RE: Electrical Problems

Sounds like the water from washing gave you a problem. You need to start isolating the circuits. Fridge first to find the short.
Question: Did you hook the battery up correctly??

RE: Dometic Fridge Freezing

Just thought I would update all incase this happens to anyone else.
I found the sensor at the bottom of the fridge and off the plastic clip.
I reattached the sensor to the clip and placed it back onto the fin section of the fridge.
All is better now. Thanks for the replies.

Dometic Fridge Freezing

Having problems keeping the fridge from freezing. Any ideas. Also curious how this automatic thermostat works.
My thought is maybe I have too much stuff in it and is effecting the sensor somehow???
I do not have the temp select option like my older camper had, it only has an Auto or Gas option button. There is a plastic piece that looks like it attached to a fin on the fridge coil section but I do not know how it was supposed to attach.

"Enclosed" Underbelly

Thought I would share my amusement with Rockwoods definition of "Enclosed" Underbelly.
I just finished installing a Tornado Flush on the Black and Grey tanks. I also had a small mouse problem over the winter. So when putting the plastic corrugate back together I noticed all the gaps along the trailer underneath and along the frame. I do not understand how Rockwood can define it as "Enclosed"
Well, two cans of Great Stuff, one tube of silicone, 1/2 sheet of additional plastic corrugate, 2-dozen screws and I can now state I have a "Enclosed" Underbelly.
To all that think there's is sealed, it's not. Let me save you a few headaches and highly recommend that you truly seal the underbelly of the trailer.

Sealing underbelly

Need some good suggestions to sealing the sealed underbelly. I need to get around the small openings that are there to prevent anymore rodent infestation. The expanding foam is too messy and will not get into the small areas, plus it is not pleaseing to look at. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

RE: No12v Power in Sunset Creek 298BHS

Have you tried following the wiring harness leaving the battery? If I am not mistaken there is a fuse at the junction box of where the battery wiring meets the trailer wiring. Typically located on the inside section of the frame.

RE: Campgrounds that don't allow firearms

I mean this as no offense to the OP, but.....
If you have a Class A or a LTC you are educated enough to understand its responsibilities.
Law or No Law...If an owner of ANY property refuses you to have a firearm on their property you best leave it alone and respect their wishes. If anyone has a problem with that then they also have the right to camp elsewhere. If they still have a problem with that then I do not understand how and why they ever got a Class A to begin with.

RE: 1/2 ton tow vehicle w/30 ft

I have made the transition the opposite way. For years I towed with a 3/4 ton dodge and a 5500# TT. It was a great set-up, comfortable to tow, and lots of overkill.
Today I tow a total weight of 7,000 - 7,200 lbs on average with a 1/2 ton crew. The wheel base is comfortable and I really enjoy the ride. I am educated and comfortable in how the set-up handles and that is key. If you are not comfortable with it then it is wrong to proceed.
Be educated with your limitations and do not exceed them. Be comfortable in your decisions and enjoy the ride. If your "White-knuckled" then get off the road and go buy the 3/4-ton.
You appear to be within your limitations, the biggest question would be how comfortable are you towing it?

RE: Barker 3500 jack price

$200 seems to be the standard "good price" that people have been buying. I just picked up the 3500 at a show for $220. I also read on here that someone picked up a refurbished on ebay for under $100. I would be very curious how that worked out for them.
I have yet to install mine, but I do believe the tube you are referring to is the dimension of the hole opening the jack fits into, not the actual jack support tube. on most heavier trailers it appears that the 2 1/4-inch is the norm. The lighter trailers may have a 2-inch opening and the 3500 will not fit because it is 2 1/4 inch. I guess you could always bore it out to the 2 1/4 if you had to.

RE: 30# propane

You need to know the tare weight. Like the previous post mentioned it is stamped on the tank as TW. If you need to know how much propane is in the tank you can weigh the tank and subtract the tare weight to find the weight of the propane.

RE: It's gone. Sellers remorse?

When I sold my pop-up I remembered all the good times with the kids as babies and felt bad about selling it. Then I wheeled in the 26 footer and thought about all the new memories we would create. Then I sold the 26 footer it and felt bad again thinking about all those memories in it. Then I wheeled in the 31 footer and was excited all over again for the new memories.
Its a constant roller-coaster isn't it? Man is it fun!!! Can't wait till I'm ready to sell the 31-footer and see what I'll wheel in the driveway next!!!!

Barker 3500 Power Jack

Went to the RV show in Springfield this weekend. Man there are some nice rigs coming out.
I found a supplier with a 2-yr old Barker 3500 Jack new in box. I offered him $200 for it and we settled at $220. I ended up purchasing it but am rethinking it over.
Was this a good deal?

Is the box required with the newer TV's. I am not sure how it would work with the Concertone Garbage.
