I think the KOA Lundy's Lane on the Canadian side is the best campground with the nicest facilities.

RE: Leaving from Kitchener ON to Disney

WE have done the Vintage racer trip as well and enjoyed it.
If you are at the RV show this weekend in Kitchener we will be in the Family Campers and Rvers booth (V-23) on Sat and Sun afternoon.
Our first outing is in three weeks from today and we are going to the Prov Park in Darlington for a conservation and clean up weekend. Free camping two nights as the park is not officially opened yet, but involves some easy labour and lots of good company. Last year we had 25 families.

RE: Suggestions Myrtle Beach Class Resort?? and Branson Mo

We have stayed at 3 different parks in MYrtle Beach including Lakewood and Ocean Lakes, but we stll prefer to stay at the KOA. Its not on the beach but located in a treed area about 2 blocks from the water. Its convenient to all the "down town" area of MB and we were able to get reservations there up till one week before we arrived in mid July.
In Branson we again like the KOA. The ABC is nice , just not as convenient to many of the shows and other entertainment opportunities

RE: Tired Saturn Vue- what to get now?

We rented a Captiva while in Houston two weeks a go, A great vehicle and drove very nicely. Lots of room and good seating. I read the manual and it definitely says towable.
Doubt we will see any in Canada so probably won't work for us.

RE: cats

Our cat goes everywhere our MH goes. We have the litter box with the roof on it which works very well at containing the smell and we sit it on a small carpet in the shower area. Very easy to move in the morning when its shower time.
Our cat goes under our recliner rocker as soon as we start and spends most of his time sleeping on the platform for the chair. Only when we stop or slow down or he gets hungry does he come out to visit.
He is a great traveller and we stop and let him sctatch a tree in every state/province we visit.

RE: Cape Breton, Cabot Trail

There are nice campgrounds in Baddeck and you can leave the trailer there and actually do the complete loop in on day.
That would be our recommendation.

RE: Went and bought another one!

You should aim that MH towards Rideau Acres in Kingston on the Long weekend in May as we have a major campout there. No need to join, just come and check us out. Love to meet new friends.

RE: What is YOUR Toad? (Four Wheels Down - not Dolly Tow)

Currently towing a 2008 Pontiac G 6 with only baseplate and lighting modifications. Weighs about 3,300 lbs and is a great daily driver.Put the transmission in neutral and go. Start it up in the morning and let it run for 5 minutes and usually do the same thing at lunch time. This is our second G 6 to tow.\JM2CW

RE: Fuel stops--New Brunswick & Nova Scotia

Along all the major routes you will find very large "Irving Oil Stations" that have large areas for truck parking and large pull through gas islands. It will not be a problem.

RE: Oakville, ON to South Carolina

The route we took two years ago in March was as follows:
I 90 west of Buffalo
I 79 south at Erie
ROUTE 19 S to Beckley
Route I 64 for a few miles
Route 177 south
Route I 81 for a few miles
Route 177 South
Route 174
Route 52
Route 311
Route I 74 220 south
Route 38
Route 501 to MB.
We stayed overnight at Flatwoods KOA in West Virginia and visited the factory outlet stores there. This route will take you through some hills and through two tunnels, but should be no problem.
Its about 820 miles.
If you go to Google Maps a its will show that route.
Good luck

RE: to toad or not to toad

The biggest plus for having a toad is it gives you easy access to areas you might want to visit as you cross the country. Many of the more out of the way attractions are not MH friendly. Also when you arrive in an area and set up the MH, the last thing you will want to do is to disconnect everything to tour around.
If this was a straight drive till we get there, stay for a few days and drive to we get back home then maybe a rental car at the destination would work. We never go without our toad.
