RE: Calling all weight and balance experts!!! please

Thanks for the input so far. Going tomorrow to look at a longer shank with an extra hole or two. Then re-weigh.

I guess I'm worried I don't have enough on the front axle, and not knowing the actual tongue weight bothers me a bit. I guess I could get a tongue weight scale.

Calling all weight and balance experts!!! please

Ok summer RV time getting ready to roll out again. Had a great time around the US last year. I've been meaning to post my CAT scale weights for help because they don't seem right to me. Tow Vehicle Suburban 2500 (family of six, full fuel, and a cooler of drinks) 7220 lbs weight distribution OFF Front .............3040 lbs drive axle.......5180 lbs Trailer axles...5840 lbs weight distribution ON (4 links on the chain... any more make the nose of trailer rise) Front.............3280 lbs Drive axle.....4840 lbs trailer axles..5940 lbs If I understand these weights I transfered 100 lbs rearward and 240 lbs forward. I realize in theory we should get the weights closer but I'm really not sure the best way. I also am not sure of the tongue weight. Hopefully there is some forgiveness here because I have a lightweight trailer compared to the 9300 lbs I could tow, but I wanted a safety net and not try and tow the maximum. This our 2nd year with a travel trailer and I'd like to get things squared away properly. Thanks for any who care to assist. Thomas
