RE: China Bombs Got Me

so were they 16" E rated? That is what came on my fifth wheel and I have had no problems thus far for 3 years.

RE: Rear-end lube change

Different strokes, but if I were changing the diffy oil and the diff had a removable pan, I would take it off.
All the bad stuff, if any, will be on the bottom.

RE: Recommendations for RV Garage?

Considering your personal needs and the local codes, you could consider an unheated pole barn. it is what fits your needs.

RE: Fifth Wheel Capabilities Truck

Looking at GM online fleet ordering guide CLICKY LINK shows your 2500 Chevy WT has 3500-3600 lbs payload. The truck will have no problems carrying that trailers pin weight.
Now the deal killer is GM say the '12 2500 WT 6.0 4x4 short bed 3.73 has a 9800 lb tow rating (4.10 gears = 14300 lb)
IMO any smallblock pulling over 12k will not make for a comfortable towing experience. The truck will struggle at those loads. I would stick with a 10k wet weight trailer.
OK I give, give me an example of a 2012 LARGE block.
OP if you got a 6 speed you should be fine in towing with 5th most of the time.

I think you need to worry about something else - like running out of brewskies.
Oh and to quote some famous people - nuf said. :B
I am glad my trans temp gauge does not have degrees on it.

RE: Water in Fuel

I got my money on the sensor system having a problem. However instead of messing around on the keyboard I would catch some fuel and look. Water will be totally separated and show up in the bottom of the catch jar.
By the way, when I had a diesel I put an extension hose on the bottom of the drain tube and zip tied it secure so I always had easy access.
Flying J just could not afford to be pumping water in those big company rigs. :h

RE: I think I've got the answer

I have never had my fridge not work because my trailer was not level, just saying. I think the level issue is grossly exaggerated. There have been many times I got it only eyeball level and I know it was off.
yeah, I am with you on that gypsie. However if I feel like I am gonna roll out of bed, it is time to do something. :W

RE: 5th Wheel Travel with Large Dogs

Our two labs have plenty of room on the back seat of the crew cab. no kids involved - they both have grey in their hair. :W
Anyhow I ordered a custom form fitting seat cover from etrailer - turned out great. Protects the seat and the hair does not get stuck in it.

RE: Long Box--Short Box?

I sure would not let a hitching issue deter me from a crew cab if that is what I wanted. You can figure out a way to get hooked and besides you do not do that that often.
As far as gas tanks some folks just do not know and assume all short beds have little fuel tanks. OP did not mention type of motor. The newer Ford gas short beds have a 35 gallon tank.

RE: Long Box--Short Box?

I have owned both short and long box. Now have a 2012 Crew cap short box. Will never even consider going back to a long box. That is a personal preference, so let the OP decide that. Also he may be like me and never need a slider.
Now back to the op :S I have a 2WD 2012 F250 crew cab short box. I took both center head rests out. Still have A hard time with my crikety neck getting high enough to see the hitch. I think with another year's practice I will have it. :h

RE: Why idle?

Common folks, you should lock the vehicle when you leave it running and unattended.
I have been doing it for years with both gas and diesel.
When traveling with the two labs, for me that is the only humane way to do it. :h

RE: 2013 FORD F-250 6.2 GAS ENG. MPG

Well I have one of those animals - a 2012 and yank a 11.5K fifth wheel with it. just went to the far side (gas) from a psd. Has the 4.30.
Had it on the road last winter and here is what I found out.
At 65 mph it is turning 2000 R's in 6th.
I only used the computer for a warm and fuzzy on the mileage. Got 8.6 at the worst and 8.7 at the best.
it pulls fine and I did run the smokies with it.

RE: Think I Fixed My Generator

I am with rockhil on this issue. I don't have a prob with the E 10.
Every one of my little motors started this spring after sitting thru the winter with E 10 in them. I did have a little snake oil in there for the hibernation though.
