RE: RV Flips..

Multiple blunt trauma??? As I found out, his age is prime time check-out time as far as the heart goes. I read his age to be 58 and that is "prime time check-out"?? I thought it was young and I'm not too much older than that!!

RE: Easiest Thanksgiving Menu I could find.

Yeah man !! Golden Corral ... slip on da ol' feed bag ha ha ha ... think now they are doing one kid get eats for free, right ? I dont know how true it is .. but I heard that people were going in there at the end of lunch staying for hours and having dinner also ... so they've set a time limit ... I dont think Ive seen anything posted that suggests or supports that idea ... but I could see why they would do it. An aquaintance of my daughter's said she would go to Golden Corral on the weekend for the breakfast buffet, arrive late and hang around for the lunch buffet, now that is tacky to say the least!!! She was also known to line a large purse with foil and nab a few steaks to go.If I was low enough to do anything like that I don't think I'd tell anyone! :E Dianne

RE: What is wrong with my wireless router?

Are you talking about the desktop in the garage? It had no wireless, just the adapter that I installed. I may bring the desktop back to the house, where it is close to the wireless router and see how it works.

RE: What is wrong with my wireless router?

Now that maybe it !! Cordless 2.4 GHz in house and garage and a daughter that calls all the time. I still think I should see the router even if poor. I will remove the cordless in the garage tomorrow and try it again.

RE: What is wrong with my wireless router?

This is not a laptop but a desktop. I have the wireless adapter on a 15ft cord handing above the garage door. I am getting a 44% signal when working and nothing when it quits. I cannot find any network doing a scan of the networks. I am on the coast of NC and very flat land. I would hope the router would work a 100 feet. I would think I could see something ever if very poor.

What is wrong with my wireless router?

I have a Linksys ultra range plus N router in my house. It works perfect with the laptop in the house. I have a older puter running Windows XP in the garage about a 100 feet from the router. I can get it up on internet and it will run ok for about 10 min. and then loose the signal. At the garage it shows a signal strength of 3 to 4 bars. When I loose the signal it shows no bars or even the network. I got it labeled as tom network and using security. If I shut the desktop down it will show the network and connect again for about 10 min. Any ideas to what going on???

RE: Grape Salad

I had some of this at a pot luck and maybe they didn't make it right but I didn't care for it. I'd like to make it,but afraid I won't like it with a different recipe either, but it really sounds good! Do you cut the grapes in half or leave them whole?

RE: Cornbread disaster

Oh,I have a great recipe I found in a 1963 McCalls cookbook,it doesn't use much sugar but taste as good as cake,I make it often and have served it to company. 1 cup sifted flour 1 cup yellow corn meal 2 T.sugar 3 t.baking powder 1/2 t salt 1 egg, beaten 1/4 cup salad oil or melted shortening 1 cup milk Preheat oven to 425,Grease an 8 X 8 inch baking pan Sift flour with sugar, baking powder, and salt.Add cornmeal mixing well, set aside In medium bowl combine egg, salad oil and milk, mixing well. Add flour mixture stirring only until flour mixture is moistened. Spoon into prepared pan, bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.Cut into squares and serve hot with butter. Makes 9 servings Note: I use self rising flour and corn meal, which cuts out the use of the baking powder and salt. This rises up,nice thick sweet pieces-soooo good! Dianne

RE: Grocery Store Savings -- your personal best?

Considering the number of coupons in extras to the Sunday paper, the paper ends up being free for the week. I just spent some time this morning clipping the ones I wanted from this Sunday's edition. You have to look for savings where you can. I don't buy stuff I don't normally use just because there is a coupon. I feel the same way. I know from reading a couple of coupon forums there are people who will take home ANYTHING if its free! I don't do that,I do stock up on things we use,as coupons seem to be "seasonal", In the summer its ketchup, salad dressings, mustard, mayo, etc things for cookouts. In early fall coupons were for soup, items for kids lunch boxes, cereal etc.Coupons for grits only come out once in a year in the fall,so being a southerner gotta stock up on them, try to find room in the freezer so they won't get buggy! Right now many coupons are coming out for items for holiday cooking-canned frosting, canned milk, cooking oil, yeast, etc.

