RE: Verizon Mi-Fi Models - Newest?

Verizon is adding two new frequency bands to the three in use now. They will be used for 4G. Current MiFis are not capable of using those bands but some will supposedly have or will have chips that can configured (flashed?)to use them.
I am waiting to upgrade to 4G until this all settles down and there is some info on how well the devices work. I understand the devices with the new chips will be available this summer. I plan on talking to the local Verizon folks to see what they say about this.
There is some info HERE

RE: Looking at a Winnebago Adventurer. Any known issues?

We have traveled all over the country for eleven full time years with a gasser. Workhorse chassis with an 8.1 liter engine. Going over the Rockies on I70 I have dropped to 1st gear and 25 mph for 10 or 15 minutes sometimes. On lesser grades 2nd gear and 30 to 35 mph.
For the maybe .1 percent of the total driving time that I am on grades like that it just isn't a big deal.

RE: Koni FSDs - how many miles do you have on them?

How do you tell that the shocks are wearing? Mine have been in place about 25,000 miles but I don't know how to go about checking for wear. The ride seems about the same.

RE: Allure flooring issues

A word of caution to anyone considering using the Allue Vinyl Flooring product. I had ordered the Allure product from Home Depot when I saw a couple of posts about temperature tolerances of this product. I called Allure Customer Service and was told that this product must be kept at room temperature at all times. I was told that this product SHOULD NOT be used in cold temps. (My fifth wheel is stored in Minnesota in winter.) When I canceled the order and explained the reason, the Home Depot manager also called Allure and was told the same thing. So it was a learning experience for eveyone. I would suggest anyone considering this product whose RV may be used/stored in cold temps call Allure before buying. The Customer Service phone number is 866-843-8453.
Allure has a newer product that does not use an adhesive but locks together like the laminates do. I wonder if it has this limitation?

RE: Taking delivery in about 10 days....

For overnight in-transit stays I don't use my jack pads.
But for longer stays I do.
A trucker friend gave me four of the pads they use to put under the landing gear on semi trailers when they drop it on pavement. They work great and are easy to store.
I also use the thin flexible cutting boards under the tires. A lot of people don't use anything but Michelin recommends it so I do.

RE: help with dish network at rv park as cable

I find I must turn off the antenna amplifier button when I am connecting to some cable systems. I know, it makes no sense to me either, but there it is. Also, check and make sure there is no debri in the cable connection.
good luck.
It didn't make sense to me either until I found out that the Winegard wall plate button that turns the bat wing amplifier on also acts as an A/B switch between the cable input and the antenna.

RE: LP GAS REFILL

You can get some info on your 1998 motor home on the Winnebago web site HERE
They have wiring and plumbing diagrams going back to 1990 but they don't change much year to year so 1990 might still be helpful. See HERE

RE: Trouble with Ventline tank monitor panel

Would a bad resistor pack do this?

If it was open I think so.

RE: Need To Calculate An LED Dropping Resistor?

One thing to note is that the voltage varies with color - going up to 3.8 volts. See HERE.
I use the data sheet for the LED I am using to get the voltage drop.

RE: Trouble with Ventline tank monitor panel

The display panel has five "LM339 Low Power Low Offset Voltage Quad Comparator" ICs (one for each waste tank, one for the propane tank, the water tank and one for the battery voltage) that are used to sense the voltage drops across the sensors and activate the proper LED.
It sounds like the wires from the sensors are unplugged or for some other reason the voltage from the display is not connected to the sensors.

RE: RV financing.

There have been a number of posts from folks that have had trouble getting RV loans because they are full timers. There are are some companies that do however provide them. Check on the Escapees web site, there is at least one company that is a commercial member and does offer loans to full timers.

RE: DIRECT TV-Genie System

Did you go into satellite setup and change to an 18 inch dish and multi-switch?
I don't know about the receiver you have but some of the new Direct receivers will not work with non SWM dishes. The H/HR 25 and H/HR 35 are examples.

RE: Cleaning fiber glass sink

You can buy Soft Scrub with bleach. It works well. We also use Clorox Cleaner in a spray bottle and that works well also.
By the way, the Magic Eraser directions say not to use it on shiny plastic or painted surfaces.

In convection mode convection microwaves the exhaust air is much hotter than regular ovens.
Make sure you get one designed to be built into a cabinet.

RE: Propane or genarator????

I have found that the temperature in the refrigerator will only come up 3 or 4 degrees in 3 or 4 hours when it is not running.
I used to let it run on propane while on the road but now I just turn it off while traveling.
Of course if I am running the generator for the ACs when it's hot I leave it on.
According to the manual my 5.5 KWh Onan only uses about .6 gallons per hour with a half load.

RE: I know stock tank sensors are worthless but..

The problem is not the sensors but wet gunk on the tank walls that fools the sensors. I have the TrueLevel system with non-contact sensors on the outside of the tank. My black tank always reads full and the gray reads 2/3.
Anything you can do to clean the tank walls can help. I have pressure washed the black tank walls through the toilet using an L adapter I made. The black tank will read properly for a while and then read full again.
If I had a tank flusher that could keep the walls clean it might last but I don't and there is no way to install one so that it will wash the wall the sensors are located on.
After eleven years of full timing I just dump the gray every three days and the black every ten days and don't worry about it anymore.
