RE: Which spray carpet cleaner is best?

For spot cleaning I use Tuff Stuff, it's available in the auto section of most stores. It cleaned black grease stains a mechanic tracked in.

Cat engines?

My son is a trucker and he said he heard that Cat was going to quit making truck engines and concentrate on industrial engines. Can anyone confirm that?

RE: Entry steps

Check the splice where the step wiring ties into the main harness, thats where mine was making a bad connection. I had to unwrap some tape and insulation to see the problem. The splice is right by the step just follow the wires.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Changed tranny filter and oil, cleaned battery connections and topped off water, disconnected and cleaned main ground connection ( there is at least 10 connectors on the main ground and all of them were corroded ). Ready to go to an indian casino.

RE: Graduating Snowbird Class 08/09 Year Book. Please add.

We spent a month in the RGV and then had to go to Phoenix due to a death in the family. We spent two months in Phoenix, loved the weather in both places but didn't like the traffic in Phoenix. Will be heading back to Weslaco Texas next year. My wife says she wishes there were some indian casinos a little closer in Texas.LOL she just poked me in the ribs.

RE: Another leveling jack rebuilt, what a PITA...

I had two jacks leaking slightly and decided to try transmission stop leak. That was two years ago and they haven't leaked since. For only about $6.00 its worth a try. My jacks are Big Foots.

RE: Leveling Jack Fluid Overflow

The bigfoot instructions say to make a dipstick ( I use a garbage bag tie-wrap) and the level should be 1 inch below the top. I had a slight leak in mine and I used transmission stop-leak and that fixed the leak. Also the Bigfoot instructions say you should never use oil to lube the struts, just wipe them off and use Silicone spray. Hope this helps

RE: Remembering Why I Snowbird

We've had two nice days since we got home, just enough time to service the motorhome. Today it's raining and supposed to change to snow with approx 1" accumulation. Should have stayed south one more month !!

RE: Norcold Refrigerator

I put a new refurb cooling unit in mine last year. The new unit is guaranteed for three years and cost $475.00. Its not a real complicated job, they sent a good set of instructions with it. However if yours is a 1992 model as your profile shows I would put a whole new fridge in. My dealer sells them for $1150.00 not including install.

RE: New Noise! Thump/Clunk over right front Wheel Well

I had a rattle like that and it turned out to be the inner end of the rail for the slide. The sound would change depending on how tight I pulled the slide in. The way I found it was I could reach in the open end of the channel the rail slides in and I found the roller on the end of the rail wasn't tight against the channel. I did a quick and dirty fix by gluing a wedge shaped piece of hard rubber about 1/8" thick where the roller would pinch up against it. ( And yes the noise did SEEM to come from the right front under the passenger seat}

RE: Returning Snowbirds Share Your Daily Experiences

Stay south for at least a week if you can!! We had 50mph winds, rain, snow and then had to detour around the flooded area on I-29 in North Dakota. Winter is NOT over yet in the center part of the country.

RE: Winter Texan RV.Net Gathering January 26, 2009

I kind of started this off this year and today we got some bad news and I have to leave. My brother-in-law in Phoenix passed away and my wife is the only relative, so we have to leave immediately in order to get there by Tuesday. Everyone have fun at the gathering, I hope to see you all next year.

RE: Advice on flat towing a grand cherokee with my class A

I use the cable operated ReadyBrake and it seems to work very good. Find information on it here http://www.readybrake.com/. There is no battery drain with this system.
