RE: Montana claims

Now Keystone is claiming thier 2010 Montana will have a 79 degree turning radius a full 5 degrees better than thier nearest competitor. WELL, maybe Keystone/Montana doesn't consider Heartland their nearest competitor.

RE: Tire Problems....

In all likely hood it could have been a manufacturers defect. Some 90% of the problems folks have been having with Chinese tires, especially MISSIONS, have been manufacturer defects and manufacturer defects is actually covered by warranty. Problem is, once the tire is ripped to shreads trying to get to a stop, it is darn near impossible to know where to place the blame.

RE: Tire Problems....

Nownow Glenn, surely you exaggerate. You'd have to way more than zig-zag - I'm talking about low speed maneuvers in tight corners here, not driving style. Like when you're U-turning at truck turning radius tightness, or levering the trailer into a tight spot. Surely you exaggerate. Not at all. As an RVer for years, many times I have made U-turns at truck turning radius tightness, or levered the trailer into a tight spot in many many campgrounds and done so on gravel, cement, black top, you name it. Maybe I should have pointed out that I spent many many years in the tire business. Most of that time as a part owner and in charge of retail sales and service manager. We covered every gambit of the business from distributor, wholesale and retail sales and service. In all those years I have never seen tread seperation caused by cornering/turning/etc. at any speed, forward or reverse.

RE: Tire Problems....

What you experienced is Ply/Tread Separation which is A breakdown of the bonding compounds resulting in the plies detaching from each other. Usually as a result of excessive heat. This excessive heat can be caused by higher than normal speed especially on hot days when the hiway is also hot. Over or under inflated tires cause heat build up. Over loaded tires. Also a manufacturers defective can cause separation. Skylos' theory though plausible is highly unlikely unless you were zig-zagging down the road

RE: Question for SuperGlide Owners

I would never risk damaging my Superglide muchless putting myself in an expensive liability situation should something happen to the other 5er. Surely you are not the only TV in the CG set up to pull 5th wheels.
