch to show how easy it is to install. Allure is sold at Home Depot and some flooring dealerships.

RE: Our new floor!

Great job! Did you install the flooring directly over the wood floor, or did you use an underlayment of tar paper or plastic? I'm thinking of replacing my carpet with Allure.

RE: Reno/Sparks RV Parks

Gold Ranch is in Verdi coming into Reno from Truckee on I-80. It's a nice park, but there's not too much around there. There's a lot of road construction around Reno, so be careful going through there. The only other place I'd recommend is in Boomtown, but again, not very close to downtown Reno.

Check Engine light on again.

Just replaced a glow plug in my Silverado and now the SES light is on again. Probably another glow plug, but this is crazy. I think I've had all of them changed now. Anyone else have this problem with your Silverado HD with Duramax? Okay you Dodge and Ford owners. You can add your comments also on your vehicle over a Chevy.

RE: Trailers stolen from RV lot

Someone broke into the Pan Pacific RV lot in Stockton, CA and removed two travel trailers over the weekend. It was a white SUV and the travel trailers were about 20 feet long each. If you took them, please return them to the dealer. LOL Instead of LOL, why dont you post vin numbers, model, make, color, etc? Although there is little hope for recovery, (and if recovered, may not be worth it) but every little bit helps. And if we can find who the such-and- such is that did it, there is a (small) chance they can be stopped from repeating their action. I prefer LOL. It's funny that a dealer that sells theft prevention hardware is still not immune from a desperate thief. By the way, one of the trailers was recovered at a high school. Probably needed another classroom. LOL.

RE: Trailers stolen from RV lot

My guess is they were stolen to serve as somebody's hunting cabin, and since they will never be on the highway, the odds of recovery are nil. That's exactly what the authorities suspect. The trailers were a Cougar and an Aljo. The vehicle was a Ford Explorer or similar.

RE: placerville to yosemite for a newbie.....SAFEST route????

I usually go down 99, but have traveled on 49. As you probably know, 49 is very windy road and is a slower route. However, past Sonora the road is much better into YNP using 120. Since you're towing a car, you may be better off going down 99 until you are comfortable driving a motor home. Just my opinion. Good luck.

RE: Replacing Steps

I replaced my three tread step with a four tread step. I had to cut part of the frame with a grinding disc to remove the step. It's not an easy task, but it can be done. Just be sure to use goggles and hearing protection if you go that route. Good luck.

SR299 Road construction?

Is there any major road construction between Redding and Arcata on California SR299? I will be traveling that route on Sunday. Usually no work being done on weekends, but just checking.

RE: Willets to Fort Bragg

You'll have to take it easy on those curves and swing wide. Some are very tight and you can't see the oncoming traffic. It's doable, but very slow going for most of the drive. Hopefully you won't bottom out your rear end on some of the downward turns. Let us know how you did.
