RE: Brake controller

The new phone number is 337-328-2264. The rest of the sentence is not true. Max Brake controllers are still being built. Di
Try calling max brakes phone number listed on their website. It's disconnected. I heard they built up all their stock and don't plan to build anymore. The OEM brake controllers must have hurt business. Max brake was owned and operated by two brothers.

RE: Stabilizers

We too have another brand but also agree that the permanently installed stabilizers we use are well worth it. Di

We have disc brakes on our 38' Carriage and the Max Brake we have used for over 4 years works perfectly for us. Di

RE: Tripod brace for 5th wheel...really necessary?

Boils down to what works for you. It also makes a difference whether you are weekend warriors, part timers, some timers or fulltimers! We're fulltimers and have a 38' Carriage with a rear entertainment center. Bi-Pod helped just a bit but was a pain to put up, take down and find a place to store it. Adding rear arm jacks at the very back helped some but again not enough elimination in movement for me. Have been happy since adding permanently mounted stabilizers over 7 years ago. Di

RE: Break controller

We're on the Max Brake side. We've been using ours for 4 1/2 years. We thought the Jordan Ultima 2020 that we had prior was the greatest til we switched to the MB. We're fulltimers who average between 15 to 20,000 miles a year and have never had an issue. Di

RE: Doesn't Pay

I don't know but his other part of the e-mail seemed to definitely be referring to this forum so I just figured he typed wrong. Will probably never hear from him again so it's moot at this point. Di
Thanks for the replies
Could be, I guess.
I do have numerous people asking for different forum assistance-I guess because I am active on quite a few forums.
My e-mail is in my profile
Campininthewoods--I can't find any forum for that-maybe it is an old one??
Lottery--yeah right- We did win a minor amount once and that was the biggie so now I treat myself to a Starbucks-at least I get something tangible for my money;)
Anyway I did what I thought was my good deed for the day and I'm going to keep thinking that and just not worry about it anymore. Di
Di you had included he was refering to rvnetwork.com which I typed in and it takes me another forum not related to rv.net. I assumed that was what he was refering to when asking for help.....

Doesn't Pay

I guess it just doesn't pay anymore when a person you don't know contacts you to ask you to help him getting into this forum. zoidicus e-mailed me that he wanted to post about a brake problem and wanted to post it on this forum. His e-mail to me:RVNetwork's registration confirmation email never shows up. Maybe you can help me with the registration Then when you decide to try and help by posting his request and notifying the moderator, you are taken to task for posting his e-mail address, which I had permission to do,and then zoidicus came back on the forum to say he didn't have an issue with registration and for the moderator to delete the whole post - which apparently he did.
Next time I'll know better. Di

RE: Camping without unhooking from tow vehicle

The majority of the time if we are just stopping for the night, we stay hooked up. We put out our living room slides just enough to be comfortable and put the bedroom slide out fully. We don't put our jacks down unless we are on a very unlevel spot. Been working for us for 17 years. Di

RE: Landing gear cross braces

Maybe it depends on how much time you spend in your RV? We are on our 17th year of fulltiming and I put up with interior movement for almost 8 years. Dutch did put a Bi-Pod up and also added additional rear arm jacks over those years but there was still too much interior movement from walking and it was especially bothersome in the wind.
We use our permanently installed stabilizers daily and for us we wouldn't be without them. We have almost no movement and being in the wind is something we don't even notice anymore.
Dutch also likes that he doesn't have to put anything up or to take down and store. Di

RE: 91 carrige 5er

Don't forgot to climb up on the roof to check things out and also get underneath and look around-that will tell you a lot of what this Carriage has been through.
We are still in our original 1996 and it has held up fantastically well. Of course we've been the only owners and know that we have taken care of everything.
back then Carriage was making quality units so it really could be a great deal. Di

RE: GIGGLY WIGGLY MOTION

XX3 on any brand of aftermarket permanently installed stabilizers. We're used our for over 6 years and tossed our Bi-Pod! Di
Any of the stabilizers that attach to the jacks and other stabilizers will work better than the king pin stabilizer. I installed JT Strongarms and they work great. Sold the tripod.Yep, what he said.

RE: Adding Stabilizers to our camper?

We mounted our stabilizers on our Big Foot Leveling System pads but the stabilizers nor hydraulic system are not the brand you are talking about. Di
So guessing there's not anyone here that has mounted Stabilizers on there Hydraulic jacks with pads like this?

What a BARAGIN!!!

Something good to pass along! We stopped at a local Camping World this afternoon to return an item. Since we had pulled in hooked up, we decided to get propane. The gal told us that for an indefinite time, all CW's who sell propane will be charging half price on Tuesdays & Wednesdays! We filled up one tank and topped off the other. What a nice treat. Hugs, Di

RE: King pin stabilizer need it or not???

We're in the group with permanently installed stabilizers. We've used our for over 6 years. Before that it was a bi-pod, which for me didn't work at all! Then Dutch added an additional set of arm jacks at the very rear of our Carriage and between the two they did help some but not enough for our fulltime use. We've been completely happy since going this route and Dutch doesn't have to put up or take down anything or find a place to store it. Di

RE: Stabilizers for auto level jacks?

We've been using permanently attached front & rear stabilizers for almost 7 years on our 38' Carriage. I'm like your wife----I don't want movement inside my "home". They work perfect for us. Di

RE: TST 507 sensor battery replacement?

If you will pm me, I'll scan in the battery replacement page of my TST manual which shows pictures and e-mail it to you. Di.
ps just curious-how long did your battery last?
I have done it to mine. The battery will "slide" out from under the plastic ring and just slide the new one under. It is not very hard to move so be careful. Also watch which side is "up" so the polarity is correct.
Housted
Battery didn't last very long but I couldn't fine the manual and TST's website didn't help. Lost the old 510 sensors in a house fire. Thanks again for the quick response.

RE: Auto Level questions

I've read lots of post recommending auto level systems and have a couple of questions.
Do they completely eliminate the need to use drive-on wheel leveling ramps? I can only speak for the Big Foot Leveling System as that is what we use. We have not found any need for drive on ramps.
When parked on a severe enough side to side slope... will they lift the tires entirely off the ground?Yes, but we were only in that situation once in the 4 years we've had Big Foot.
Do you open your slides before or after auto leveling? It just depends on who gets to what 1st. Most of the time, I have the slides open and the satellite up by the time Dutch has unhooked and is ready to level. We did the same thing with our Power Plus levelers that we had for 12 years before BF and have never experienced a problem.
If you open you slides after auto leveling is it sometimes necessary to re-level?We've never had to re-level because of the slides. Di
Thanks
