RE: Moving over from Hybrid Forum

Congrats, We also just made the plunge to the "darkside" as they call it. I think it will fit out growing family much better with the each kid having their own sleeping space. We are making the first camp outside the driveway the end of this week with taking it to Disney. Hope all goes well with your new purchase as well.

RE: 2013 Cruiser RV Radiance

Hey there,
I am trading my htt in on a viewfinder 28bhss on wednesday afternoon. They are made by cruiser rv also. I had a rough time researching them also. From what i gather they had a rough road for a while, and in 2010 (maybe) they were merged (or bought) by DRV luxury Suites. They are a high end fiver and motor home manufacturer.
I checked price on a radiance in the same floor plan to mine, at another dealer, the salesman stated the dif was that the radiance line is same build quality as viewfinder, just with smaller price tag due to not using teh stainless steel appliances and fireplace, that kind of think. But actually his quote was about same as I am paying for my unit.
I have found some good, some bad on internet, but that is what forums typically are. they are full of gripes at times.
Good luck in your search.

RE: tow weight opinions for a possible upgrade

Yea, It tows my htt just fine. This new one will be heavier, maybe close to limits, but a well set up equalizer should do ok. There is a cat public scale between dealership and home. so I plan on getting the set up weighed on way home. see where i am. that will tell me more..If it is horrible over time, I can always look into another tv later on. I am not a big believer like some on here that ya need a 3/4 ton or about to tow anything though. half tons are very capable tv's, especially late model ones from the big three. They are doing much better with this.

RE: looking to upgrade from hybrid to hard sided for room...

We have a 2012 viewfinder 27rbss although we like the rv after 1year the front cap bleached white. It has been waxed no less than 3times but does not help cruiser will not fix the problem or help with the expense. They should make the Co That manufactures their caps fix it but they won't we will not replace with same brand next time .
wow thats the first ive heard of this. After i read i searched that and even looked at older viewfinder pics.. cant find any bleached out....wonder what happened there. Thats no good at all.
and about the boys... we have looked and looked, do not like the quad bunks without a slide in that room. and that double slides add a little too much weight for the half ton.

RE: tow weight opinions for a possible upgrade

yea I understand as family grows, needs will change. As they get bigger tow vehicle will age itself out of the loop also. At that time I of course would look back at how it towed versus what a 2500 series would. I was just asking for a baseline of opinion or of people who have towed similar with a similar tow vehicle. It is 2009 ext cab 1500 silverado std bed, z71 with 5.3 has factory z82 hd towing and tranny oil cooler on it. Was just looking to from some people who have experienced similar rigs. We live in ohio, most mountain we would encounter is smokies on 75 southbound. I know alot of people on here are die hard 3/4 ton or better to tow a small lawn trailer, but That isnt always an option for everyone when it is your daily driver also. GM states 7500 to 8000 lbs with up to 1100 tongue weight with wdh. and the trailer will be within that, but like i said, just wanted to hear from folks on here with similar experience. Thanks so much for all of your help.

tow weight opinions for a possible upgrade

Have the 09 silverado in my signature. we are looking into moving to a viewfinder 28bhss. dry weight or little under 6000. we do not ever tow with loaded fresh grey or black tanks. use linx levelers so no wood to add weight. buy most firewood at campgrounds due to regulations where we are. just typical pots, pans, use plastic plates ans things, so really not at on of extra weight. its me my wife and 2 small kids. approx 400 lbs in all of us. Guess what im getting at is that we dont load our camper all the heavily. Looking through here and around campgrounds tons of folks pull larger trailers with half tons, just looking for insight from the pros here. I use equilizer wdh with 1000/10000 set up. just looking for opinions or anyone who pulls this type setup with similar vehicle. thanks again

RE: looking to upgrade from hybrid to hard sided for room...

CincyGus, I def agree with the room in the HTT. the room is not the issue really, it is more sleeping areas. my kids are 7 and 4 and boy girl. eventually they are not gonna want to sleep together, so we are looking into the bunk style,
a friend of our has that premier, nice campers for sure. He tried to tow with his half ton here for a bit and he ended up getting a 3/4 ton also.

RE: looking to upgrade from hybrid to hard sided for room...

Yea, I have seen them bash folks in the past, but gotta do what is best and to keep the kids interested.
We have a floor plan we love and a model we love, the Viewfinder 28bhss. have done some research on cruiser RV because I had not heard much of them, but it seem solid from what i read. And there are some pretty good youtube videos on their factory. Big thing we wand to know is that if people out there have models similar with older children and how it works for them. Or if they wish they went another direction.

looking to upgrade from hybrid to hard sided for room...

We are looking into upgrading to a bunkhouse style camper for longer use as kids grow. They tend to bring friends more as they age so we are looking into more sleeping space, but wanna keep half ton towable. we tend to like the double bed bunk versus the "bunkhouse" style 4 twin beds, seems kinda crowded. any one have any insight on camping with teenagers in double beds on top of each other. does it work well?? the kids ok with sleeping with the friend they bring? thanks for the info in advance.

gutter on awning side of camper???

When i picked up my HTT this january it has gutters on front, rear and slide side of camper. spouts on 3 corners. across the door side it has no gutter. I question dealer about this and they said that it was supposed to be that way. This past week during a trip th A/C was ran a lot. it was draining out over the awning and dripping over the side. Yes i can re level, but I am wondering if anyone else out there has gutters on this side of not? It is a 2011 coyote 23cks. and i cannot find pics up close enough to tell. thank you in advance
