RE: Shower advice please!

We have shelves built into the shower corner for soap and shampoo Do you have space to install a shelf high on the back wall.

RE: Seasonal to Towable

Yes everything connected to the axles is a good place to start. I would guess you need new tires at least. Good luck.

RE: What's in your TV?

I guess I am interested why we need glass cleaner in the truck as we travel down the road. The only thing we might add is a snack and extra drinks possibly a dunkins ice coffee.

RE: Just venting

Not sure what has you busy but for us it was the kids sports. When we realized that our camping was getting cut into we went seasonal. With no set up we were able to show sat afternoon or leave sat night or what ever time we could get in. One holiday weekend I remember bringing my son home for 3 different soccer games. We did what we had to. We are not traveling and it will soon be just the wife and I as the youngest heads to college in August.

RE: It's just wrong...plain wrong...

The great thing about being seasonal is you can go for one night or just a day and work around all the schedules. Our youngest is off to college in August so that should open even more camping for us. Good luck.

RE: Black Water Tank Question

I have a number of thoughts here. When seasonal we would dump Friday night when we arrived, we did not have a gret tank but we had PVC pipe rather than a sewer hose. We fill the tank in 2-3 days, we use plenty of water. Grey tank fills in less than one day so we leave it open. Would never camp anywhere without a sewer hook up. The reason for the the trailer is so we do not have to use the campground bathroom or worry if it is clean or not. The first thing I do when looking at a trailer is sit in the bathroom, if I do not fit we move on to the next one. If the tank is not full at the end of the weekend, I just stand on the foot peddle and let the water run with the fan off. After I dump, I fill the bowl 3 or 4 times and let the water dump out before closing the valve and dumping the grey tank (I close the grey tank the night before we are leaving).

RE: New TT What Do I need?

I am guessing there are a lot of trailers over weight. A lot of stuff that I would not carry but everyone does what they do to get by.

RE: frig

Is it low in the front? If so just jack it up the 3 inches. You probably lift if more than that putting on your bars etc.

RE: New England Campgrounds

Sounds like a good trip. In MA Bayview, Normandy Farms and Boston Minuteman would be my choices and please please please avoid Yogi in Sturbridge. In the Freeport area there is a KOA but on your way to Freeport you will pass Old Orchard Beach which is a real fun area with plenty of campgrounds. Up in Bar Harbor we have stayed at Hadley's Point, really like it there. I am not one to drive many hours to try to get a spot without a reservation so I have never tried the KOA up there, also don't travel with much cash. If they happen to be full, everyone else will be too. NH, 95 only covers a small part of NH but there are plenty of campgrounds depending the direction you want to go. Danforth is good as is Lost River in Woodstock, Cold Springs in Weare to name a few. The White Mountains are great to visit. In Vermont, up 89 I would go to Pine Valley KOA great place, great people, lots of quant little things to see in the area. Have a great trip.

RE: extra power hookup

My guess it is the campground breaker that is the problem. I have had an issue once or twice so I ran the water heater on propane and then there was plenty of power for everything else. Are you running water heater on electric as well? As others have said, some campgrounds still have a single 30A plug at the site so you would not be able to plug the microwave directly into campground power. As for you AC having a 5 minute reset, I would hope that it is cycling on and off all day anyway so you should be going 5 minutes or more all during the day without the compressor on.

RE: Swapping fridge from 2 way to just 110.

Did something get deleted as I did not see that the gridge was being run on batteries, maybe everyone knows that Rick dry camps. Sounds like he is going to cap the propane and plug into the 110 outlet.

RE: Just got here and Already asking Questions

Hi and welcome. You should be excited about this. I have a 35 foot trailer after having a 34 foot the passed 2 years. Towing is pretty easy, they tow well. I have found that if you reserve early enough, you will end up with the best sites in any campground. When we call we tell them what we have and we have always had some of the biggest sites. We camp with friends that have 32 and 29 foot TT. I call first to be sure I will fit and then they call. If you want the bunkhouse and kitchen you are most likely between 33 and 36 feet. Enjoy and get excited.

RE: Travel Trailer too big/long for driveway

When we bought ours we relocated our shed and extended 1 side of our driveway 35 feet with crushed stone. The trailer was too low to get in the driveway so for 2 years we used board and now this year we bought a higher TT so no more boards. Love to be able to keep plugged in and leave the fridge on all season. Are there any adjustments that can be made so it will fit at home. It is worth it. Told my wife we have to keep the house so we do not have to store the TT.

RE: New to Seasonal Site.

We were seasonal for 11 years when we were tight on time as you are. It was well worth it but we are traveling again. Be sure to turn off the water and secure the awning before you leave. Have fun and enjoy.

RE: Trash Cans

We put ours outside, we are out there most of the time.

RE: Towing trial?

I agree that if you test pull an empty TT withou weight distribution, you might not get the real feel but if it make you happy and someone will lt you do then go for it, if they let you take the brackets off your current trailer for weight distribution then even better. If after the test all is comfortable with the tow, then go to the other dealer to see how you like the trailer you want. One 35 footer is going to tow like another 35 footer.

RE: New York City Area

Have been to NY 2 times for a total of 5-6 nights, not camping, stayed in a hotel. Both trips we did the hop on/off open air buses. Great to see a lot of NY, the first time we did the add on tickets to see ground zero, Statue of Liberty and Rockefeller Tower. We did The Empire State building on our own. I can tell you we were at ground zero when the temp museum was still set up and it was a tough take for me, to see the pictures and the names, I knew the pilot of flight 11, not close but knew him. Anyway, also saw a few shows, took a carrage ride in Central Park, checked out the Trinity Church (National Treasure fan) plus spent lots of time in Times Sq. We are thinking of going for a couple days in Sept and would stay at Newburgh KOA, we liked it there when we spent 1 night last year. Would most likely drive in and pay the $30-40 to park and then walk around and see what we wanted to see. Good luck on your trip, where in Maine are you heading?

RE: Packing cabinets?

We start the year at BJ's wholesale club to load up on plates, cups forks, knives, spoons, bowls etc. We get chinnet plates for days we have steak. We pack in a closet. We do not have silverware other than steak knives in our knive set. We do carry coffee mugs packed in a general cabinet. Liquids in the bathroom get dropped into the tub while traveling and sink soap gets put in the sink. We load up a shelf rather than loading 2 shelves half way. Ususally do not have issues.

RE: Closing or opening a slide out manualy
