RE: Update to Previous Post

As stated on here before, all you hear are the problems not the successful job. Have used GS twice with excellent results both times in out of the way places.

RE: colorado mountain passes

We did the route your taking last summer in a 32'gasser towing 3000lbs,we were going the opposite direction, but no problems encountered . We are from NJ(aka flatlanders) It all depends on the person and what you can tolerate.

Beware Directtv Genie2

I was having problems with my genie 1 setup at home, When I called customer service they told me I was eligible for a free upgrade to the new Genie 2.The installer was on site in 2 days with necessary equipment. After doing all installation work including going up on the roof we were talking to customer svc to activate when she started asking about the equipment listed in THEIR system that is in the RV. When I explained what it was I was told this Equip(HR24 & D10-300) could not be listed on the same account as the Genie 2,Only way to make it work would be to put RV equip on separate acct.(more $$$). I refused the upgrade I felt sorry for the installer, he had to deinstall equip, but no way am I paying more for TV.

RE: No power to fridge and ac unit and no dc lights

Sounds like a DC problem, check on your DC Dist panel with a voltmeter for the presence of 12v. I f none present work way back towards battery to find problem.

RE: Roads to avoid

If grades are your only consideration, then I70 is probably the toughest but certainly doable with your setup.Have been across a few times with 32 ft gasser towing 3000 lbs. Will it slow you down? Absolutely so get in the slow lane and enjoy. For my money the scenery along I70 far surpasses any other Interstate route, especially in western Utahnjoy your trip no matter which you choose..

Attention Onan 5500 Marquis Gold owners

Just got back from repair shop.My Onan was leaking gas. It would run fine but the gas was leaking badly from a fitting on the inlet side of the carb. The repair guy said it is a known trouble spot but Onan has chose not to do anything about it.This to me poses a serious fire hazard, you have no indication anything is wrong, it could run for hours before the gas got to a hot spot that could ignite. My Gen is in a 2004 RV.Don,t really know when Gen was Manuf but should be in that time frame

RE: Converter fan isn't running

Replaced my 13 year old WFCO with a new PD,havn't heard the fan run yet.Newer technologies don't produce the heat the older ones did.

We'll be making the trip in a 31'gasser towing a car.Google has given me 3 options.Rt 50 to 49 t0 4 at 160mis Rt 395 to 88 to 4 at 145 mis or Rt 395 to 108 at 149 mis.If anybody knows a good route that Google doesn't know about I'm willing to listen. Also CG info in Columbia would be good.I know about Marble Quarry and 49er RV.Planning on getting there on Mon 8/14 are rsv necessary?

Sequoia NP

We are currently in Dolores Co, enjoying cool temps. We are thinking about braving the heat and leaving this cool weather to make the trek thru Kanab and Las Vegas to Three Rivers and on to Sequoia. Are we nuts or should we just suck it up and do it.Oh and while we're in the neighborhood might as well stop at Death Valley. We're in our 70's and it aint as easy as it used to be.
