RE: Tire balance of tow dollies

Not just dollies, all tires need balancing. I keep hearing of trailer tires that are not balanced and just don't understand it. Anything that turns needs balancing.
I turn, and my wife says I'm not balanced either:H
How hi do you bounce?

RE: Large cafeteria trays for pot luck

If you can get in near the front of the line you can eat your platefull and get back in at the end. No one will notice. I quite often start at the desert table. There are lots of servings in a bowl of tater salad, but only about 8 slices to a pie.

RE: Midwest race track camping

Kalamazoo Speedway, the world fastest 3/8 mile, always has room for boon-docking except the October weekend. I think the web site chasinracin has information on tracks all over the country. I may have that name wrong. it's something like that.

RE: Not even built yet and already has boondockers in the lot.

Is it under construction? Might be construction offices, storage, or construction workers living quarters.

RE: Front Seat That Swivels Upgrade W/Pic

My '97 E450 V-8 came with swivels. A friends '97 E450 V-10 came without. The doghouse for the V-10 is too big to let the seats swivel. Might be different on newer rigs.

RE: Looking for a Good CG near Washington DC?

We live just outside of DC - in Maryland. Aviod driving into in DC as alluded to. If nothing else for the parking isues in DC.The DC Metro Subway will get you almost anywhere you will want to go downtown. You can even download a map of the system.
Cherry Hill is a popular commercial RV Park, lots of ammenities and a solid reputation. Close to DC, transportation option is a huge ammenity. With that said it is not a true representation of camping in Maryland in regards to the beauty of the area, and what our fine state offers.
If you are looking for a natural atmosphere, an alternative to consider is Brunswick Family CG, that is on the banks of Potomac River and the C & O Canal. You can take the MARC train into DC. Different adventure...
Stayed at Brunswick 2 years ago. We used it as a central point for day trips to visit the Civil War. Maintenance was completely lacking. Could/should be a nice campground. I hope they have cleaned up their act.

RE: Which car dolly to buy?

I bought a Master-Tow because that is what I found used in good shape with surge brakes. Previous owner had tire wear problems and put radials on to cure that. No significant problems and would consider this brand again. One advantage, or disadvantage, of a dolly is that family members keep borrowing it to tow their disabled vehicles.

RE: mounting mirror

Had one factory installed with double sided tape. Mirror was fully framed with a back. Not just tape to the back of the glass. I found that when I removed it to fish some wiring in the wall behind it. Reinstalled it the same way. No problems.

RE: Is your mileage better in your camp chair

Been $0.50 per mile. Ball park figure. Might be $0.60 this year. Oh well. A little more camp chair time. A little less drive time.

RE: At 30 feet: A or C?

Another consideration: When you say class A any repair or maintenance charges go way up. Engine and drive train work on a C is the same as on a van. Most oil change outfits can do a C. Front crash protection is the same as a van.
In my C, I can rotate the front seats to be part of the house. The driver, passenger foot space becomes a catch all when parked.
It takes 5 full hiway lanes to make a U turn, which I blame on the Ford Twin I Beam front end.

RE: Insurance Benefit - vehicle storage

I just call my agent and reduce the coverage to just comprehensive when I park the RV and toy car for the winter. Comprehensive covers anything that may happen in storage and costs very little. A phone call the day before we want to go puts full coverage back on.

RE: Another Spare Tire ?

If you have room underneath you might consider the winch system used under the 1 ton chevy pickups for their spares. Might find one at an auto salvage yard. Be sure it has a stainless steel cable. the regular steel cables rust up solid.

RE: Do You Exercise The Generator In Your Class C ?

Once in a while. Not as often as I should. I put a shut off valve in the gen. fuel line and run the carburetor dry to turn the gen. off, so there is no gummy residue in the carb.
