RE: I-76 PA or I-78 PA

There should be enough pull offs on the pike many of the "rest stops" are closed unless they make a lot of money. There are a lot of exits along 78 where you can get anything you need in any of the towns along the way.
I would also add, that for the most part the left lane of 78 is in fairly decent shape but if you don't do 70 you will be in somebodies way, meaning if your polite and move into the right lane, you will experience the torturous conditions I mentioned before. You could do one way down and the other way back then you'll know for the next time.

RE: I-76 PA or I-78 PA

My personal opinion would be to take the turnpike(76). I 78 is terrible from Jersey to 81, either from traffic at intersections or from the terrible road condition. The stretch from 81 to 476 has terrible ruts and washboarded sections that make it unbearable to drive on much less tow a trailer on. You might have to pay $5+/- bucks in tolls to take the pike but it is a much nicer road and your kidneys will thank you.
If you get off the pike at Lebanon Rd(Rt. 72/exit 266?) you could take that to E-town Rd into town, not bad roads to tow on, nice country drive.

RE: 3/4 Ton truck and weight distribution

I agree... I don't need it with my set up, but it makes a big difference in the ride with it hooked up.

RE: Gorilla Glue Duct Tape saves the day... and $2200.

I'm 100% convinced duct tape has a magical elixir in it!:B
Or a corrosive flesh eating chemical made in China.:E Although, I have used it for the same thing once.

RE: we just installed a vintage toilet in our vintage TT

Where's the attachment for the sewer hose? I think I'd upgrade it with pnuematic tires for pulling it to the dump station.

RE: Friendly Wave

I wave at every camper I pass, much to the annoyance of my girlfriend. All year, not one person had waved back, which was her reason for always saying "no one ever waves back, why do you bother?". Finally on our most recent trip someone in a MH waved back and I almost couldn't contain myself I was so happy, but she still thinks it's stupid. I am surprised by the amount of people who don't wave but I'll keep waving, if for no other reason than to annoy my girlfriend.

Doesn't your service provider do the same thing with just the "411"? most do, I thought.

RE: No cable outside connection.

Mines mounted to the underside of the floor behind the rear axles. It could be anywhere, but more than likely close to your other connections.

RE: jellystone pa

Yeah, most of the time I take the reviews with a grain of salt, but after seeing the number of reviews that were nearly identical and all made the same claims it's hard not to fall into that line of thinking. I've been to places that got bad reviews and had a wonderful time. Everybody camps differently so you make your choices accordingly, but I would steer clear of a place that had so much bad PR. Delana, please let us know how your trip goes and I hope I didn't cause you any unnecessary pretrip anxiety. Good Luck, I'll be camping 34 miles due north.

This might help, assuming that this is the Jellystone you're refering to. Make sure to click on the link near the bottom of the page to "display older reviews" of the park, makes for some good reading!

RE: are these good ideas?

Can you buy the bedliner spray for do it yourself, or are you having it done by a dealer? I've never seen it for sale to the general public but it would be nice be able to DIY. Also, from prices I've gotten for truck beds in the past I would think it was the same or more than a piece of diamond plate.

RE: How does my rig look?

I feel if you have to ask strangers on the internet to make a decision on the safety of your set-up based on a photo, then you haven't done your due diligence....snip
D-Low,
First, welcome to the RV.Net forums.
I hope during the course of your future postings you find the forum membership friendly, informative, and from my past experience a respectful group of RV enthusiasts looking out for the best interest of others.
Spend some time on this forum, you won't be a stranger for long! :)

Well said. I was trying to say that but it kept coming out "SHUT UP"! so I said nothing.
Thanks Turk, I have spent a considerable amount of time on the forum, I just don't post a lot probably to the delight of many who take offense to my opinions. I am also not so thin skinned that I would be upset if someone told me to "shut up", unlike most people.
I would offer one piece of basic advise after viewing the new photos that have been posted... criss cross your safety chains... or not, it's you rig.

RE: How does my rig look?

I feel if you have to ask strangers on the internet to make a decision on the safety of your set-up based on a photo, then you haven't done your due diligence to ensure YOU have a complete understanding of what is the proper set-up that your rig requires to operate safely. There are many knowlegable people on this site that provide great information, but how many of them are certified or authorized by the manufacturers of YOUR equipment to give you the proper advise based on a vague photo or 2 and no info on the apparatus being used? Good luck if you should have an accident and your defense is "my forum buddy said it looked good to him and he's got 700 posts on the travel trailer forum":R

RE: Storing water hoses

Are you aware that after about 24 hrs. a water and bleach solution loses it's "disinfecting" ability? It will work after it's first mixed, but if you're storing it and go to use it the next time you camp you're doing nothing more than spraying a clean water and salt solution onto something and not killing bacteria.

RE: A Syrupy Mess!!! Ideas?

Maybe you could try this. Seems like it would have many other uses on the RV also, maybe even getting the black streaks and little black mold spores off the outside.
