Any Hunter's out there? Jerky Seasoning

Looking for a recipe for making Ground venison or ground beef Jerky. I have seasoning recipes for sliced. I'm looking for a seasoning mix recipe for ground jerky. I normally buy it at Walmart or bass pro for $6. would like to make one myself. Thanks Deb

RE: Whatcha Having For Christmas Dinner?

We fixed this HeeHawHoney it was good. I used frozen corn, I think it would have been better with fresh. Thanks for the recipe. Husband loved it.

RE: Whatcha Having For Christmas Dinner?

KLO I almost forgot the venison stuffed green peppers as an appetizer. These are made by my 15 year old grandson, came up with the recipe himself and they are awesome!
Can you post your grandson's recipe. My husband just got his third deer and I need some new recipes. Thanks Deb

RE: Garlic Prime Rib

Just copied this recipe from Allrecipes also. I'm going to try it on xmas day. I usually cook my prime rib on a show-time rotissuriedidn't spell that right. It comes out nice and it's easy. Thought I would try this recipe for something different.
Fixed my prime rib just like the recipe called for. Didn't notice a big difference from the way I usually fix it. I normally put worchestire (sp?) on it, then garlic powder, lots of montreal pepper. Put it on the rotisseriere to cook. It tastes great.Sorry for the misspelled words couldn't get spell check to work.

RE: Ok to Tenn

Would like to thank everyone who helped us plan our wonderful trip to Tenn.
We left SW OK and stayed first night at Brushy Creek in Sallisaw. Use to be a State Park the city bought. Nice people and is on a little lake. Nicely spaced sites. Then we headed to Forrest City, AR. Nice campground we practically had to ourselves. Next to Nashville - We decided to stay at the COE Percy Priest Lake 7 miles east of town. Probably the nicest COE we have stayed at. Large sites and picnic tables some sites have view of lake. Easy drive for us to the Opry and other shows. Next to Pigeon Forge area we stayed in Sevierville,TN. at Cove Mountain Creek. The people were very nice. They have no bath house which I thought would not be a problem we had full hook-up. Unfortunately we had a major sewer problem. Glad we had friends with us with RV. Mostly perm. RVers. Easy 15 minutes into town. Lucked out Pigeon F. and Gatlinburg were having a slow week and traffic wasn't bad. Next stop Chattanooga,TN. we stayed at Holiday Village RV park. Very nice helpful staff. Park lives up to it's wonderful ratings. Next off to Memphis Tom Sawyer RV Park. Not sure if it really lives up to it's reviews. Nice being camped on the river and watching all the barges go up and down the river. Because of lack of rain it was windy and dusty and no shade. But a great place if you want to go to Beal St. and downtown Memphis. Next to Cotter, AR our favorite campground trout fishing spot. We stay at White River Cottage and RV Campground. Backed right up to the White River beautiful view. Just want to say Thank you very much for all your helpful suggestions and helping us make our vacation wonderful. We lucked out with beautiful weather and managed to avoid the Hurricane. Thanks again.

Highway 64 across Tennessee

We are driving west from Chattanooga TN and want to avoid Nashville (lots of construction and delays last week)and are wondering about highway 64 westbound. Is it RV friendly? Fuel is no problem but frustration over delays is.

RE: Ok to Tenn

COE has a very nice CG on Percy Priest Lake right in East Nashville area but doesn't have sewer (has dump). Easy off I 40 and close by but is very secluded, wooded CG that is close to the Hermitage, home/farm of Andrew Jackson. The CG is difficult to get in on weekends but usually can during the week.
GSMNP is a big area in both NC and TN. You want to see Cades Cove and the Elk herd. There is plenty of info at visitors' centers both in Gatlinburg and GSMNP. Lots and lots of hiking trails. If you stay in Gatlinburg or Pidgeon Forge make sure the CG is served by the trolley so you don't have to drive in the touristy areas outside of GSMNP. Have fun!
We now have reservations for Percy Priest Lake we are staying in Seven Points campground they take reservations. We have a couple of shows booked for Grand Ole Opry. Thanks can't wait to see Nashville leaving this Friday.

RE: Ok to Tenn

Your Schnauzer will love the trip. Ours loves to travel in the RV. She has a spot behind the passenger seat that she likes to sleep. If you want a nice spot to camp about 50 miles west of Memphis on I40 there is a great state park. It is called Village Creek in Forrest City Arkansas. It is an Arkansas State Park with full hooks up and lots of space. They take reservations. It is off interstate I would guess five miles.
Enjoy your trip with your new travel buddy.
Thanks we now have reservations for Village Creek in Forrest City.

RE: Ok to Tenn

Ok I'm finally getting our trip booked for Tenn. Have some questions.
We are considering staying at either of the following RV parks.
Creekside RV - Pigeon Forge $36
Foothill RV. Park - PF $36
Twin Creek Gatlinburg $60 pricey I think.
Any inputs on these. I have never been to the area and after reading the reviews have narrow it down. I think we want the park to be on Trolley route because of parking? Looking for level, easy to get into. back ins are fine. (so I don't have to heard my husband get mad at me because he is frustrated!) You all have been there. Sites to accomendate slides. Cable and wifi would be nice, pool. There will be two RV's no kids, two small dogs. I think we will be mostly on the go site seeing the areas. Wasn't sure if we should stay in PF,Gat,Seveirville. Thanks.

RE: Rv Parks In Tacoma WA

If you are retired military Ft. Lewis has a really nice campground. McChord AFB also has one. We stayed at Ft. Lewis Army and really enjoyed it. The bases are right next to each other.

RE: Feeding 3 families

I just made this recipe a friend gave me for over the fourth. It was really easy and you can cook it ahead of time.
Cafe Rio Chicken
2 Lbs of chicken breast
1/2 a small bottle of zesty Italian dressing
1/2 TB. minced garlic
1 pkg of ranch dressing plus 1/2 cup of water
1/2 TB chili powder
1/2 TB ground cumin
Put all in crock pot and cook on high for 5-6 hrs. or low for 8.
Shred with fork and serve in salads, burritos, tacos, Fajitas, etc. You can doulble or triple this to make extras for freezing. Then simply thaw and reheat for a lickiy split meals. You can spice it up more depending on how you like it. It was a big hit and easy.

Ok to Tenn

In Aug. we are planning a trip from OK to Tenn. we would like to stop in Nashville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area smokey mountains etc. We have never been. We will leave on the 17 Aug afternoon and make it to OK border. Was wondering if there are certain sites or towns along the way we should spend more time in. We have to be home on the 3rd of Sept. Any suggestions would be helpful. We will be traveling just the two of us and first time with our schnauzer. Any RV parks would be helpful also. Thanks Deb

RE: Okmulgee & Dripping Springs State Parks

Thanks Tatest, haven't heard of Strayhorn Landing. We will check it out. Unfortunately Tenkiller has the high cell count also. But we will make a note of the park for future place to stay. We really like COE's they seem to be nice parks.

RE: Okmulgee & Dripping Springs State Parks

Thank You for your help. After checking out the campgrounds in the area The lakes have a high cell threshold count and water activities are off limits. So we have decided to head up to Tulsa area and possible stay at Keystone State Park. Maybe take in the Oklahoma play if it's going on and some Tulsa restaurants etc. I guess we will catch the other parks some other time. Thanks good to know about Greenleaf.
