Looking For a Tractor Forum

Not sure the members of this forum have a great interest in tractors, but I know there are many talented and learned folks in here. Does anyone know of a good forum for tractors? I need help with my midfifties Model 600 Ford Golden Jubilee on some maintenance issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Don Parrish

RE: No power need help

What is the "clas-50 breaker"? How did you test it? Normally I would think in terms of resetting a breaker, not just tapping it to get it on line. What other 12VDC does or does not work?

RE: Craigslist

I tried another account but was blocked by recognition of my email address. Ron: "Contact CL" gets me the automated answers and the automated revolving door. Don

Craigslist

Although not a Class A topic, I ask here because it's obvious many on you use CL from time to time. I have not used my CL "account" for several months and when trying to do so I find I'm "on hold". Using their system all I get is an automated answer which resolves nothing and only generates another automated answer. The only forum I can find requires my CL ID and I'm denied access because I'm "on hold". How does one communicate with CL or is there a CL forum (not unlike this one) to which I can go for assistance. (I have used CL maybe five or six times in three or more years and have never violated their terms to the best of my knowledge.) Althought much off topic, I could use the help. Thanks...Don

RE: pay cash or not

Only you and your professional tax advisor can answer this question as several have suggested. Consider this: If when financing, part of the equation is the ability to deduct interest expense for a "second home" be prepared for that tax detail to go away in the coming months. That and even first home interest is being kicked around for elimination in high and serious places. Don Note: These remarks are in no way an attempt to make this a political discussion. It's in the wind...just sayin'.

RE: Need some info on selling rig

We felt PPL was fine if you only want/need less than the current market value in the proceeds to you (we didn't)(they need to make a living too). It also involves you drive your RV to Texas and get back home (toad?/fly?). Craigslist did well for us. The sellers and the buyers drove to our bank in the coach, waited for the wire transfer to be verified (preplanning was involved to prevent waiting more than a few minutes), signed and notorized the title, and the deal was done. Both parties were happy. Good sellers and good buyers can work out all the details. Honest people exist and know the drill in today's world.

RE: help! stranded at park

yoquedo, After a rather uncomplicated post I made some time back, I received a rather vulgar and insulting PM from a no name member in Canada. I did not respond but rather reported it to the moderator. In short order I had a reassuring response that the offender was 86'd but told they tend to come back with another ID. I would encourage you, when you have the time, and any other member to help weed these types out by telling our moderators. A direct response to them only gives them the attention they seek.

Blowout...Lesson Learned At Another's Expense

When the somewhat older American Tradition passed us, NB I-17 between Cordes Junction and Verde Valley driving our toad, I had no reason to think of the condition or age of the tires. The DW and I both commented as to his speed however as we were going 66-67 (75 speed limit) and the coach eased right on around us. After passing us and an eighteen wheeler and back in the right lane, there was the explosion. At the moment we were in the left lane and safely back as the debris and the truck came into our lane. Although our view was partially blocked by the truck, it was clear the coach made an immediate swerve to the right (right front tire was it). The driver did a grreat job of holding on and bringing the coach to a stop without getting too far out of the lane and side-swiping the guard rail. I did stop and walk back to where they came to rest on the shoulder and away from the traffic to see if they were okay...yes, but shaken a bit I would say. He indicated he had emergency assistance and I left them but not without congratulating him on a nice bit of driving. Lessons: The explosion was incredibly loud...inside the coach that would be enough for a heart attack much less have the senses left to drive through it to a safe stop. And the usual lessons: Tire condition, possible age, tire pressures and all the rest we should know, but do we do it.

RE: y'all are a bad influence

Great story. Well told. Would like to have seen all the faces when that deal came together...especially the sales manager. Good travels and cheap fuel to the two of you...and the Dane.
