RE: Apha See Ya.... Later?

I took a look at a new Alfa right before they went out of business. I had heard the stories about the delamination problems, but I couldn't find any evidence of any. What scared me off was the stupid things I did see - like wood-grain contact paper peeling of edge trim. There was junky looking hardware on the TV mounts. The outside garbage removal door was a huge piece of uninsulated fiberglass which closed so poorly that you could see daylight inside the cabinetry. Like others have said, poor quality.

RE: wrecked my coach, need repair ideas

A lot of RV places repair RVs, but for most of them, repair is a sideline to selling new and used units. One of the best reviewed RV repair facilities is:

RE: Tablets in lieu of a computer???

"Large screen with easy typing" are two qualities that don't appear in any tablet that I've seen. That's the main reason I'll never own an Ipad. Of course, with my large hands and big fingers,"easy typing" is only found with full size keyboards.

RE: A&E Awning support knob replacement

It depends on what model awning you have, but if the nutset is undamaged, you should be able to unscrew the broken stub and screw a new knob in.

RE: window awnings dometic vs carefree

I have a 15 year old acrylic A&E awning that I'm just considering replacing. The material itself is still in good shape but all the seams are starting to let go. Acrylic breathes where vinyl doesn't and is known for being long lasting. You'd want a lighter color that reflects heat instead of absorbing it. The weatherguard is important when you park the MH for long periods of time.

RE: Engine only starts with coach batteries

In many motorhomes, the engine battery has parasitic draws, but only gets charged when the engine is running. Most converters only charge the house batteries when the MH is plugged in, and that's why the house batteries are usually the fallback for starting the engine.
The easiest solution is: Trik-L-Start
