RE: Adjustable Water Pressure Regulator

I left one hanging on the hose bib in New Mexico !!!
PS I've seen some pretty high pressure -- enough to pop the water filter connectors! Never leave the water on while away from the rig!

RE: Ham radio.

Skipj,
Been a ham since '57... always take something camping/rving. FT879D covers the water front and performs well on compromise antennas (with tuner) Use it on Winlink for email, PSK31 (or other digital variations) for DX and check into RV/Waterway cruisers net 7.268 mornings or SCARS. Use hamsticks ($20) behind the cab when rolling, Up to 50ft mast as vertical when parked or put 20mtr hamstick dipole up. DX Engineering NVIS if I have room - works NVIS on 40 & 80 - and tunes up pretty good on all but 17. Good bunch on 7.268 all day long.
Get a rig and get on!

RE: Removal of trailer tires hub covers?????

On my rig the hub covers are held on by the wheel. They are inserted from the back side. Wheel has to come off to get to the hub.

RE: Tablet Advice

I picked up a Lenovo 7" Android and I really like it. Less than $150. Good size for travel big enough to see, small enough to carry. Good gps performance, some great apps. Good battery life. Two cameras - good skype on wifi, also use it on echolink.

421 is your best bet with that rig - 321 has had a bridge out and a detour for a while and will make you sick its so curvy.

RE: These campers were very well prepared

Couple of things - the owner is maticulous - would never post such a poor photo - Anybody who built this would show it off with a "great photo" There's evidence at the lower front bar edge of photoshoping. The shadows don't play together nor do the reflections in the door lid. The projection of the line along lower edge of the sleeping area does not extend properly - close but not square. Yes there is a tongue jack caster - where's the crank? No stools!
But I bet he stirs up a heck of a manhattan!
Oh ... I have some camp sites in Florida I need to sell .... meet me at low tide out side of St Marks !!

RE: Grey water plumbing drip in a glued joint, how ro repair?

Ted, the couple of times I've had this problem, I was able to slip a knife blade in the joint in enough places to take the joint apart - the glue had not been allowed to cure. Was probably just lucky.
If it won't come apart - a small hole drilled thru the outside layer of the joint might let you inject some epoxy - as a temp fix.
Of course, you could just leave it alone - gray water won't hurt anything and it will likely plug up on its own over time - unless its really loose - if it is ... it should come apart.
Confusus say - if there is nothing wrong with your TT .... wait till u r 500 miles from home .... something will turn up!

RE: Generator in 5th Wheel

If you've ever seen one going down the road ON FIRE ... you will think twice about gasoline and/or propane open or in op while towing it. (it exploded 3 miles down the road)
The suspension on 5th's is nothing like that on a class A. The "beatin and bangin" that goes on can not be underestimated, especially on some of the roads heavily traveled by 18 wheelers.
That coupled with the potential for the accumulation of CO ... keep the class A.

RE: Refer madness !

Yep ... these "Refers" are slow to get going on propane and are sensitive to being level! Even the smallest spider web in the burner can screw it up. I blow mine out on a regular basis - especially after sitting for a while - burn the propane frequently to knock the rust out. I've found that when starting from scratch (a hot box), a couple of blue ice packs in the freezer seems to kick start the cycle and helps to stabilize things quicker. We just leave them in there when on the road. (turn the propane OFF - doesn't do well in gas stations).

RE: These campers were very well prepared

What we have here is a bad case of photoshop!
Most of the CC I've been in lately have "no alcohol" policy, "no gun" policy and "no dog" policy!
I have a "no management" policy! - Enforced by a Doberman, backup by S&W 44 Mag, and if you want another beer - you have to "Ask me nicely"!
