RE: Fresh Water Holding Tank has a Leak

I ordered a tank repair kit. I'll give it a shot and post some photos if it works out. Thanks.

RE: Fresh Water Holding Tank has a Leak

Anyone tried this?
I thought if it is a pin hole or small crack I could go in with a soldering iron first and then fill the depression with the epoxy before applying the patch kit.
I might also call around to the RV repair places and see what their remedy is.

Fresh Water Holding Tank has a Leak

It's a 102 gal tank that has a baffle type feature that splits it in half. The best I can tell the leak is coming from a bottom corner radius of the tank itself. It must be just a pin hole or a small crack because it is just dripping slowly.
Is there a do-it-yourself patching process? I'm reluctant with such a big tank. I imagine there are some pretty big stresses on the bottom surface of the tank.
The trailer is a Tahoe Transport 26FS.
Thanks.

RE: Has anyone tried to add a sky light?

DB I was just at a neighbour's house and they just installed one of
These
I was amazed at how much light that came thru it into the room.
The hole in the roof was very small but the light was amazing.
Maybe something like this would work, small hole to seal up and a lot of light. They make one for a flat roof too.
They have them at Home Depot and Lowes around here. That's a good idea; I'll have to look into those. Thanks.

Ah yes I know what you mean, the over 40 part.
Well I guess you may have to replace all them lights with LED'S so you can leave them on longer http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing001.gifI did the LED light upgrade and it sure made a difference but it's no replacement for natural light.

RE: Has anyone tried to add a sky light?

I know that this is not what you asked about but to get more light into my RV I did
THIS
No cutting more holes and an easy install that let in more light and I could see more of the outsideI want one of those too. The problem with our trailer is that the windows are tinted black and unless you have the lights on all the time you can't see anything. (especially if you're over 40)

RE: Has anyone tried to add a sky light?

I did add a roof vent in a previous trailer for that reason. Made a huge difference. You need to locate the vent between the rafters, mine were just enought to fit a 14" vent. I did not have ducts for the a/c, watch out for them, and wires! Lots of things running thru that space up there. I pulled down a cieling light to look first.
Good luck.I do have A/C ducting. I took a few lights off but there is only a small hole for the wiring. I think I would have to figure out how to remove some of the ceiling panels to be able to plan this out.

Has anyone tried to add a sky light?

Our trailer could use some natural light inside. I would like to add another dome type sky light similar to the ones typically found in RV showers. If there's not enough room I would settle for a couple of extra vents. I would like to hear from someone that's done this. Thanks.

RE: I hope he gets charged...

Definitely too few facts to jump to conclusions.
However, this is a good example of why you should ride alone. If the adult was injured badly enough to need hospitalization, then some of these issues could have been prevented if he had a buddy. Even if his capacity was diminished from a head injury, his buddy would have been able to call for help.
What a shame for the boy's family.
:?He's assuming that the 40 year old was riding alone. With a head injury you can completely lose 15-30 minutes of your memory.

RE: LED bulbs vs LED panels

I use the panels that have 48 individual LED lights on each panel. The LED bulbs that I've seen have only 9 to 12 lights each so they won't be nearly as bright. You can get the panels that have adapter barrels that will fit your OEM sockets.
The only complaint I have is the panels don't have the best adhesive and tend to come loose. Mine were made in China and were around $3 per panel.

RE: Winter storage and fuel station

If you have access to non-ethanal fuel it isn't that big of an issue. I used stablizer with the 10% etanal fuel and it cost me a new Onan carb. I pump what's left in the tank into one of our rigs every 6 months and refill with non-ethanal + Stabil and have no issues.

RE: Need help-looking for 26' range toy hauler. Good makers?

Our Tahoe 26FS sounds like it might fit your bill. Even though it is listed as a 26 ft, it's overall length is 30.5 ft. I believe the payload is 3000 or 3500. They are no longer made but there are plenty of used ones around. AKA Vortex or MVP. If I did it again I would skip the on-board generator and fuel station. Good Luck.

RE: Flat Screen TV in existing dog house TV location

I turned my old TV location into storage and mounted a LED on the wall. The old location was too high anyway.
