RE: Beginning to Look at 5th Wheels

I have owned 3 Montana's the most recent being a 2010 3150RL and they are great fifth wheels. We have only had a few minor problems with ours that you would have with any of them. The dealer has been able to fix the small problems while it was still hooked to the truck. We looked at the Big Horn when we bought the 2010 and it had alot of rough edges on the constuction. The dealer sold both and recommended the Montana over the Big Horn as well.

RE: Dropped it!

I have not done that YET. Been towing a fifth wheel for about 8 years or so. Always have a fear of doing that. I did buy a Bed Saver for the hitch. Check into it. Sorry for your misfortune. It could and does happen everyday.

RE: Challenger vs Montana

I have owned 3 Montana's - 2003, 2006, and a 2010 3150RL floorplan. The Montana is a step or two up above the Challenger. Go with the Montana.

RE: "Wiring fault on trailer" message

When I had a 2007 F350 it said the same thing. After investigating several things we found that the wiring on the Montana 5th wheel at the hitch pin had come loose. Check that out and see if that might be the problem if so it is an easy fix.

RE: 2009 Montana 2955RL

I have owned 3 Montana's 2003 2955RL, 2006 3000RK, and 2010 3150RL. I towed the 2955RL with an F250 V-10 and had no problem. I did trade it for an F350. You should not have any trouble.

RE: Montana mountaneer and f350 v 10?

The bottom line is it will do it. As I have stated before I have owned 5 V-10 Fords and the most current is a 2010 F-350 and it does a GREAT JOB!

RE: Waxing 5th wheels

I keep mine polished. I do it several times a year and I use Dura Gloss Clear Coat Car Polish it is easy to apply and easy to take off. It also stays on well sitting out in the sun all the time.
I have used McGuires and others but this seems to work the best for my 2010 Montana.

I have them in my house and the 2010 Montana as well and I use a scratch remover car wax. They shine like a new penny.

RE: Montana mountaneer and f350 v 10?

I have a 2010 Montana 3150RL (3 slide outs) and tow it with a 2010 Ford F350 V-10 4:30 gear crew cab short bed 4x2. I have owned (5) V-10 Ford and (3) Montana's. I have great success with both the V-10 Ford and the Montana's. Towing I get about 9 to 9.5 MPG depending on the driving conditions. The truck handles the camper great and I have plenty power for the hills. Any questions send a personal email.

It will probably run off of hot sauce instead of diesel.

RE: Keystone RV Really Comes Through

Glad to hear they took care of you. That is what a good company like Keystone is all about. I hate it that a certain FEW people always bash a company like Keystone. I have owned 3 Keystone Montanas and very minor problems with any of them.

RE: Parking in driveway

I have a similar situation. I live in a cul-de-sac and in the left end of it. I tow the fifth wheel in on the left side of the street and get almost into the cul-de-sac and turn to the right and that swings the tail end of the RV around to back in the drive way. My drive way is also steep. I seem to manage. I tow a 35 ft. Montana with a F350 Crew Cab short bed. I have backed into the street before but it is a little more difficult for me.

RE: MPG

I tow a 2010 Montana 3150RL that weights about 12,000 with a 2010 F350 4X2 Crew Cab Short Bed SWR V-10 with 4:30 gear. 9.5 MPG towing. I simply do not worry about the gas mileage it tows well and I get where I am going as quick as I need to. Normal towing conditions on the interstate about 65 MPH.
