RE: Calling all satellite TV experts

Sorry when I say converter box I mean the Directv Satellite Receiver box that sits next to the TV, we have no DVR's. Living room TV is connected to the receiver box with coax, bed room TV is connected to receiver box with AV cables. The dish is a DirecTv Satellite Dish 18" Dual LNB just using one LNB.

Calling all satellite TV experts

We have a 2011 Fifth wheel with a TV in the front bedroom and one in the back living room. I admit I am a newbe when it comes to getting both Directv converter boxes working with a single coax cable running to the dish and a splitter in the RV. The other day both TV's and converter boxes worked at the same time. Then a storm came and the TV signal went out. Thinking the outside dish must have gotten out of whack I called the wife on the cell phone as she watched the signal meter as I aimed the dish, problem solved so I thought. Not so with the signal strength showing around 80% the living room TV converter box does not work when the bedroom box is turned on. So I went back outside and put the dish out of whack again now both converter boxes work at the same time with signal strength showing zero. I would like to get both converter boxes working at the same time with a high signal strength before the next storm comes. I know I could buy a 2nd coax cable and run it to the RV from the dish just don't know why both converter boxes fail to work with the high signal strength. Our converter boxes are about five years old. Any ideas?
