RE: My new RV Garage

Thanks for taking the time to post all the pictures. I'm really enjoying watching the building progress.

RE: Sears 125PSI Air Compressor

Yes, I have the same 125 psi compressor and inflate my tires easily but as stated, the compressor needs to be running to inflate the tires. After the compressor fills and shuts off, pull the release ring to let some air out so the compressor starts and start filling. It will take you less than a minute or 2 to bring your pressure up. Repeat for the other tires. I also replaced the hose and end fittings with stuff from Harbor Freight.

RE: Wife says I need to Vent (sorry)

You are going to have a hard time! Ford is going to say it left the factory with no problems. Thor is going to say it is a Ford problem. It is Camping World's problem. They should be getting it taken care of. Yep, CW should have handled it to keep you happy. The dealer I bought from did anything and everything they could to keep me happy after the sale. They'll be my first choice when I'm shopping again. When I had Ford issues, I dropped it with them and they drove it to Ford and made sure all repairs were done, then I picked it up from the dealer. Send Marcus an email and see if he can help. He seems willing to help. Good luck to you and enjoy your new Motorhome when you get things ironed out.

RE: What makes a Newmar so much better in the cold?

The impression I get is that a Newmar Class A will perform much better in cold conditions(below freezing)than any other rig? Can you guys explain why? This may be the tipping point between a Tiffin or Newmar for us. Thanks as always. Go with entegra Thats my next coach 2-3/4" welded tubular-aluminum sidewall construction Polar Pack insulation with reflective Flexfoil floor (R-33), roof (R-24), sidewalls (R-16) Enclosed, insulated and heated floor and underbelly I like Entegra too but I don't want a 40 ft+. Motorhome. I wish they made something in the 32 to 35 ft range.

RE: Please comment on our list of choices...pros and cons.

I'm not sure what Thors quality is now. I've heard good and not so good. I think Thor's quality has improved alot, I would consider another Thor if I was going to upgrade. I'm happy with my "entry level" coach, because it meets all of my recreational needs at a fraction of the price of other brands. My buddy was RV shopping, he is considering moving from a bumper tow toyhauler to a Class A. I really liked the Tiffin Phaeton quad slide or the Newmar products, but they are a little over my budget. :S And please rest assured I am not criticizing Thor. This was based on my research of the Palazzo just from reading owners comments, complaints and praise of Thor.

RE: Please comment on our list of choices...pros and cons.

Check out the THOR rigs. They have some nice new ones that sound like they have what you are looking for. Dont know if there are used ones or not. Are they considered a quality brand like the others I have mentioned? I ask because I dont know. I'm not sure what Thors quality is now. I've heard good and not so good. I did however like this new Palazzo with bunks. http://skyriverrvs.com/sr.php?item=TM1334 We looked at it at the RV show in Pleasanton , ca. Looked to be well made and its a diesel. We currently have a Tiffin 35 QBQ . While I would like a diesel, the Palazzo just did not offer enough to switch. I'm used to quad slides so the Thor felt a bit tight and cramped. My wife thought it was very dark inside compared to the QBA which is very light and bright. She has final say so well see what's around in a couple of years. Good luck in your search!

Sequoia RV Ranch in Three Rivers, Ca

Just wondering if anyone has stayed here. It is close to the entrance of Sequoia National Park. We would have preferred to stay at Lodgepole campground in the park but we'll be there in early April and Lodgepole is at 6700 ft. A lot of snow there still. Almost all the reviews I've read for Sequoia RV Ranch are pretty favorable but just wanted to see if anyone here has been there. Thanks for any help!

RE: Winnebago/Itasca or Tiffin Allegro?

We were in the same place as you a year and a half ago. We also had a Heartland Cyclone 3010 that just wasn't working well for us and 2 kids. We test drove a Winnebago and I liked it but my wife didn't at all. We looked at the 35 QBA and that was it. She decided. We were just camping for 5 days and it poured for 3 of those days. I was really happy we had the quad slide. The living space is just great. We had our friends that came with us and their kids in our Allegro for the bulk of the rain. 5 adults , 6 kids and 2 dogs and we all had room. The kids love the bunks and we love not having to make up beds every night. Only minor stuff went wrong under warranty and the dealer fixed it all. My BIL bought the same unit. We bought them together. His has been pretty trouble free also. Pick the floor plan you like best and also the one you like the looks of. You don't want to do this again soon! Good luck.

RE: Looking at gassers..which chassis is best?

The F-53 chassis also comes in a 24000. Tiffin is starting to use this chassis on some of its gas coaches. I've heard the handling is better on this chassis and if ordering your unit, see if you can order it.

RE: Recommendations panhard/trac bar f53

You have 2 very good options near you. Brazeal's is in Centralia, WA Brazeal RV or Henderson's Lineup in Grants Pass, Oregon. Henderson's Line Up Give them a call and discuss your problem. I took my 35 ft. on an F-53 to Henderson's and really enjoy driving it now. I figured it was better to have a pro tell me what would help than to just throw money at parts hoping for the best. Good luck!

RE: Steering wheel is crooked

Consider this solution from Ford: Clear Vision Adjustment Procedure 1. Ensure that the wheels are in the straight ahead position. 2. Remove the bolt (T50Torx) 3. Remove the steering wheel with a 2 jaw puller(OTC 205-116 or Rotunda#T77F-4220-B1). 4. Reposition the steering wheel to achieve a level or horizontal position. There are 40 splines in the steering wheel which allows adjustment to within + or- 4.5 degrees. I have a 2011 and we took the wheel off. There are no splines! Just a one way key way. You cannot fix this on the newer models by repositioning the wheel!

RE: Steering wheel is crooked

Leslie, It's really not that hard a fix. We had ours done at Future Ford of Santa Rosa, Ca. Their service dept. handled it with no problem. Be proactive. Call all the Ford dealers near you and talk to them. You may have to travel a bit to find one who can solve your problem, but it can be solved and it is a half hour fix.

RE: Steering wheel is crooked

Leslie, I just went through all this with my 2011. With the new Ford chassis, there is no tie rod adjustment, or I should say its a very small adjustment. Not enough to fix your problem. Removing the steering wheel and repositioning will not work. The new Fords are on a blind spline, or a keyway, not on a grooved spline. My Ford dealer fixed my problem by repositioning the splines on the pitman arm. It is splined so it can be used to correct the crooked wheel. A good Ford dealer should be able to do this. They charged me $125.00 to do this and the alignment shop that couldn't figure it out paid for it. Good luck!
