RE: Tracvision S2 and Directv

You may have to reprogram you Trac-Vision to Direct TV's satellites, mine had been programed for the wrong satellite. There are also several software upgrades for the S-2which makes it easier for it to locate the satellites. I called the Trac-Vision service number and they were very helpful! It ended up that I had to get the upgrade downloaded into the S-2 and had to contact a Trac-Vision service person to upgrade it.

RE: Used tow bars and base plates

Got my used Demco Excalibar tow bar on E-Bay.
Sent the tow bar back to Demco and they refurbished the tow bar for free, only cost one-way freight cost!

RE: Dish receiver in class a as 3rd room?

Yes you can! You will loose your local channels about 200 miles from home though.

RE: Thinking about double tow.

Better check laws on double towing, it is illegal in the majority of states!

RE: Exterior TV cable plug on TT won't work with DirecTV

If you can find the splitter, remove it and install a diplexer which will allow voltage to pass and the satellite to work. Otherwise you will have to run a new cable using a diplexer to split the feeds.

RE: Searching for Satellite Input Problem

When you are setting up, make sure you are hitting the correct satellite Direct TV not Dish TV, which is further east and not as high in the sky. Also, purchase a "Signal Strength Meter" which will help you find a signal quicker, try E-Bay, you can probably get one for under $10.00!

RE: Jeep Liberty, 2008--2010..Key on key off ???

I would recommend adding a power outlet and wiring it (with a fuse or circuit breaker) to a constant power outlet under the hood. You can then turn off the ignition and remove the key. My Brake Buddy instructions recommended adding a 12 volt outlet, wired to a constant power source with a minimum of 14 ga. wire. After calling them, they said my Jeep Commander's wiring for the stock power outlet could get hot and they sent a complete kit to add an outlet for free! I wouldn't recommend modifying any of the stock Jeep wiring, as it could void your warranty!

We stay there every time we are headed back to New Jersey from Florida, and had no problems! They have a lot of pull-thru sites too!

RE: Steering Stabilizers

I put Steer-Safe on my F-53 Class A and it makes a world of difference! You don't feel the winds of big rigs much or the difficulty of coming over the lip of the shoulder of the road, and it makes driving a lot less tiring! It also made controlling my RV a lot easier last year, when I blew a right front tire while going 65 MPH and pulling a car while on Route 95 in Florida! I was able to keep it in the lane and safely pulled onto the shoulder and stopped. It's worth the investment!

RE: Best time and place to snorkel in the Florida Keys?

If you can find a site, try "John Pennykamp State Park" in Key Largo. Go on the "Reserve America" web site and keep trying! I do know that they keep several sites open fo walk-ins too! Even if you can't get a site there, you can still take a boat out of there that takes you to a large coral reef for a snorkeling tour. My wife and I did the snorkeling trip 2 years ago and it was great!

RE: Cape May restaurants

Try the "Lobster House" just over the bridge into Cape May. Good for a casual lunch on the dock or dinner. Also try "Menz's" for dinner in Rio Grande.

Check weight rating of your hitch

I bought the whole set up (Brake Buddy, tow bar, etc) for towing my 5,000 lbs. Jeep Commander behind my Georgetown 325 F-53 Class A, checked the spec sticker for weight ratings, and all seemed ok. Hooked up the towed and thought to crawl under the MH, lift up the mudflap and discovered that the hitch that was installed by Georgetown was only rated at 3500 lbs.! Called Georgetown and they advised me that a larger hitch with a higher weight rating may be installed as there were no frame extensions on it. I went right out and had a larger 7,000 lbs. hitch installed on it!
I would recommend that everyone check their hitch ratings before towing! Mine looked like a heavy duty 5,000 lbs. hitch but it was not!

Demco Towbar Customer Service

I bought a used Demco 8,000 lbs Excaliber tow bar that needed new rubber boots for the pistons. Contacted Demco and they told me that they would refurbish the bar, no charge, if I sent it to them! Got it back in 2 weeks, new rubber boots and all new hardware, no charge! They didn't even charge for the return freight! Just thought I should let everyone know about good service from a company!

Do you have a CB antenna mounted near the windshield? I had the same annoying noise and finally found out that it was the CB antenna. I put a tennis ball on it and it stopped!
