OK nothing has been said but are we having a potluck Saturday evening? Any other meals together? Sorry I had to throw a schedule in there. No one has said anything and Dottie and I were trying to plan our meals.

We were camping the weekend before last and will be out the first weekend in May before we gather in Gettysburg. So we will have a bit of a fix before we arrive to see everyone. However you can NEVER get TOO much camping. Just wish we could full or part time half the year at least.

Gee my nephew is getting married the same weekend as Gettysburg and I will be in Gettysburg. (the wedding is a little far for a weekend jaunt)

Awww Kurt I really wasn't yelling at you! That was more of a na na na na na type of thing. Didn't you see the smiley face afterward??? I really wouldn't want to hurt your ears ya know. I like caps as more of an attention getter than meaning to yell. I use them a lot at work so people don't miss what is important.

I normally get Friday off and I have Thursday off but this year I can't get Friday off so we will see you later Friday evening around 6-7pm. My office is getting a new computer system and it has put a crimp in days off through the end of June. I hate it when that four letter word (work) gets in the way of camping and fun!!!!!

One of these days Rick and I are going to attend one of "The Rallies" that is if they ever have one close enough to us that it won't cost us a fortune in gas to get there or if we retire and are just traveling around and happen to be in the area of one.

Mike we made a reservation when we checked out at OMS in October so I know that we are in for that gathering but I am not sure of the site # I think we have #322 and Dottie and Kenn (her new fella) also reserved a site next to us but I don't know that site# either as she reserved later.

He did go to an FMCA rally along with us. We will try to call this week to make reservations. Kurt is just trying to catch up on work since he played all last week and spent more $$ than he wanted to.

We are sooooooo loooking forward to Friday. Today went by sooo slow. I am like Jim and getting really excited about the weekend and next weeks adventure. Actually I just can't wait for a week off where I don't have to work at my job, a rally or anything else that I don't want to. :) That will be so nice and the only thing that could make it better is if it were at a nice warm beach and I had an endless cash flow.........Keep dreaming...right!!

Kurt I was actually up at 5:30 this morning. I am up before 5 am almost every morning so it is hard to sleep late. I am seldom in bed later than 7am but I go to bed with the chickens most of the time too.
We are going on Saturday. Rick wants to be there when they open. We will drive MH to Gettysburg on Friday after I get off work and drive to Hershey Sat am. Should be there the better part of the day. I will pm you our Cell #s so if you are there you can give us a jingle.

The only other drawback that I have found is that if something is in the Convection oven you can't use the microwave. I love my convection oven. I bakes very well and there really isn't that much difference from the regular oven.
It probably defeats the storage problem but I carry a toaster oven (can be used outside too, weather permitting) just in case I need to use both. Of course I am a cook and have cooked for many people from our unit. Thus I come prepared just in case I need it. This might not be something that a fulltimer or someone that doesn't care for cooking would want to do though. Anything that is not used is a waste of space when that space is very precious.

Flan is definitely not hard to make and there is even a dry mix that you can buy at the grocery store.
I have a recipe for one that uses cream cheese and it is to die for.
Basically 1 can evaporated milk, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 3 eggs, 1 Tbsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. lemon zest, and a little caramelized sugar in most recipes. Mine just adds an 8 oz pkg of SOFTENED cream cheese. Pour the caramelized sugar in a baking dish, (I usually use a round bowl that you can bake in) and swirl around. Blend everything else real well until smooth and pour in to the dish and bake at 350* in a water bath for 1 hour.
To caramelize sugar
just put 1/2 -1 cup sugar in a pan and heat on medium till it is caramel in color stirring constantly. Careful not to burn it. The amount of sugar depends on how much caramel you want on top.
You do need to turn this out on another serving dish after it has cooled but before you refrigerate it so the caramel is on top and the caramel hardens on the lining of the bowl.
You can make this a day ahead of time and refrigerate until the party. It will keep for a few days.
Try it! If you like Flan and Cream cheese you will love this!
