RE: New "Free RV Park finder for android

Google apps do not play well with my Kindle Fire so I paid $2.99 for CAMP FIRE Works great and worth every penny. You can test drive it from the site.
Did you mean Camp Finder or Camp Fire?
Edit: If I had looked at the details from your link, I now see that it goes to the Camp Finder site.
I have not downloaded it but it seems to be very similar to RV Parky. Does anyone have both as a comparison before I have to fork over $2.99?
Yep I meant FINDER. Saw the mistake the other day but didnt think anyone would notice. :o

RE: We may have to sell

Just sold or "2011". Bought it new so I was prepared to take a bath. Looked on net for what they were worth and let a friend sell it that use to be a buyer for a multi RV dealership. He put it on a private lot that was on a busy highway. He put signage on it and put an add on the net. A drive by bought it in a week. He sold it for what I wanted plus his commission. Glad I didn't have to deal with a bunch of look lous and have to drive to the storage lot and pull it out for a showing. All concerned were happy.

RE: unplug my wire harness?

On unplugging. Last winter we were headed for our spot in AZ and were loaded up ready to go. Got up in the morning and it was below zero. Un-plugged the engine heater and tried to start it. Batteries barely turned it over. I was furious. Called a friend and he came over and with jumper cables it still barely turned over. He said my trailer lights were flickering while I was trying to start it and to unplug it. I did and it and it spun over like a top and fired right up. Lesson learned.

RE: TrailAir pinbox

I have the non Tri glide TrailAir. I have air bags on the truck and found that lowering the air on them helped the ride considerably. Thinking about just removing them and softening up my Ranchos and just let the hitch do its job.

RE: 50 amp trailer and a Crock Pot

I do it all the time on a 30 Amp - but usually run less than high once it starts to bubble.

RE: TrailAir long/short?

After thinking it over and reading the replies I am going to keep the long box. Someone pointed out on another forum that access to the truck box is a lot easier. Thats a big consideration as I carry an extra water tank and blueboy. It is a lot easier getting between the truck and the trailer when doing my "chores" compared to the prior trailer. Thanks for the input.

TrailAir long/short?

My unit came with a long TrailAir hitch and I have a long bed truck. It sure doesn't need to be that long and It would save me a foot in length if I installed a short one. Does anyone know how much difference in weight transfer to the bed of the truck it makes between the long and short? I think I may want to trade my long hitch for a shorter one if it works out OK.

RE: Water fill issue

I carried two foot piece of heater hose with our Bighorn. I just put the end of the hose up to the vent and blew it out. Worked like a charm.

RE: B & W Companion Lube Plate use question

Just got done butchering a five gallon bucket. Is even thinner than the Hensley and seems real flexible. Looks like I am good to go.
You can send me $5 for the tip!
I have my "bucket slip plate" in my tool box as a backup.
The first time you use it if you don't like the way it does not stay tight to the bottom of the kingpin plate use some construction adhesive then hook up and go. I have not tried this but it should work.
I made one a few years back but never tried it as I did make the hole too big and just ordered the Hensley. Today's economy makes me a little more frugal.

RE: Bed saver and B & W companion hitch

The first trailer we had a fithwheel and the first time I unhooked from my B&W I forgot to put on my wheel chocks. Trailer rolled back and fell off the the landing gear blocks and put a whoopy in my tailgate far back from where a bed saver would do any good. If you dent something on the truck its your fault and not the B&W. Save your money if ya got a B&W.

RE: B & W Companion Lube Plate use question

I had a Hensley 1/8 disc on my old trailers Lippert pin box and it worked pretty well but it broke when I took it off. Our new acquisition has a TraiAir pin box and with a 1/4" lube plate you can not see a gap when you use the Companion. Hensley wants $20 and $15 freight for a new one. What a rip off compared to the standard disc. I am about to slather on the grease or see if I can make one out of an old plastic bucket.

RE: wood grained fridge replaced?

Stuff like that disapears in minutes of putting it on the curb. Put upright vacuum out that was tore apart and I cut the cord off. Gone in less than 30 min. Old water heater didnt even take that long.

SEVERAL road accidents? Guess I would have to see some documentation of that before I passed that info on. :h

RE: 31' to 36' pros & cons ?

Went from a 34 to a 39. Am now looking at 30-32 foot options. The long trailer is a pita as far as I am concerned and stopped me from double towing. Taking two pickups everywhere to bring all our stuff is the BIG PITA.

RE: Need comments on Open Range trailers

I almost got a new one late last summer. I liked the fit and finish but there were a few things that turned me off. I believe the ladder went up in the middle of the back of the camper. Not a nice look of the rear window. Didnt really care for the furniture either. Leather seats seemed fake in looks and touch. Loved the leveling system. And the entry door. In the end, I just couldn't part with the extra money and bought a used Cougar instead.
I am pretty sure the ladders are removable. Just like high end Mobile Suites.