RE: Grocery Store Savings -- your personal best?

I do realize not all have stores that double coupons,I have found that out in our travels. Using coupons is like playing cards, you have to know when to hold them and when to use them. One of our stores doesn't double, but I sometimes often save up to half on my grocery bill there also. Couponing shopping is my hobby and its like a treasure hunt,it does take up time, but is well worth the time and effort you put into it!

RE: Grocery Store Savings -- your personal best?

Oh my,is that all you saved? I have a mini grocery store in my home and as much as I can possibly load in the rv's pantry. We have a store that doubles coupons with a value of up to .99 every day, once a month lately they have been tripling that amount. On any average shopping trip with store card and coupons I save half on my grocery bill and we eat very well, that often includes rib eye steaks.ribs,seafood,etc. I also stock up on a lot of items for my daughter who lives in Myrtle Beach and has stores that only double. up to .50 coupons. I get coupons out of Sunday papers, magazines, internet printables, off of tear pads in the grocery store and have even been know to buy coupons off of ebay. When they triple coupons my out of pocket amount runs $2,$3 or less for several bags of groceries. In the past when we went to recycle the newspaper bin was running over and we'd get the coupons out of the Sunday papers on top, they changed the bins so can no longer do that. Around the holidays a lot of companies put out booklets with recipes and coupons-look for those. Nabisco has one out now with $40 in coupons in side,$1.50 off Starbucks coffee combined with a sale of $6.99 brought that $9.49 bag down to a nice price! THere is a magazine only sold at Wal-Mart,its ALL You and they always have a lot of coupons, once in awhile for free items. I could go on,but will get off my soap box,go cook breakfast and enjoy my Starbucks coffee! Oh,have to add,my "personal best" was when the grocery store ended up owing me money!! Dianne

RE: I will never buy anything from Lowrance again !!!!

No, I went to Lowrance and ordered it. It ended up costing me around $10 with the shipping. It going to cost them a lot more than that. Like I said I will not buy any thing with Lowrance again !!! Next year I am going to get a new GPS and it will be another brand, probably a Garmin. I have a Garmin on my boat and it more user friendly than the Lowrance I had on my old boat.

RE: I will never buy anything from Lowrance again !!!!

I got no complaint with the Iway 250 it works good. My problem is I am having to pay for their mistake !!!!

I will never buy anything from Lowrance again !!!!

I have a Iway 250 from Lowrance. I broke the mount for the GPS and called Lowrance for replacement. The cost was $15.45 for the part with shipping. They sent the wrong part not even close to fitting on any GPS . I called customer service back and got a RA # for a return to which I had to pay shipping. (almost $4.00) It took over a month to get it credit on my credit card and all I got was $6.45 due to a restocking fee. I called them and complained with no avail. I am furious at them. RE: Towing a BIG HORN 3670RL

I like my truck and it would be a lot more money than getting a new fiver. We really don't need a car now and I don't want a dually for my everyday driver as the truck now is. I don't know about where you live but there is no duallys on the car lots around here.

RE: Towing a BIG HORN 3670RL

If this couple does not buy my fiver. I am going to keep it until spring. There is not much that we like out there. I got a deposit at a campground in Jan. and it is too late to order a new one. The Jayco dealer told me it will take 8-10 weeks to get one.

RE: Towing a BIG HORN 3670RL

Well the truck option is out. I like the truck and it did serve my needs. The DW is going to want a car soon. I just got so much money to spent!!lol The Heartland is out also. My next truck will be a one ton as when the wife gets a new car I am going to take her car. The new truck going to have to wait a couple of years. I need the government to give RVers a stimulus.

RE: Towing a BIG HORN 3670RL

The Arctic Fox 33-5v that we now have is suppose to weight 10,500 but just after we got it I took it and weighted it and it was 11500 with very little on it. Last summer I went to a rally where it was weighted again this time loaded, it weighted 12,920 with a pin weight of 2800. The Arctic Fox or Northwood shows 1800. It looks like I can get a fiver with around 14,000 gross weight. Now what do I get? I want a good quality RV that will be towed across county and be used for extended periods of time.
