RE: 2014 Chevy High Country

We had a 2014 Chevy Silverado on order, but then learned of all the rebates on the 2013's and located the exact 2013 with the options wanted we went with the 2013. The 2014's look very good, however a 2015 will fit our needs and with over $7,000 + in rebates on a 2013 that was a no brainer. But this is the first truck we have owned that wasn't a HD, we are pleased with the 2013, and it's is paid for.. And I only buy GM Trucks and cars, with the exception of the Freightliner M2 we owned... And we have retired from RVing and the 2013 Chevy fills our needs.... Happy Trails...

RE: Building pole barn for the rv...suggestions?

We had a 40'x50', 16' built, should have went with a 40'x60'. We have a great pole barn. Mistake! Should have inclosed the building with two 12' roll up doors. Good Luck. Happy Trails..

RE: which pin box

Have only used the Trail Air pin box, but went right back to the Trailer Saver air ride hitch. Then you have no need except for a standard pin box. And the Trailer Saver can be used when you upgrade your 5th wheel.. I have used the Trailer Saver in 3 different Trucks.. Good Luck on your choice.. Happy Trails...

RE: B&W Fifth Wheel Rails VS Goose Neck

I have owned a B&W system with the Companion 5th wheel hitch, excellent steel hitch. Only issue is the weight capacity with the Companion, 18,000 lb. However I highly recommend the Trailer Saver. Good Luck... Happy Trails...

RE: 2013 Rams HD have hit the lot.

The new 2014 GM Trucks can be ordered after Mar. 1st, my plan since retiring from Rving was to order a 2014. And the order would have went in on or around Mar. 1st. But after the research, I decided with no rebates for the 2014's, I instead had my dealership find the a 2013 with the options I wanted, everything except NAV system. And with the rebates and my 2012 Chevy 3500HD, I have a 2013, and no payments and $5,000 cash in my pocket. Good Luck with the 2013 Rams.. Happy Trails...
P.S. GM web site has the 2014's and looks good to me, but I don't like a lot of eye candy. I just want a Truck thats functional. We had 7 or 8 GM HD's and never had no issues.. None went back to the dealership except for service. I will say I don't like the DEF system, but I never had a issue with either the 2011 or 2012 GM 3500HDs.

RE: GM bringing 4G wireless into vehicles by next year

I think the hotspot was offered on the 2013 Chevy 1500, LTZ, as I researched the 2013 model I believe I remember seeing it was available, but not sure. Going to get the new 2013 Chevy tomorrow in Oneonta, Ala. Will check with dealer.. Happy Trails...

RE: Pressure Pro Question...

I do remove mine if setting longer than a month. Very simple to remove and Install. I use a egg carton (4ea) to store the sensors... It's just a choice.. Happy Trails...

RE: A 3500 truck with just the Chassis for towing.....

Yep, I have a CM hauler bed and my clearance bed to fiver is 22". I don't know if I gained any more hauling capacity, the CM bed is all steel. But I don't have a issue with capacity on towing or hauling.. Happy Trails...
P.S. Didn't think of ordering the 2012 Chevy without the pick-up bed. But I sold the bed back to the dealer...

KOA coupons

(I have 5 KOA coupons for 25.00 off of camping or use in store that expire Feb. 28, 2013. I hate to see them expire. Send me your address and I will send you what you think you can use before they expire.)
The KOA coupons went fast. No more requests please.

RE: Another Pilot RV Plus Card Issue

I have used Flying J card for years and when Pilot bought flying J. I used it until I got the Flying J/Pilot. I have had no issues at all. Excellent service.. Flying J/Pilot is one of the major Truck Stops that cater to RVer's. If you have a issue, go to the Manager, if not satisfied call the Corporate office.. The Flying J/Pilot are there for RVer's also... When I refuel I take on 60 to 70 gals in most cases.. Never a issue....
Happy Trails....

RE: Ideas for protecting my hitch from theft

Never met anyone in person who had a 5th wheel hitch stolen !!! However a 1/4" drill bit and any pull pins can be made to attach a pad lock. Most RV supply houses (Camping World) has the washer type that slips over the pull pin to insert a pad lock... But locks only keeps honest people honest. It they want it, they will get it... Happy Trails...

RE: Which truck is best ?

The 2011/2012 3500HD's DRW's will be fine. We have a 2010 38 RSSB 3 Mobile Suites loaded 18,200 and the 2012 Chevy 3500HD DRW's has no issues stopping or pulling. Pulled the same rig with the Freighliner M2 over the same Colorado Rockies. And the Chevy 2012 actually handled the 18,200 as well. Good Luck with your choice.. Happy Trails....

RE: Keystone Everest vs Keystone Montana

I owned a 2005 Everest 343L and had no problems at all. I haven't owned a Montana but in 2005 they the Montana vs Everest were about the same except trim etc. I also owned what I though was the best 5th wheel Keystone ever produced. We were full timing and the 2006 Cambridge by Keystone was by far the best Keystone ever built. It was very heavy, but never a issue in 22,000 miles.. I would recommend the Montana's owner site and there are some great people there. I resigned my membership due to constant conflicts with one moderator. But it's a good place to gain valuable information.. Happy Trails...
