FUN GROUP Pow Wow @ California Hot Springs May 22- 25, 2009

If anyone is interested in camping with the FUN GROUP on MEMORIAL DAY weekend (May 22nd > May 24th) at California Hot Springs, please either PM or call me, as I have about 6-8 sites left, depending on how quickly they get taken. The campsites are sold out and I have choice spots in a secluded culdesac (check out my pic link below). They are at the end and we are able to monopolize the area.
Check out California Hot Springs, website above for more specifics about California Hot Springs. We have been going there for many years and always have a great time. It is like taking a trip back in time to the Little House on the Prairie days. No cell phones, no stores, no gas stations, etc. Oh, and a pool that is in the mid 80's all the time. The 2 spas are in the 100's !!!
Check out some pics I have taken over the years HERE.
The full hookup sites are only $27 per night.
Please contact John either by email johntina2@juno.com or Private Message me. You can also call me at (8O5)65O-zero zero zero zero. I'll update this post to reflect site availability.
Thanks,
John, Tina and Shelby :B

RE: Idea for staying cooler up front...

I had a clear ceramic based window film added to the windshield and driver & passenger side windows last year. This has reduced heat transfer by about 60%. The front of the coach, in 110 degree weather and facing the sun stays cool. At first my DW thought I was nuts and just wasting money, but changed her tune when she experienced how well it worked. We have also found that the coach stays warmer in the winter. There is no tint to the film, but if you wear Polaroid sun glasses you may get a tinted sky. To me it's worth the extra comfort.
Same thing I did with similar results, but mine is tinted. No diminished vision during the night or day either :B

Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone that made this happen. YOU ROCK!!! Wouldn't have changed a thing, other than that damn camping clock that spins so fast!

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

Golden Girls chili was a knockout!!! My fussy little Redhead ate 2 servings of it! (usually a bite or two is the norm for new stuff)
Wagonmasters/Ruthy and Chuck - You pulled off an event that went without a hitch. Well, except for those protein filled knats (I without consent consumed at least 200 or so)
Chefs/rv.netters - I am in awe at how good of food you guys cooked. I gained a minimum of 8lbs in a 3 day span. I tried in vain to ride my bike to work off the calories......
Wifey and Shelby (you know, the REDHEAD in the barbie jeep) had the best of times and we couldn't sign up fast enough for the next rally.

RE: Buying a new monaco Updated

jmanatee, TOP of the Line Monaco Signature 2002 sold for $66K on E-bay. AquaHot, tag axle, 500hp, 10Kw Gen-set,satellite dish, leather. But each to his own. Locomotiveman
Sure......Show me a link to that one or a item number at least.
These new lows in selling prices are driving home the current value of all MH's and that can cause us some pain.
I do think if things gets hot some of the new rigs today being bought at used prices may sell for the current purchase price 4-5 years from now.
This so called sale was nowhere to be found. Lowest price I've seen for an 2002 Signature was $175k and it didn't sell.

RE: Out of state (CA) registration

Did you know that the State of California loses millions of dollars a year in revenue from California residents who unlawfully register their vehicles in other states or countries?

RE: need information to make a vehicle dingy towable

Thanks for all your helpful information on dinghy towing the Venza. I know now not to try it!
Is there a front wheel drive version? If so, it is towable on a dolly. IMHO, that is a hot car and looks very affordable and useful.

RE: RV for family of 8/Fleetwood?

Suggestions will be all over the board until we can get a sense of your budget and length wanted + or -. Right after you find the correct sleeping accommodations, you seriously need to find one with LARGE water/grey/black tanks.

RE: need information to make a vehicle dingy towable

Buy the Toyota and get a dolly. I have never had a problem with storing my dolly at campsites and I can tow any of my 4 cars (all happed to be front wheel drive) with nothing extra to worry about. Buy a car that is flat towable to tow behind my MH and then buy a base plate, tow bar and a braking system? And then only be able to use that car to tow? Screw that, I'd rather use a dolly, which will work with most cars people have nowadays. You'll be driving the car 99% of the time and the other 1% will be towed, so buy something that is practical for your daily life, good resale value (the toyota is great) and can be towed in some fashion. The list of towables is short and does not include cars that can be towed on a dolly.

RE: Ultra fab tow dollies

The car's wheels on a dolly do not swivel. Either the dolly's wheels swivel, or the pivot table on the dolly that the car's wheels are strapped to swivels. The car's wheels should be locked so they can't swivel.
