RE: Backing up

Had a PUP for 20 years that I could back in anywhere. Now that its into the 2nd year with the TT, I must say that Ive become quite proficient in using my mirrors. It will come to you and next thing you know you're an old pro!

RE: Now this is some serious toad haulin'!!

The one I saw recently had a Class A with a Quad hanging on the back, pulling a pickup truck for a toad that was pulling a trailer that had an airplane on it, now that is taking it all with you.
Taking it all with you
Steve
Crazy how he has that quad strapped to his ladder! And people are worried about hanging bikes on theirs?!? :B

RE: Dealing with moisture in the fridge

We've been propping the fridge and freezer open after each trip when we return the RV to storage, only to find that the next day, there is tons of condensation. You DO remember to turn the refer OFF.. right? :)
If the fridge is ambient temp, I see no reason there should be any condensation there.

RE: Weber Q question. Does size matter?

Go with the Q220. Thats what i use and I love it! The cooking surface gives me more than enough room. I would rather have a little to much space then not enough.

RE: Travel Trailer creaks and cracks when moving?

"Its just your normal noises in here" Tom Petty
Its going to creak to some degree depending on what you have greased. remember that the bars and chain are under a great deal of tension.
Like other have said, grease the bars ,NOT THE ANTI-SWAY BAR where they hook onto/into your hitch. You will see a dramatic difference in noise.
Also, you might want to make sure that you remove the anti-sway bar prior to backing in. I usually take mine off while im stopped and checking into the campground.

RE: Grease that Ball

I wipe the ball down everytime I unhitch and then tab some grease on when it's time to hitch up again.
Seems like a waste to be wiping off perfectly good grease.
I just cover the ball with one of those quart/gallon size Ziploc bags. You can zip it up enough to where it will stay on.
Only time my hitch is in the receiver is when im towing. Otherwise I pull it out so no one will walk into it. And by no one, i mean me! :S

RE: We have mice....

If you do decide to trap them (my choice from experience), these are fantastic.
I have never had mice in our rigs, but have had them in the garage. Use chunky peanut butter.
Good luck with it.

Bought a set of those a few years ago for mice in my storage barn. Ortho made them. Thought they were the coolest thing. Super easy to set.
Somebody finally invented a better mouse trap

RE: Just found a super easy way to take the black streaks off

Washed the trailer today,, had some black streaks that didn't wash off, grabbed a microfiber rag,,, sprayed some lemon pledge on it,, wiped over the black,, poof,, all gone,, I have metal siding on my trailer, but tried some on the trim around the windows.. came right off there too..Didn't want to use anything harsh, and take the wax off,, Not sure if this has been posted before,, but spring is here and camping season is too,, so didn't think it would hurt to post it.
Thanks for the tip! Im going to try it. I know she needs a good bath!
I Use Pledge Multi-Surface and a micro fiber cloth around the house for the flat screens as well as dusting. Wonder if that will work just as well as the plain old Pledge. :h
One way to find out I guess!
I tried the Pledge Multi-surface cleaner last night on some black streaks and it didn't work well. I guess you need the regular Pledge. I did end up using some turtle wax spray on bug/tar remover that worked excellent.
thanks for the info!

RE: Ultra Fab Kudos

DE88ROX, you may be on to something. I don't know anything about the customer service for my 6 year old jack.
Good to hear Ultra Fab steps up.
Did some reading on Ultra-fab on Amazon. Reviews on the product were about as bad there as they are here.
Barker on the other hand? Raving!
At the end of the day I want a product that will last more than a year. I don't want to keep talking to the great customer service reps they have to keep getting it fixed and or swapped out.
Its like always getting bad food at a restaurant but you keep returning because the service is so good. :h

RE: Another new member

DE88ROX We camp at Brooklyn Trails also for the August race we have always had a great time there. We are going to try Graves Farm this year for the June race.
Nice. We're in sec:a
Section A Row 1 We will have 3 lots there this August
So you must be south of the store on the hill. Those would be cool sites to just sit and people watch. lol

RE: Ultra Fab Kudos

Im beginning to wonder if Ultra-fab is the way to go as I am looking at power tongue jacks. All I read on here is how good the customer service is and how quickly and easily it is to get a replacement.
Seems a lot of you have had issues with this brand, thus having to deal with their outstanding customer service.
I think it's great that they stand behind the product, but it seems to me the product doesn't hold up that well. If it did, I wouldn't be reading all these posts about how this or that broke, motor quit after 7 months etc.
I don't know, just my observation.

RE: Kitty Litter ?

Damprid has many different types of products to reduce moisture. I put 2 of the throw away buckets in the TT over the winter. Seemed to work just fine. 1 bucket will last up to 6 months. Of course, that depends on how much moisture it's exposed to.

RE: Portable Ice Maker

I just use the ice maker I have in my home freezer. Starting a few days prior to taking off, I just dump what ever was made that day into a plastic bag. More than enough ice for our drinks.
One less thing I have to pack and deal with.

RE: Ladder Mounted Flag Safe?

Well Bob, cpmath now knows TWO RV'ers who fly flags 5 above the roof of their RVs. Why, I did just that over the past weekend while camping at Richmond International Raceway for the NASCAR races. Weather was perfect. No wind or lightening.
And I do not consider the American Flag to be "a decoration", lumped in with tackey pink flamingos.
RIR is on my "Tracks I must visit" list!

RE: Ladder Mounted Flag Safe?

I don't know anyone that has an aluminum flagpole sticking up on a aluminum ladder 5 feet higher than their RV, next month, or next season I would expect you'll be posting asking about an electrical problem AFTER you've been struck by lightning. Do away with the lightning rod and flag, put your flag in a window and camp, not decorate.
I think its safe to assume that you've never camped for a week at a NASCAR race.
On a side note: for those of you that like your space while camping and hate the sounds of generators running 24/7 Ummmm you might want to stay away. just sayin' :-)

RE: Which Of These Is Better

Both do the same job. Both are expensive. I guess it depends on how many bells and whistles one needs just for a honey wagon.
Last year on Memorial Day w/e while we were camping we took a walk around the campground and came upon a seasonal site where this guy was selling a 22 gallon honey wagon for $50.00. I got it for 40!!! great deal! took it home, bleached it out and its good as new! Only thing I had to do was buy the bar that hooks it to your hitch for hauling to the dump station.
