RE: Camping pet peeve

I'd like to know when and where all you people go to find all these problems. My wife and I usually camp in spring and fall.Go in on a Sunday and leave on a Thursday. We don't camp on Holiday weekends.By doing these things we avoid most of the problems that everyone seems to find.
That's exactly how we camp. So you guys are the annoying people next to us.;)

RE: Check Your Marker Lights

I'd put my money on 3M 4000 UV.

RE: Any Drawbacks to Using Circuit Breaker instead of Fuse?

There I was in the auto parts store looking for a 40 amp fuse to replace my main and they didn't have anything bigger than 35 amp. A six pack was going for $3.99. Got to looking around and noticed a 40 amp circuit breaker for $3.69 and that's what I bought and installed.
I can understand the argument not to use a breaker based on "what happens if it keeps resetting when you aren’t there" (even if I don't agree with it as a problem) but to not use one based on price? Really?

RE: TT: Maintenance

I only really ask because I live in my travel trailer full time for the moment and have a extended warranty and if ever an issue I don't want them to deny my claim, although I hope I don't ever have an issue. I know they said make sure AC area is always clean and behind the fridge there is a panel that needs to be cleaned out and things like that. But I was always told the ac's on the TT don't really need to be serviced unless out of Freon. Not sure how true that statement is.
You may want to check on how your extended warranty is with regards to living in it "full time".

RE: Was I miss informed

I think there are much better sealers like 3M 4000 UV. IMO Silicone deteriorates and mildews too quickly and I wouldn't use it.

RE: Camp Chef Portable Fire Ring

Just a +1 from all that's been said. I love it. No more fire wood to worry about, no smoke in my eyes, no fire smell in my clothing, and best of all it can be used during fire bans.
To me this is just like my gas fireplace at the house. Flip a switch and you're done, nothing to add, turn, tender or clean, and when your done flip the switch again.

RE: Unhook at the campground?

We leave it hooked up if there is room to do so. If it turns out we have to go somewhere then obviously I unhook, but don't see the point if you don't need to, unless of course your nose up and out of level which should be fixed anyway.
P.S we do unhooked the plug from the truck.

RE: Length

This is just like a boat. Mine is 27 ft, but 30 ft overall. If I'm bragging it's 30 ft and if I am renting space by the foot then its 27 ft.

RE: Where is my poo?

I was amazed at how many responses there are for a clogged toilet, but I am bored so I gave it a go, and now 6 pages in it's like a good mystery novel. I can't wait to read the conclusion?

RE: Small 2-4 Person Boat?

Can't say enough good things about the Porta-bote. Just be careful with how big you go. 10ft was plenty big enough for 2 people and weighted about 70lbs which can be handled by one fairly strong person. The 12ft is too heavy IMHO. If I were to get another one I would go 8ft. Easy for one person to handle and still big enough for 2.

RE: Equalizer too large?

The 600lbs is the maximum the bars are be effective at, not what the weight needs to be. If I were close to 600lbs I would opt for 800lb or 1000lb bars.

RE: Shame On Camping World

I found it hard to believe you were so wrapped around the axle about this, but now I see you just have an axe to grind.
When you purchase and item from a store and take it home you have a store return policy, usually 30 days etc., and they usually exchange the complete item for a new one. After that you contact the manufacturer for any warranty issues. If CW had installed the toilet that might be a different story, but to buy it off the shelf and then expect the store to replace a part is an unreasonable expectation.

Thanks for the input guys. Now just to find where to buy this at. I'm thinking maybe Ace or Tractor Supply
Or just about any store that sells gas grills and accessories.

RE: Dust pollution in Mesa AZ.

Well, I just spent 6 days in Mesa - got back home a few days ago, unfortunately.
I'll gladly trade you the west coast Canadian winter weather for a little dust! Miserable cold rainy yuck here.
I didn't notice the dust - I only noticed the beautiful climate, the wonderful warm days and bright sunshine. Cruising around the area on a big motorcycle was amazing!
Was there a dust problem? The house I was at was immaculately clean - I never saw a dust problem. And I breathed well too. My sinuses were clearer than they have been in years.
Hmmmmm.
Oh yeah, this was my first time in Arizona. I love it there and I'll take it any day over Surrey BC, the armpit of the universe.
I can certainly understand your love affair with a short trip to the Phoenix area but spend a couple of years there and you might have a different opinion. It’s not just dust, it’s the pollen, and it’s always in the air because the humidity and rainfall is so low. They were able to bring water to the desert so they could grow everything from grass to flowers and they have, but there is nothing keeping the pollen and dust from flying around continuously. Worst allergy problems I ever had, but it took more than 6 days for the symptoms to develop.
if its that bad why are you still there? just wonderin'.
I'm not, can't you see my location:h? I left after 4 years to make room for somone who thinks +104* is nice weather.
