RE: Dometic RM2652 fridge flue cleaning

I had that problem once and thought the flame was good ... http://i39.tinypic.com/5v3mnk.jpg ... but after I cleaned the burner tube and gas jet it looked better http://i41.tinypic.com/4j9y50.jpg The first picture was good enough to keep the gas valve open but it didn't cool very well (45 to 50). The second picture keeps it 33 to 35. Mine is also a RM2652

RE: Refrigerator vent duct fans

.... All your electronic devices like computers, tv's, dvr's, xbox etc... all have the fans sucking the hot air out, not blowing air in because it is more efficient that way. Most of the servers and fiber optic muxes we had in the telcom world had the fans sucking air IN. The fans pulled air in through filters that we had to change regularly.

RE: Refrigerator vent duct fans

... I would think for longevity of the fan, cooler air being pulled across the fan would be better than hot air. That's part of why I mounted my fans at the bottom.Good logic. I wish more design engineers could think like that.

RE: slide button cover?

I saw a good solution at an open house at our local RV dealer that was common to one brand (which I have forgotten). The slide switch was activated by a key. The key was attached to the slide locking bar. When the bar is in place you can't activate the in/out switch.

RE: How long to get cold!

I did my Spring test on a warm sunny day last week. It was 72 in the TT and 76 in the fridge when I turned on the fridge on electric. Fridge was empty. I have a wireless thermometer so I can watch the temp without opening the door. My Dometic RM2652 got to 35 at the end of 6 hours. As I recall, it took 2 hours to get below 70 and after that it started to make some progress. Hopefully that will give you some idea as to what to expect.

RE: fridge works on 110 but not propane

I had a similar problem a few years ago. Cooled good on AC but fridge got warmer on LP. I thought the flame was good but after I cleaned the burned tube and jet the flame looked better and the fridge cooled very good on LP. Here are before and after pictures. Notice the thermocouple tube in the second picture glows red and it doesn't glow in the first picture. Low flame - http://i39.tinypic.com/5v3mnk.jpg and after cleaning a better flame - http://i41.tinypic.com/4j9y50.jpg .

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

I'm in New Zealand ..... The real eye opener was the octane. Regular here is 91 and premium in 97. Considering that in the USA regular is 87 octane with premium 91 or 92, .... The difference is the octane rating method. Interesting reading

RE: Not super impressed with Dometic fridge controls

I have the same fridge. Where is the temperature control? The only thing that I can see in my fridge is what looks like a sticker on the inside of the fridge. Is this the control and if so how does it work? If you do NOT have a temp control adjustment on upper panel then your temp control is pre-set. You can make minor adjustments to temp in fridge section by moving the termistor attached via clip to fin. Sliding the clip up......colder Sliding clip down........less colder The white plastic piece on the fin in this picture is what Old-Biscuit mentioned. http://i51.tinypic.com/2lctq0y.jpg

RE: Kill the Suds

We use Dawn for dishwashing and don't have excess suds when dumping. We still use the plastic dishpans from our tenting days and they just fit in the sink. One for wash, one for rinse. We add a few drops of Dawn while running about 2 inches of hot water into the dishpan and get enough suds for dishwashing. By the time I am done washing dishes the suds are almost gone. I have a short clear piece on the dump connection and I never see excess suds. As others said, use less Dawn and you should be ok.

RE: To old to pull that big rig.

Is 70 years to old to pull that big trialer or 5th wheel you bought 10 years ago. ....Probably .... at that age you need a SUV or a truck to pull it. :R

RE: water heater switch

... Off topic, was on your side of the bay at Seven Moons...YUM!!!Nobody goes away from there hungry. :B You were only about a mile from my house. OK, back on topic ... On some units the only shutoff for the water heater is at the 110volt breaker switch.

RE: water heater switch

The only switches for my Atwood water heater were on the back of the heater on the junction box where the heating element connected to the AC wiring from the converter/breaker panel and the circuit breaker in the converter. I added this switch with a pilot light that is on when the switch is on. Turning it off and on from the breaker near the floor was a pain. http://i40.tinypic.com/518opv.jpg width=640

RE: Just found a super easy way to take the black streaks off

I tried the Lemon Pledge and a microfiber cloth today and it did a nice job on the small area I used as a test. I also tried it on part of a decal stripe on the side and it seemed to perk up the color on the decal. Thanks daveor for the tip. :B I should mention, I haven't even given the TT it's Spring bath yet but did want to try this out.

RE: Point sebago Maine

By the last week of June they should be less of a problem. The black flies around Lake Winnipesaukee will be just as bad as Point Sebago. The in-season is considered Mother's Day to Father's Day.
